I don't always do a good job of recognizing people who go above and beyond both professionally and just in genuine kindness. While it has taken me a number of months to find the time to write this review, I feel compelled to share my experience both with Case and, in particular, with their Bethesda Area Senior Remodeling Consultant, Brian Knipp.

A couple of years ago, my husband and I began a bathroom remodel project with Brian. While this project was not big by Case's standards, Brian met with us a number of times taking painstaking care to understand what we hoped to accomplish. The details of the project were very important to us as we hoped the newly designed bathroom would serve as a place of sanctuary from our otherwise very overscheduled lives.

Once we settled on a plan, Brian and his team had to negotiate a number of permitting obstacles very unique to our situation. Though there was no “go by” to assist in the process, Brian was able to quickly and creatively work through to a solution that satisfied all the involved parties.

Just as the project was about to begin, our family experienced a significant loss of income due to an employment change. Brian and Case had already received partial payment, scheduled subcontractors and were set to begin the remodel within the month. Brian graciously offered to place the project on hold while we reassessed our financial position.

Ultimately, we determined that we were not going to be able to go through with the project and Brian worked with the ownership team to decide what would be due or need to be refunded. Again exceeding expectations, Brian and Case returned the vast majority of our downpayment, only holding on to funds which had been spent already, even going out of their way to return previously purchased supplies and to refund the proceeds to us. It would be very difficult to express how important each of those dollars was to our family during that time.

Throughout the entire project and subsequent wind down, Brian was unbelievably gracious, kind, selfless and genuinely concerned with our family’s wellbeing. Since that time, both my husband and I have unabashedly recommended Case/Brian to anyone considering a remodeling project. It seems there are so few companies who take the time to get to know their customers and perhaps even fewer consultants who put their client’s needs before profit. Our family was tremendously blessed to work with just such a company and just such a consultant.

Brian and team, though I know it was not your intention, we genuinely hope word of your care and professionalism spread far and wide so that many others may receive the gift of working with you and Case! Thank you again so much for all that you did for us!

Working with Case was an absolute pleasure from start to finish and we couldn't be more pleased with the results! Each stage of the entire process of consultation, design, permitting, and craftsmanship made our investment feel worthwhile. The final results of our newly renovated kitchen and expanded living space are nothing short of stunning.
What sets CASE apart from other companies we attempted to engage with was their commitment and innovation to bringing our vision to fruition. When we reached out for other consultations, we were met with dismissive non-answers about how to complete the project as we saw it. CASE's Adrien arrived with enthusiastic supports and ideas for how we could make it work and was eager to guide us through the process knowledgably. His creative solutions and connections helped us organize and schedule some essential prework with our central air conditioning that had made other companies simply shake their heads.
Another standout from the experience working with CASE was the personal touch from their design leader, Alex. Working with her can only be described as fun. You feel as if you've walked onto the set of an HGTV show as the lucky participants. The team makes you feel that valued.
While they led with complete professionalism and expertise, they were also quick to allow participation in the process. You aren't simply receiving something stock from their plans or distribution partners (although they had some great ones to recommend - appliances especially); they sought and incorporated our input such as allowing us to custom our range hood and a feature accent to our backsplash.
Throughout the entire process Adrien checked in regularly and oversaw the work being done. George, the contractor, was also great at communicating and helping wherever possible to make the project happen in a way that allowed us to remain as comfortable as possible as brand-new parents. Every member of the team did amazing work!
CASE truly goes above and beyond, and I’m so grateful for their hard work and dedication. Five stars all the way! Please consider them for any future work you're planning. You will be thankful you did.

We had a large addition to our 200+ year old house in mind. We decided on Case Architects and Remodelers due to the large scope of the project and the expertise they could provide. We were not disappointed. From the initial contact with the project developer (Kelly Vogan), architectural designer (Kwasi Hemeng ), interior designer (Caroline Moore), project manager (Neil Martin), and construction leader (Jorge Solano), to completion, the project went smoothly. Despite unforseen problems in dealing with an older home, the project was done to our complete satisfaction and within the projected time frame. There were consultations during each step of the project. Our Case team was open to our concerns and suggestions and dealt with them expeditiously. Well done. We highly recommend the Case team and have no reservations in using them in the future.

We had discussed with couple remoodel companies but select Case Design and Architecture. I have to admit that my wife had made an excellent selection of Case to do our remodelling. Our design team lead by Mark Richardson and Carolyn Elleman have done an execellent job to design, select, and implement. My wife really appreciate their efforts to make this remodel in such a fanstastic way. The project manager Jorge Solano has done an excellent job to handle the project that run very smoothly with different contractors and he has to deal with Howard County inspections (Three different inspection groups) and his foreman Tony Goncalves has excellent skill to make the beautiful island and cabinets. Thanks, Tony, Job well done. Tony has an excellent workmanship. We are very happy with their works which give us a very beautiful first floor of our house. We stay at our home while they work and have no interference to each other.
Thanks to everyone! JOB WELL DONE!

Dave Vogt put together an experienced team for our extensive kitchen renovation. The project initially seemed daunting but with the depth of experience at Case it surpassed our expectations. We wanted to extend an inside kitchen wall and take out the middle section of an outer kitchen wall to install a 7-foot-wide window. Dave’s response: Case does this all the time. Dave’s team also took out the kitchen bulkheads to create lots more vertical space. The result was transformational with vastly more natural light. Dave brought in master designer Caroline Moore, who managed to pair a stunning quartzite island and countertops with walnut cabinets and marble backsplash. Fluent in all design styles and fixtures, she made it easy to quickly narrow down choices. The construction phase could have been challenging but we had project manager Brian Knott. With his extensive construction knowledge, attention to timing and detail, and professional can-do attitude, he orchestrated a deep team while taking advantage of individual talents. New cabinets were installed, new plumbing, new electrical, drywall, exterior wall brick work, quartzite countertops, backsplash, all new appliances, etc... Finished on budget six weeks ahead of schedule! Special thanks to Douglas for all his high-quality hours onsite as a Case builder and shadow manager, Eddie for some beautiful carpentry details and Marlin for his ability to use stains to mesh old hardwood floor sections with new. Kudos to Goran Zukic at Stone & Tile World for a well crafted quartzite island and matching kitchen countertops. It’s my favorite piece of “artwork” in the house.

We had an amazing experience with Case on our home remodeling project. From the very beginning, their design/build model made the entire process smooth and straightforward.

Once we chose Case, we were paired with a design team and had weekly meetings where all of our questions were addressed. They kept our budget closely in mind and were always transparent and responsive—even when we felt like we were asking small or insignificant questions. One of the things we loved most was being able to select all materials in one place instead of having to shop around at different stores.

Scott North and our designer were fantastic to work with—knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly helpful in guiding us through the design decisions.

When construction began, the transition to our Program Manager, Brian Knott, was seamless. Brian was extremely hands-on and clearly communicated closely with the design team. He kept us informed throughout the project with weekly meetings, regular updates, and photos so we always knew what was happening.

Our main carpenter, Marlon, worked on our project every day for five months and was truly exceptional. His attention to detail and craftsmanship were incredible, and he was always friendly and professional. On the rare occasion that an issue came up, the team immediately brought it to our attention and worked with us to problem-solve, clearly laying out all options so we could make informed decisions.

Even more impressive, the project finished a full week early—something we’ve never heard of with a major renovation! We absolutely love being in our new home, and everything turned out exactly as we imagined.

We couldn’t imagine working with any other company and would recommend Case without hesitation.

From the very first appointment to after the project finished (on time and on budget - when does that happen?!), we loved working with everyone at CASE. They quickly understood our style and worked with us to do a total gut renovation of our kitchen and two bathrooms, and various other changes throughout our apartment. They were always available and very communicative - and we had total faith in their work and their subcontractor's work as well. Now that we have had a chance to live in the space for awhile, we can honestly say we wouldn't change a thing - except that we actually miss being in touch and seeing our friends at CASE - Kelly, Carolyn, Tom, and Bill!

I bought a crummy storm door from Home Depot that the manufacturer replaced under warranty and sent to Home Depot for pick-up. I arranged for Home Depot to deliver and install the door. I've made repeated calls to schedule it, but my calls have not been returned -- meanwhile the door has been sitting there for weeks.

The worst service anyone can imagine, impossible to do worse. I want laminated floors and new carpet for my house so I went to Bethesda Home Depot to get both labor and install thinking it would be faster and cheaper, big mistake !!!!
Ordering material and taking field measuments was all ok, the problem started after that.
The total amount was around $ 3,000 and the person taking the order by phone on Sunday said I had to deposit about $ 1,000 to start the order, but, on Monday, they tried to charge the full amount for which my bank rejected the transaction, they tried several times until my bank blocked my account. They called me 2 days later saying its problem with my card , when I told them I wanted to use another card I was told to wait and left me waiting for 30 minutes, never called me back. Then I went to the store personally to change the order (since has beeen taking a long time decided to replace it with material they have in stock) and pay for material and installation. I was told that the installation will be done after 3-4 days. That day I received a call from New Jersey saying that the installation would be do after 1 month !!!!.
I contact the store, it is noteworthy that call the store is a extremely unpleasant experience, people who answer the phone do so in a rude manner and will communicate with 5 different persons, calls can take more than half an hour and with the assurance that no one gives you security of knowing what they are doing. Finally ,after leaving a voicemail , they contacted me telling me that I would be called to give me a date for the installation, without having a date for sure,I decided to just got the material and cancel the installation, supposedly this person made this change. Naturally nobody called me, I was the one who called next week and they said they had nothing on schedule and have only canceled the installation of floor and if I would remove the carpet had to pay $ 100 per restocking fee, UNBELIEVABLE !!!!, I have to pay because they do not his job.
Given the lack of time I explained to Laurie on Monday (person in charge) that I needed material or installation (anything goes at this time) before Thursday, she told me that carpet would be installed on Thursday and floor delivery the same Monday. Well, she called me later saying that the floor does not come until Tuesday, and they would call me before its arrive. I said ok. Tuesday 5pm, nobody called me, I called the store several times and Laurie was at lunch ,call 30 minutes later and the operator told me she did not know what was happening and that maybe she was already gone. Still calling the store until someone told me that they no had more deliveries for that day and they could not find my order!!!! Frustrated by poor service so I asked to speak with the manager, after a while the same person told me that the order was on my way ........ yes, the same person that just said no more deliveries for that day.
I have a crew of installers hired on my own coming tomorrow first thing in the morning and do not have even a nail.
Needless to say I hope not to have problems with credit that has to be done in my favor because I pay for materials and labor in full and now they are only going to do half of the installation. It's 6:30 pm and still no material of an stock order that started three weeks ago. Very poor service !!!

Well, Laurie personally came with a helper bringing my floor at 7:30pm , that was nice!!!.(besides a piece is missing) I think they are overwelming of work but I am sorry , is what it is, was my experience , I hope they improve their service. Good luck!!!!

Never get anything installed through this Home Depot. I had wood flooring installed and they completely dropped the ball all along the way. The expediters can't do their job, the assistant managers are incompetent, and nobody seems to be in charge. I'm not sure what is the problem with this store, but I would never use them to install anything. Stay away!
