Update 06/04/2026:
Had a large limb crack and settle on top of our cabana. Called Nary - he came out within a few hours and the next day the team was there, took down not only the limb affecting the cabana, but some other large limbs that were soon to fall! Also had them take out some dead limbs and clean up the canopy of a river birch while they were there. Thrilled with their service yet again!!!!
Contacted Cannon Tree Service after seeing all of the great reviews and SO PLEASED with the choice to use them to handle the needed tree trimming and removal on our property in Covington!!!! Nary Cannon came out, went through everything we were looking to do, gave us his expert, professional opinion and guidance and the Cannon team did the work to perfection!!!! Our trees look beautiful! Like artwork!!!!!! Upon leaving- you would not even had known they were there with the amazing clean up! Cannon is the ONLY expert to call and we will absolutely use them in the future and highly recommended them! -
Nary was awesome setting up my appointment (he knows the tree cutting business he created and has had for decades) to take down a massive water oak between our home and our neighbors home on our property. It was so amazing how professional and how high tech, high grade and modern their rig and machinery were with their robotic saw rig and most importantly how skilled his son Garret was at operating the system from the ground (like a video game). He worked non stop from 9 in the morning until 5 in the evening and cut and moved massive pieces gingerly and skillfully over our home and to the ground. I was super impressed! His crew on the ground was super professional and skilled making sure every massive piece of the tree that came down was ground and or cut down and they clean up every inch of the sight around it before they leave. AND the price was right! As you can tell this customer was super impressed and happy with their skill and professionalism. I didn’t know them before this job but will use them forever when I need it. Thanks Cannon family!

I’ve owned my house for 22 years and have had several trees removed. This experience was excellent! The Cannon’s were knowledgeable, professional, and able to work with me. The timing was perfect and the price was great!

Thanks for your hard work down here in St. Thomas. It's obvious you really care about the people you serve.

This review is based on reports I am hearing on the ground in St. Thomas and St. Croix. I am doing this out of a duty to warn, in good faith that my statements are truthful and accurate to the best of my knowledge. Statements regarding my opinion of the situation are just that, my opinion of what is going on here.
This company appears to (in my opinion) be involved in a subcontractor bait and switch situation. They have subcontracted their work to other subs who promise workers one thing with their pay agreement to get them to the island. Then, once the workers get to the island the conditions change and they are told that they will be working with a different company (being re-formed by the old company). Every day there is a promise of pay, and every day a new excuse about why that promise is not met.
These men are working hard in extremely difficult situations, doing important work to save people's homes on the islands. They are working completely without pay, being told lies day after day. They are in a seemingly hostage situation where they are being forced to accept an agreement that was not what they came there for.
It seems to me (in my opinion) that the subcontractors that Citadel is still working with to complete this FEMA contract are exploiting the classic sunk cost psychology where the workers want to recoup an investment they made in coming down there which will likely never arrive (this conjecture taken according to people who have already left the island and have reported to me what happened). And Citadel is still working with these people, so they must be in some way either complicit, liable, or both.
These workers are being worn down working day after day in such situations, and then asked under duress to sign contracts that would (illegally and unenforceably) cede any rights they would have to rectify the situation, or ever get paid. These men were offered money for roofing jobs they worked in good faith and diligently to complete, and are now being given portion of a per diem and sent home instead. Or in some cases, given next to nothing at all. It is shameful. -
Been in our home about 6 months. Noticed mold in spare bathroom. Ceaser the contractor goes in my attic with no tools and says it’s easy fix. Stands on my toilet to wipe off mildew as he called it. Noticed yesterday same issue by vent in my laundry room. This house was thrown together and we were made to feel grateful we got it. Thank you for using my toilet as a step stool and not checking other areas. Husband will be calling again. Problem not fixed.

Get in writing the scope of work to be done and the price.

Awful, awful, awful. Does not listen to what client wants. Arrogant; thinks he knows better than anyone and does things “his” (wrong) way rather than the right way. Misplaces parts and replaces with wrong parts that don’t match. Wastes materials. Just a disaster!

He was very knowledgeable about the codes and answered all my questions . Best prices around .

I can’t say enough good things about this company. Dennis is prompt, professional, and proficient. He was at my house within 12 hrs of my hot water heater going out. Fixed in less than 2 days!
