Beware! Please don't let the high ratings fool you! This is NOT a certified chimney sweep!
While their sweeping abilities seem adequate, beware if they say you need more done...you might just be their next sucker...
Called for our first ever routine cleaning and my spouse was scared into having our whole fireplace rebuilt with the threat of dangerous fires having happened behind the firewall. Our beautiful large fireplace was destroyed and replaced with one 1/4 of the size! We were ill informed and told lies about current codes just for this company to make money off of tearing out half of our perfectly good damper to replace with a upper new one. Bricks were laid poorly and no special cuts made to accommodate our fireplace space. Let me put it this way: 4 wheelbarrows of our superior quality fire brick were hauled out. 1 wheelbarrow of inferior fire brick was hauled in to rebuild. Bricks were laid on their sides so less product was used, less mortar used, and much more profit made. However, recent certified expert opinions have concluded for us that we will get no more than 4 years out of this shoddy and unprofessional (and expensive) job! (It definitely won't be CC Chimney redoing it next time, though!)
Btw, poor follow up service...heard loud road noises after damper was put in but CC would not answer our messages until over 7 months of our consistent calls and messages. Finally came out with a slight attitude and simply tightened the string of the damper. It seemed they didn't care if there was a defect or problem and never even came back to crown seal it as they previously indicated they would. Not really a huge concern to them since they had already gotten their big chunk of cash from us!
We have since heard similar stories from several, several good and trusting families in the BR and surrounding area. Certified companies have to come back behind CC and clean up this companies poor craftsmanship constantly!
We were not very knowledgeable, were fooled by the ratings, and were PREYED UPON by this company and taken for a very expensive (and unnecessary) ride! We have since had to have reputable Louisiana certified professionals come in and clean and inspect and were not only horrified at the job, said no evidence of any firewall fires was seen and reaffirmed our suspicions of the lies about current codes for the sake of CC's additional up-sale for an upper damper.
We were lied to and taken advantage of just because we didn't know much of anything about fireplaces!!! Please take your time and do your homework and ask around for a REPUTABLE company, as this is NOT a company that prides itself on professionalism, quality, or customer follow-up needs.

Excellent response time, service and fee. Jonathan explained & demonstrated how my fireplace worked. He was friendly, courteous and put my mind at ease. I would recommend this company to my family and friends. Will use them again for all my fireplace needs! Thank you again Jonathan.

Jonathan and CC Chimney do great work. I have had them work on a few fireplaces doing everything from building a new fire box, sweeping the chimney and installing a new screen at the top of the chimney. They stand behind their work so please support a local, family run business.

They completed an entire fireplace overhaul in just one day including an entire new brick firebox. They were very thorough and explained everything before and after the work was complete. A couple of weeks after the initial install, I had some questions and concerns and they came out promptly to assess and took care of my concerns. They are honest and good people with fair prices. This is our first home with a fireplace, so finding someone like Johnathan to not only inspect and clean it but also answer all of our questions and show us how to operate it is amazing. Jonathan was prompt, professional, and after he cleared my fireplace of a swarm of wasps, told me that I needed to have a plumber come out to unlock or turn on the gas. He did a visual inspection, but without having gas on and burning something, how was my fireplace fully inspected? Also, I received no pictures and was charged the full inspection price (-$25.00). :-/

Professional. Knowledgeable. Excellent work. Thorough job. Inspected the chimney from multiple aspects, even inspected in the attic. Found an issue in the attic and was able to resolve it. Tidy. My house doesn’t smell like a fireplace. There’s no soot anywhere—can’t even tell the chimney was swept. I don’t quite know what I was expecting but the next-level cleanliness and complete lack of mess was not it. He came totally prepared. Courteous and quick. I will absolutely be calling them again.
