Small up-potted plants are being put into over sized pots, and stressing their plants.
They’re known for their VSOH (variegated strong of hearts), other than being wayyyyy over priced, they are BARELY rooted.
Putting a small plant in a big pot to get more money, is exactly what you should never do as a plant person, let alone a seller.
I also have screenshot Of my review because I know Cordova gardens may have the temptation of deleting this helpful review. 😋
So long story short, SAVE YOUR MONEY! 🙈 -
Went the other day and they had many plants I haven’t been able to find in my hometown. They’re very healthy and very reasonably priced. I could have spent hours looking at everything they had to offer and I’ll definitely be back!

What a beautiful, full and satisfying place. Truly was blown away upon my first experience here last week. I just got into plants during the pandemic and the indoor tropical warehouse thing was so...Amazing. May or Mae (sp?) the chocolate lab who hangs out in the front is a true gem. Looking forward to coming back!

I got scammed $20. I was excited to find a scindapsus silver exotica for $30 but after I got home I realized it was magically $35. I am positive I seen a $30 tag on it and confirmed with my spouse. Because I showed him how the price was good compared to another plant. Meanwhile the man watched us. Very weird... and the man started packing up the plant before we paid and he didn't even greet us. (He might be the owner but he was being unfriendly). I am not surprised if he was thinking about his scam plan.
I also got a tiny 4 inch small *single leaf* hoya kerri variegated for $30! because the tag was ripped off. I assumed it was $15 because the other ones were that price. The bigger kerri was about $35 with multiple leaves like they were chopped up and planted in separate pots.
And a 4 inch baby snake plant for $7.50. For a total of $72.50 in cash for 1 regular size and 2 nursery starter sizes!!! Prices were more expensive than I expected. I could've gotten better deals online or at another plant nursery nearby! I should've asked how much the kerrii was instead of paying $30 for that tiny SINGLE LEAF 4 inch pot. Pay in cash because they charge a lot more for cc. I feel like I got scammed here and I got a bad feeling from this place. Oh well keep the extra $20. You need it more than me! I can't believe how greedy this man is and took advantage of customers. I don't think I am the only one.
Update:
The overpriced $30 single leaf kerri variegated died. The $35 scindapsus silver was potted into a oversized pot to make it look fuller than it actually is. Don't trust this plant nursery. There are plenty of better places with better quality and prices. Even the farmer's markets have better quality. I collect plants as a hobby and this was the worst experience I had. -
The best nursery in SD. From the selection, to prices, and friendly workers, this place is definitely my go-to spot. Also, its always a treat to pet sweet Mae (big brown lab).

I love this place, they have a really great selection. The prices were a lot cheaper than Home Depot and other large chain stores as well, and the plants here were in much better condition.

Good variety but seems as if they've let some recent booms in business effect their business model. Saw several plant varieties with new higher price tags stuck over the top of lower price tags. If that is what they have to sell them for now to make the same profit I can understand but when I can clearly see that in the recent past I could have gotten the same item for a lower price it devalues the product for me. I also went for a specific plant they had advertised on Instagram and while they had a huge variety of this particular plant cordoned off and listed not for sale, the select few they were offering looked a lot scragglier and less appealing. Overall I was a bit disappointed in my trip as I had gone out of my way to stop by.

If you love plants and at a great price you should definitely check it out. Great variety of plants. I got some of my wish list plants here and the owner was very polite. And their parrot was so cute. I will definitely be visiting again. Where else can you get a full pot of string of hearts for only 18? And a full hindu rope for only 20? Thats a steal in my opinion. Thank you Cordova gardens, my home is that much closer to looking like a jungle. And I will be coming back for more.

Great selection. Good prices. Come for the plants, but make sure to visit the parrot.

One of my favorite places to visit. They have unique plants, friendly & very knowledgeable employees and is a family owned business. Love to browse, love the friendly dog that resides there and the beautiful parrot that will talk your ear off if you arrive early in the day. Beautiful pottery, wind spinners & plants. A great place to visit!

I love bromeliads and this is the place!!! I have also purchased orchids and unusual succulents at Cordova. I always find something stunning.

I love this place! Jose and his dad always greet me when I come in, but don’t follow me around trying to sell me. José is usually there and is always helpful and knowledgeable with my questions. I love to support small family run businesses and this is my go to for plants and more. I bought my two fountains there and they work great. I recommend Cordova Gardens to all my friends with small or big projects. I’m a small business owner myself and I shop local !!

This is one of the best nurseries I know of in Northern or Southern Ca. They have an outstanding selection of common and unusual or hard-to-find plants - often in small and larger sizes. I especially appreciate their selection of cactus, succulents, bromeliads, orchids and houseplants. Prices are very reasonable. Staff is friendly and helpful. If you are a fan of plants and find yourself in the neighborhood, you must stop in. Highly recommended.

This is by far the best nursery I've been to around San Diego! They have a massive selection, all plants are really healthy and of great quality, the prices are competitive, and there's a friendly dog who likes belly rubs. Highly recommended!

This garden has good collections of indoor plants, succulents, and other beautiful outdoor plants. The qualities of the plants are a lot better than the ones from Home Depot or supermarkets and these plants are reasonably priced. The owner is knowledgeable and friendly.

Love this place!! They have an amazing selection of pots that can be converted into fountains. They took the time to educate me on the types of pottery & pump systems that would be optimal for a fountain conversion. The selection of plants is also pretty spectacular. I shopped around and found the value here outstanding! Excellent customer service too!

Absolutely wonderful nursery. Beautiful plants (indoor and out) as well as a large variety of statues. Helpful staff.
-
This nursery is wonderful! Huge variety of house plants, many I'd never seen before and all so healthy. Plan to spend some time there exploring, it's kind of a botanical gardens experience with the variety of patterns and colors. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell it's family owned which in this day of big box stores, is appreciated. The dog and parrot on site are friendly touches.

Love this place! Wide variety of healthy plants at very reasonable prices

The atmosphere is amazing its like being transported to a plant paradise. This was my first time in and I was greeted by a a big ol girl(dog) that loves belly rubs. She led me to the main plant room. There are so many plants to choose from! You gotta check it out if your in the area!
