House Cleaning reviews in Hanover, Maryland

I met with Jim (Regional Sales Manager) of LeafFilter and his sales approach was aggressive, and a typical salesman show and dance.
My appointment was for 11am and he arrived at 9am. My wife works from home so she answered the door and told him that I (her husband) would not be back until 11am. First red flag
When Jim arrived at 11am he wanted to come inside and give his pitch, but I told him my wife was on a conference call and it was best to talk on my front steps. He insisted that he needed my wife there which I reiterated that she is working, and I can make the decision. He said that if he goes he’s not coming back and no one can give me the price he can give - second red flag
About 10minutes into his sales pitch I asked what was the cost. He said he needed to measure the gutters first and then continued his pitch. When we finally did walk to see the gutters he had no measuring tape ( I told him what the measurements were) – 3rd red flag.
After he worked up a price and gave his “special 25% discount” – I told him I had one more contractor who was going to look at my gutters --- well Jim attitude changed and became aggressive. And he kept on bringing up me having to talk to my wife to make a decision which I don’t know WHY that was a pitching point with him. He also said, if he goes he’s not coming back and no one can give me the price he can give -
To say the least Jim has turned me away from your product and company. -
I'm happy with the product. I was impressed that the crew came out in snow & ice to install it. Because of the ice they had to take more than 1 day to do the work. It looks good, I see water flowing out of the downspout. Their ladder did crease my downspout but it was under the snow so the crew didn't realize it came out that far. Otherwise we'll see how it fairs in a wet spring and hot summer.

We had LeafFilter installed about a month ago and have been impressed so far. We previously were using gutter guards similar to the Gutter Helmet design. We are surrounded by trees so during the fall, they were constantly getting clogged with leaves. Whenever it rained, the gutters were overflowing and we had problems with water getting behind the siding. Ever since we had LeafFilter installed, we no longer have water running over the gutters or down the sides of the house. I will say it is a bit expensive but we figured the cost was worth it as the water damage from a failed gutter system would be more expensive to fix. Definitely recommend having this system installed if your budget allows.

Worst experience ever
They came and gave me an estimate
We agreed on installation date but they never show up.
When I texted the salesperson on installation date he said his team is on their way.
After 2 hrs someone called me saying they had to reschedule me to Two weeks after.
They couldn’t honor their installation date , how can they honor their warranty
Totally irresponsible!!!!!! -
This was my second experience working with leaffilter. I love this gutter product. It's a micro mesh design that only allows water through. It's professionally installed. There's a lifetime transferable warranty. The installation is a 1 day job, they're always professional and clean up afterwards. No high pressure sales pitches, this product sells itself. This is a set it and forget it product. Once it's installed you just move on with your new life where you never have to think about the gutters again.

The workers were friendly, efficient, thorough, and answered all questions I had. They cleaned up everything and there was no problem with either one.
They did a good job. I am happy with the service and the job done -
The process was easy to set up for a cleaning. The technician, Carlos, was very professional and nice. He explained the process of what he would be doing and also shared the before and after pictures with me to see.

Great service from sales to execution. Couldn't be happier with the product. They even fixed a severely damaged gutter instead of trying to upsell. Cost was not as bad as I thought. Quality material and more cost effective than replacing your entire gutters of you do not need to. So happy with the result!

Tried to use FOMO (Fear of missing out) tactics to get me to purchase a system for nearly 5k (I have the tiniest roof you have ever seen). I found out from other local contractors that their sales people regularly try to push such extreme pricing on the unknowing because the sales people get to keep the extra money. Do not go with this company. This bad behavior should not be rewarded.

I have had nearly nothing but trouble with this company since engaging them to install gutter protection. We had an addition built and opted to let Leaf Filter fabricate the new gutters in addition to putting the guards in place along the entire roof line. The total project cost was about $6000.
The installation went well in March, but the gutters leak with even moderate rain. I reached out several times to try scheduling service, but did not receive a callback from John after leaving a number of messages. I was finally able to get someone to call me by contacting the national service center.
I called again in July to schedule service, which was supposed to happen today. However, the tech was unable to keep the appointment with no notification. I called 30 minutes after the appointment time and was told that I would receive a call back with an update. I called again an hour later to hear, “Oh, I just got off the phone with the tech. He won’t be able to make it today.” Seems a bit coincidental that I called just as that information came to light...an hour after my first call.
We will see if the service department can keep the rescheduled appointment for next week. I do not have high hopes. More to follow... -
The product that was installed is a cheap product which you can purchase somewhere else for a lot less than what you’d pay for with LeafFilter. When they come to your house, they give you a very unreasonable quote. The person who came to install the gutter protection was rushing to get the job done and left some gaps on the installation. My down posts were not clean properly, which it states in the contract that the installer would clean the down posts and make sure that water runs freely.
This company is a scam. I wish I had done more research on them before I let them put a poor quality product on my gutters. If you are handy or know someone who is, I suggest you buy the gutter protection somewhere and install them yourself. It will save you a lot of money. -
Overpriced and lack of Follow-up Service renders Warranty useless...With LeafFilter, you do not get what you pay for!
I purchased these gutter guards with the understanding that the warranty greatly enhanced their value. I was wrong. Because of all of the rain we have had in Maryland, I had to get my roof replaced. In order to have my roof replaced and installed pursuant to Maryland's Ice and Drip Shield requirements, the gutter guards had to be removed. I have tried unsuccessfully for two weeks to make an appointment and have someone come out and re-install the gutter guards. You are not given a direct dial number to the actual Maryland contractor. Instead you are forwarded to a 1800 number where no one calls the contractor but passively sends an email which the Maryland Contractor ignores. When the contractor finally called me back, he assured me that he would pull my file and give an estimate on the reinstall. I never heard from him. I had to call the 1800 number 3 more times before they actually connected me to the contractor to schedule an appointment time. When I spoke with the contractor, he informed me that "my file was sitting on his desk" and he had not gotten to it and was quite belligerent for no apparent reason. On the day of the reinstall,-no one confirmed the appointment or showed up. Leaf Filter's follow-up customer care is non-existent. Don't waste your money based on their promises of a warranty. It may be a quality product but it is not protecting my gutters sitting on the ground. How good can Leaf Filter be if no-one addresses your concerns or follows up with your requests. LeafFilter's customer service is unacceptable at any price, but at $2500 for a small cape cod, it is a downright "rip-off". -
This company provides a very safe, pleasant experience. The gutter protection product was professionally installed. Detailed information had been provided before the installers arrived and the salesperson called after the job was completed to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We highly recommend the Leaf Filter Gutter Protection company.

I recommend that you call customer service to see how long it takes to talk to someone before you buy. I called several numbers and could never get through. I finally got someone to call me back and they want to charge me for someone to come out for a system that was installed in 2020. We have water gushing out of the corner of our gutter every time it storms. Do yourself a favor and buy the exact same system at Home Depot and get a handyman to install it. You will save thousands! This was not worth it!

We recently moved into a large house with complex and high elevation gutters. While we are DIY people, this job seemed too dangerous to do every few months. We had leaf filter installed for a hefty price. Please know that leaves and smaller debris from trees gets trapped on top of the stainless steel barrier they brag so much about. Once trapped, the material gets wet and becomes stuck to this layer. Please consider how much tree material will sit on TOP of this and become an obstacle to water clearance.
Update: I called the company about this issue. Our gutters have only been for 4 months and are covered in leaves. They cleaned the leaves at no charge. The technician said they will come and clean them if we call them. This is a relief since the estimates for cleaning them were in the hundreds. I hope this is true. They were responsive and aware that our house is not an ideal house for this system. -
From the beginning everything that was told to me was correct! The service they gave to our home was great. I fell that we have selected a great product that will last for many years. We have had 1 rain since the LeafFilters were put on our gutters and so for the are working as I was told. Which means to me no more getting gutters clean every year.

We had them come out to fix the problem we were having with water pouring out over the gutters onto our porch. They gave us their professional opinion on what would fix it and we had them install all new gutters on our house. That did not fix the issue. Now they want more money to fix the problem. There is no guarantee. We are not happy and will continue to tell anyone who will listen about this companyt. Our next call will be to the BBB. They agreed to change 5" gutter with a 6" gutter on porch for an additional $1800.00

They cleaned and repaired my existing gutters and then installed the leaf filter system. The system leaf filter uses is better than any other system I’ve seen advertised plus they give a transferable lifetime warranty on their product. Should the system break or clog, they will refund your money 100%! No more climbing the ladder! Great investment and added amenity to the house.

I contacted 3 gutter guard companies to get an estimate. LeafFilter called me back almost instantly upon submitting my info online, had Tip out there the next day who provided helpful information, wasn't pushy, and was easy to talk to. He showed me all the other options out there and why they were the best. Not the cheapest, but the best and come with a lifetime warranty. They had installers out here 2 days later and they completed the installation quickly, cleaned up and left the place looking cleaner than when they arrived. It hasn't rained yet but I am looking forward to seeing the difference this system will make. (Oh and by the way, I still never received a call back from the 2 other companies.) I recommend LeafFilter for their excellent customer service. It is hard to come by these days!

We researched options for 2 years and came to the conclusion that LeafFilter was just the best product - warranty, performance and even cost. The only reason we chose a 9 and not a 10 was because, while not the not expensive product on the market, if is pricey for a large ranch house such as ours. But we happy we chose LeafFilter.

To be clear, the job was done GREAT and the product is GREAT too.
The issue we have with Leaf Filter is that their rep lied and in retrospect; was predatory. We went through the process of getting gutter guards and invited 3 vendors to show us what they had and discuss the available financing for the products. Leaf FIlter came in as the lowest cost. Combine that with the great product reviews; we decided to go with them.
We discussed 2 plans. When the $254 a month was brought up; I told him that this was more than I budgeted to pay monthly. I wanted something with a lower monthly payment and then we pay on principal as capital allows. He then offered a plan with a 151.00 monthly payment but the amortization period was longer & interest rate was higher (therefore you pay more in interest). This was good enough as far as our monthly budget is concerned. We clearly were told of a plan with a monthly payment of 151.00 per month (we'd just have to pay longer).
When the first bill came is was 254.00 per month. When I called Leaf Filter to ask about the disconnect, I was passed around and was not called back. Eventually the holder of the note reached out to us seeking payment since we were only paying 151.00 so I had to get more persistent with calling leaf filter to clarify. Then I called the rep we dealt with since I was not getting anywhere calling the company. The rep, now, says he quoted the 254.00. In fact he doesn't offer a plan with a longer amortization period. After talking to someone at his company (bc I called highly upset about the deception) he said they have a plan that came in EXACTLY at the price he quoted me (all of a sudden) with a higher interest rate and longer overall payment term. He said he did not know of such a plan; but isn't it weird after all this; this is the plan that gets brought up as a remedy to the situation? The EXACT plan I have been saying that I agreed to? I think he may have gotten this plan in response to me saying the 254.00 was more than I wanted to spend per month and he forgot. For this plan to be the solution we were given; it reeks of bait and switch. Maybe they thought we would not dispute the higher payment amount, but they were wrong.
This price of 254.00 is more than the monthly price we were quoted from Thompson Creek who was going to change our infrastructure too. If I was told that 254.00 was the monthly amount; I would have went with Thompson Creek since we got more for our money and the same product guarantees and a reputable company. In hindsight; I wish we did as what I am going through has costed time and energy. What this man did was ABSOLUTELY predatory. Additionally, his unwillingness to accept the fault that was clearly his put an awful taste in my mouth. If I could get them to take their guards and reverse the whole contract; I would without hesitation.
I am the son of my elderly parents. I handled this transaction for them. Can you imagine what would have happened if they talked to my elderly parents without me present? This man thought he was dealing with lay people. I am a finance professional by trade! Numbers, budgeting, and finance is what I literally do for a living. We were told an amount that agreed with our preferred monthly payment only to have it changed after the job was complete and therefore obligated to pay. To boot, they would not accept their fault in the situation. Then they offer a consolation plan that was the exact plan I had been saying they offered to us.
Suggestion - Their product is good, but practices are flawed and can come off as deceitful or just plain fraudulent. If you go with them, get EVERYTHING in writing with their signature.
