1st Update: Updating to address the unkind response from the business. I've worked directly with Kristen after no one answered the business line or returned my voicemails for over a year, and here is the proof of our conversation via text along with pictures of the areas that were not being cut.
2nd Update: It appears the owner may have reported my photo to have it removed.
Original review:
Let me start by saying we started working with Holmes in 2020 and were incredibly pleased with the quality of work (extremely basic mowing and weed eating). The team that came out was literally perfect, but we weren't able to pay our bill for over a year because no one would get back to us. We called, emailed both addresses we had and even sent a letter. No response until they started showing up again in 2021. We were finally able to pay our bill, but noticed they weren't cutting the entire yard like they had the year before. We called the office and let them know about the issue and even talked to the foreman, Robert about our concern and was just told they don't do that unless you pay more. Fast forward to now where they just stopped coming and responding to my messages after I asked them to mow a specific area that's completely flat and a normal part of the yard.
If they could go back to the harder working team who came out last year, I would gladly stay a customer and recommend to everyone, but you're better off working with another company. -
I have been dealing with Holmes lawncare for about 6 years now. I have been very pleased with all of there services. Their employees do an excellent job on all services that I have requested. The customer service has been excellent also!!

It was a pleasure working with Holmes Lawn Care. They really listened to my needs and requests and gave quotes, suggestions and solutions right away. Big shout out to Luis. His easy maner and contagious smile sold me.
Thanks for a job well done. -

They always do a great job on our projects and I recommend them to everyone. Before and after photos of my recent job.

The team is either understaffed or choose who to respond to, when we first started with them they didn't answer us for about 5 months. After a year or so of using them, their team did not do a great job at keeping the grass in areas where grass should grow. In addition, the last cut that we received from them, their team had ruined a part of our fence. I reached out to Kristen as she seems to be the point of contact, and told her what happened along with canceling service. The service was cancelled, but have not received an apology, a bill reduction, or any acknowledgement of the damage (they were the only people working on our lawn), I provided pictures and all. But she did respond by sending a payment request twice. I have attached a couple of photos and as you can see, we have a puppy, which is not safe that the fence was broken (you can see they just stuffed it back into the fence post) and no one notified us-we were home the day this happened.

I met with Jim (Regional Sales Manager) of LeafFilter and his sales approach was aggressive, and a typical salesman show and dance.
My appointment was for 11am and he arrived at 9am. My wife works from home so she answered the door and told him that I (her husband) would not be back until 11am. First red flag
When Jim arrived at 11am he wanted to come inside and give his pitch, but I told him my wife was on a conference call and it was best to talk on my front steps. He insisted that he needed my wife there which I reiterated that she is working, and I can make the decision. He said that if he goes he’s not coming back and no one can give me the price he can give - second red flag
About 10minutes into his sales pitch I asked what was the cost. He said he needed to measure the gutters first and then continued his pitch. When we finally did walk to see the gutters he had no measuring tape ( I told him what the measurements were) – 3rd red flag.
After he worked up a price and gave his “special 25% discount” – I told him I had one more contractor who was going to look at my gutters --- well Jim attitude changed and became aggressive. And he kept on bringing up me having to talk to my wife to make a decision which I don’t know WHY that was a pitching point with him. He also said, if he goes he’s not coming back and no one can give me the price he can give -
To say the least Jim has turned me away from your product and company. -
I'm happy with the product. I was impressed that the crew came out in snow & ice to install it. Because of the ice they had to take more than 1 day to do the work. It looks good, I see water flowing out of the downspout. Their ladder did crease my downspout but it was under the snow so the crew didn't realize it came out that far. Otherwise we'll see how it fairs in a wet spring and hot summer.

We had LeafFilter installed about a month ago and have been impressed so far. We previously were using gutter guards similar to the Gutter Helmet design. We are surrounded by trees so during the fall, they were constantly getting clogged with leaves. Whenever it rained, the gutters were overflowing and we had problems with water getting behind the siding. Ever since we had LeafFilter installed, we no longer have water running over the gutters or down the sides of the house. I will say it is a bit expensive but we figured the cost was worth it as the water damage from a failed gutter system would be more expensive to fix. Definitely recommend having this system installed if your budget allows.

Worst experience ever
They came and gave me an estimate
We agreed on installation date but they never show up.
When I texted the salesperson on installation date he said his team is on their way.
After 2 hrs someone called me saying they had to reschedule me to Two weeks after.
They couldn’t honor their installation date , how can they honor their warranty
Totally irresponsible!!!!!! -
This was my second experience working with leaffilter. I love this gutter product. It's a micro mesh design that only allows water through. It's professionally installed. There's a lifetime transferable warranty. The installation is a 1 day job, they're always professional and clean up afterwards. No high pressure sales pitches, this product sells itself. This is a set it and forget it product. Once it's installed you just move on with your new life where you never have to think about the gutters again.

The workers were friendly, efficient, thorough, and answered all questions I had. They cleaned up everything and there was no problem with either one.
They did a good job. I am happy with the service and the job done -
The process was easy to set up for a cleaning. The technician, Carlos, was very professional and nice. He explained the process of what he would be doing and also shared the before and after pictures with me to see.

Great service from sales to execution. Couldn't be happier with the product. They even fixed a severely damaged gutter instead of trying to upsell. Cost was not as bad as I thought. Quality material and more cost effective than replacing your entire gutters of you do not need to. So happy with the result!

Tried to use FOMO (Fear of missing out) tactics to get me to purchase a system for nearly 5k (I have the tiniest roof you have ever seen). I found out from other local contractors that their sales people regularly try to push such extreme pricing on the unknowing because the sales people get to keep the extra money. Do not go with this company. This bad behavior should not be rewarded.

I have had nearly nothing but trouble with this company since engaging them to install gutter protection. We had an addition built and opted to let Leaf Filter fabricate the new gutters in addition to putting the guards in place along the entire roof line. The total project cost was about $6000.
The installation went well in March, but the gutters leak with even moderate rain. I reached out several times to try scheduling service, but did not receive a callback from John after leaving a number of messages. I was finally able to get someone to call me by contacting the national service center.
I called again in July to schedule service, which was supposed to happen today. However, the tech was unable to keep the appointment with no notification. I called 30 minutes after the appointment time and was told that I would receive a call back with an update. I called again an hour later to hear, “Oh, I just got off the phone with the tech. He won’t be able to make it today.” Seems a bit coincidental that I called just as that information came to light...an hour after my first call.
We will see if the service department can keep the rescheduled appointment for next week. I do not have high hopes. More to follow... -
The product that was installed is a cheap product which you can purchase somewhere else for a lot less than what you’d pay for with LeafFilter. When they come to your house, they give you a very unreasonable quote. The person who came to install the gutter protection was rushing to get the job done and left some gaps on the installation. My down posts were not clean properly, which it states in the contract that the installer would clean the down posts and make sure that water runs freely.
This company is a scam. I wish I had done more research on them before I let them put a poor quality product on my gutters. If you are handy or know someone who is, I suggest you buy the gutter protection somewhere and install them yourself. It will save you a lot of money. -
Overpriced and lack of Follow-up Service renders Warranty useless...With LeafFilter, you do not get what you pay for!
I purchased these gutter guards with the understanding that the warranty greatly enhanced their value. I was wrong. Because of all of the rain we have had in Maryland, I had to get my roof replaced. In order to have my roof replaced and installed pursuant to Maryland's Ice and Drip Shield requirements, the gutter guards had to be removed. I have tried unsuccessfully for two weeks to make an appointment and have someone come out and re-install the gutter guards. You are not given a direct dial number to the actual Maryland contractor. Instead you are forwarded to a 1800 number where no one calls the contractor but passively sends an email which the Maryland Contractor ignores. When the contractor finally called me back, he assured me that he would pull my file and give an estimate on the reinstall. I never heard from him. I had to call the 1800 number 3 more times before they actually connected me to the contractor to schedule an appointment time. When I spoke with the contractor, he informed me that "my file was sitting on his desk" and he had not gotten to it and was quite belligerent for no apparent reason. On the day of the reinstall,-no one confirmed the appointment or showed up. Leaf Filter's follow-up customer care is non-existent. Don't waste your money based on their promises of a warranty. It may be a quality product but it is not protecting my gutters sitting on the ground. How good can Leaf Filter be if no-one addresses your concerns or follows up with your requests. LeafFilter's customer service is unacceptable at any price, but at $2500 for a small cape cod, it is a downright "rip-off".
