We had Valley Verde install a fence in our front yard. They were fantastic to work with - very professional and the quality of work is exactly what we wanted. They even welded the fence vs pre-fab which gives it a really nice look and blended in with our existing railings. They were very reasonably priced and I would highly recommend them for future jobs!! Thank you - now our dogs can enjoy our front yard safely!!
They did a fantastic job on our backyard! They trimmed the trees, installed a paver patio, replaced the side and put in new landscaping. The price was very reasonable and the work was high quality. Great crew, they were a pleasure to work with. We will definitely be using them again!
I hired Mr. Garcia and his crew to install a privacy fence and gate to my backyard at the alley level, finishing concrete stairs to the alley, building a deck on the back side of my house with rails, new rails on my front porch, safety rails around my basement steps (a 10ft drop-12ft) and my retaining wall on the backyard hill (18-20ft drop), trim our neighbors tree that was overhanging our gutters, and finish two (2) ensuite bathrooms, one in my mother's room on the first floor, and the other in the Master Suite on the second floor. First, let me say their prices were extremely reasonable, which should have given me pause, but I proceeded with caution. We really needed the back deck, and rails to be done, because we were scheduled to hold a graduation party for my two sons on June 22, 2024. The bathrooms, on the other hand, while important and a priority, were not a rush. I asked them if they would be able to get it done by then, and Mr. Garcia promised me that he would be able to finish all the exterior work by then; They started June 10, 2024. They seemed to be off to a great start: showing up on time, working quickly, cleaning up mess, respectful of property and my family. Having had my share of bad contractors that didn't do any of this, I breathed a sigh of relief, but it only lasted for a minute. They were working during the stretch were temps were above 100 degrees. Since my husband and I aren't heartless, and we try to live by the "Golden rule", I offered water, popsicles, and anything else that would ensure their well-being. Around the day 4, I was handing out ice cold water out the back window, when I noticed that the fence being installed was not what we agreed to. The fence was supposed to be vinyl fencing high enough to provide some privacy, and security, but low enough, with open slating, to provide an unobstructed view of the alley. (See white open fence pic). This is because we have had people do some shady dealings and illegally dump trash (old mattresses, broken furniture, abandoned cars, etc.) in the alley. So, we wanted some separation, but not so much that we could not see. By the time I realized what was happening they had already cemented the post for a vinyl 5ft fence in the cinder blocks. Seeing the post, I realized that it was the wrong vinyl fence being installed. My husband and I had clearly communicated and showed Mr. Garcia the fence we were talking about, but he decided to do a vinyl panel fence instead. I, immediately stopped them, and told Mr. Garcia that this was not what we agreed to, upon. This is when my frustrations started, because he seemed to know enough English to agree to terms, (yes we have it in writing) and take my deposit, but now we have a failure to communicate because he seems to only speak Spanish and is now having difficulty understanding what I am trying to say. This left a very bad taste in my mouth, and I begin to have this sinking feeling that things were about to turn bad; It did. My husband, ultimately authorized the "change" to avoid delays and tear-outs, but this pattern continued with several other "terms of agreement" not being followed. I ended up checking him at almost every point because he thought he could just give me what he wanted us to have and not what was contracted. Well, this is what ultimately ended the relationship, as he kept trying to "get by" and we wouldn't let him. He finished most of everything, with the exception of the upstairs bathroom because we were sick of having to fight him to abide by the contract. Additionally, his plumber caused leaks in the pipes, downstairs bathroom, that caused water damage to our basement and living room wall. Since no deposit was given for the upstairs bathroom, we removed that item and paid him, in full for services rendered and bid him and his crew adieu. I really wished things could've ended better, because we still have much work to be done, but alas, it wasn't to be. Now looking for another contractor, who will honor the terms of the contract, at a reasonable price.
