The crew doing the ~70ft oak tree removal was awesome, especially Rick who was the tree climber. The tree had to be completely taken down by hand with tree limbs lowered individually by rope. The area was tight with the tree overhanging parts of the house and new deck, our neighbors fence, etc. No way to use a crane due to the tree location. No damage to anything and the crew thoroughly cleaned up the yard as well as my neighbor's yard. The crew was pleasant to interact with, showed up on time and completed everything by 2:00pm that day. This company is professional, caring/friendly, honest with ethical work practices. They did everything that was contracted & went above doing some small tasks related to tree maintenance. The pricing was in line with the enormous amount of work & trees that were dangerous & needed to be extracted. They indeed had a skilled & knowledgeable crew doing the work. In addition, the heavy equipment (cranes, bucket trucks, front loaders, dumpster to name a few) left my property neat & clean. Allen & Sons Tree Company deserves a AAA+++ rating. I wouldn’t use any other company for tree maintenance. Again, the owners, crew & staff were pro-active, kind & displayed integrity. Thank you Ben, Rick, crew & front office.

I hired Allen & Sons to trim some tall Cypress trees in my yard (and trim some smaller trees) that were getting close to my house and my neighbor’s house. I wanted it done before the winter season. I called, and Ben was at my house a few days later looking over everything. He emailed me a quote, and I thought the price was very reasonable for what I was asking to have done. After accepting the quote, their crew was at my house in about a week. The work was done on a Saturday, which was great because it meant that I didn’t have to take time off from work to be home while the work was done. I would definitely hire them again in the future if I need more work done. I would also recommend them to anyone who is looking to get some work done on trees on their property.

Allen and Sons did a great job for us. Ben met us on site within a few days of contacting him and helped us lay out a plan. His crews came on time the day the work was scheduled and did an excellent job. Very efficient and professional.

Allen and Sons Tree Service has been around for a long time, and it's easy to see why. They have fair prices, the right equipment, and courteous, skilled workers. I had several, 50-year-old trees, plus one tree that was ready to fall into the road, and they were all removed or trimmed within an hour. The estimate and scheduling process was easy, and the owner was there to supervise and inspect. I highly recommend their services.

If you need trees trimmed these guys are the ones to go to! They are incredibly professional and responsive, they have an excellent staff that takes the time to understand what you need done. They are fully insured and really take tremendous care to not damage your property.

The Allen and Sons team trimmed several 60ft oak trees that had massive limbs hanging directly over my home and did not damage any of my property. They cleaned the property by raking and actually left my yard cleaner than it was when they showed up. Excellent service all around I highly recommend working with them.

Ben, Rick, and their team are phenomenal. We were unfortunate enough to have damage from a recent storm. During a time when multiple things are going wrong, it was nice to be able to engage with a company that didn’t require oversight. They were responsive, showed up when they said they would (which was quick), completed the job above and beyond, and left our yard looking better than it did before the storm. Highly recommend them!

The early morning windstorm of Monday, February 17, 2025 in northeast Baltimore (Hamilton) up rooted an enormous pine tree, planted next to our house on Evergreen Ave., and brought it down on top of our roof. Our house is on the edge of a hill and the base of the tree was downhill between our house and our neighbor’s to our right. There is not a lot a of distance between these houses so despite the 40 to 50 mph wind gusts the tree did not crush the house, but remained leaning and rocking on the edge of the roof. We discovered this just after dawn on Feb 17 and realized something had to be done fast before more damage was done. Fortunately there is a very active facebook page in our neighborhood and I soon had a recommendation for Allen & Sons for tree removal ( a few more recommendations for Allen & Sons came in later in the day. )

I immediately called Ben Allen and he came over to inspect the situation later on Monday morning and, recognizing this was an urgent matter, prioritized the removal of the tree from the roof of the house. This was not an easy operation since there was no easy access to the base of the tree in the valley between the two houses. Fortunately our neighbor to our left had a wide yard between their house and ours so it was possible to bring equipment in on that side of our house. Starting before 8am on Tuesday Allen and Sons brought in two heavy duty trucks, one a tall crane to reach over our house to hold the tree steady, while a bucket truck hoisted a worker up to where they could start cutting the pine into sections so that it could be safely hoisted over our house and deposited on our left hand neighbor’s lawn. A truck towing a chipper was also involved to handle the disposal of the tree. All in all it required 3 trucks and around 8 men, including the skilled crane operator, to get the job done. The job was finished by early afternoon on Tuesday including the clean up of our neighbors lawn where the pine tree sections had been cut into smaller pieces and chipped. It was quite an operation.

We wish to commend the crew at Allen and Sons for a very prompt, courteous and professional handling of the situation. While there was some damage to the roof it was much less than what could have happened had they not been so prompt -- the high winds returned on Wednesday and it was good that the tree was no longer there on top of the house.

We would particularly like to commend the clear communication that Ben and Courtney, the front office manager, maintained throughout the experience. We could always check what was going on and get a quick reply, with any questions we had answered clearly.

They were also very helpful in explaining the intricacies of the situation to our insurance company which ended up covering the entire cost of the operation minus our deductible.

It was an emergency and we didn’t have time for comparison bids so it’s hard to comment on the price but we are very satisfied with the job done by Allen and Sons Tree Service. We would use them again.

This is the 2nd time I've used Allen & Sons and they didn't disappoint. During the walk through for the estimate they listened and offered suggestions and when the estimate arrived it was exactly what we discussed. They arrived on time, was mindful of my property because they had to go into the backyard and left the property in good, clean condition. Their customer service is top notch. I would highly recommend Allen and Sons Tree Services to anyone looking for a professional tree removal company. On May 28, 2025, my neighbor's tree fell on my property and totally blocked my entrance to my back porch, back yard and the right side of my house 🏡 Once the company was contacted, Mr. Ben Allen came to assess the tree situation and thoroughly explained to me what the removal would entail. On the afternoon of Saturday, May 31, 2025, l returned home to find a beautiful cleaned back porch and yard. The assigned Crew did an awesome job. I'm grateful for this company and the quality of service they provided. As previously stated, l highly recommend Allen and Sons Tree Services. Kudos to a great company!!

Terrible company, damages your vehicles and customers vehicles, go with someone more professional that takes responsability for their actions. If i could give a 0 star I would, dont trust them!

They do a terrible job. They went behind my garden border and used the weed eater which took out one of my flowers. A few years ago they destroyed 2 of my automatic landscape lights. I could not find any of the pieces anywhere.

James has been continuously working with us and the County to resolve a drain issue that is causing grading problems. My experience has been top notch! I couldn’t be happier with James and his family business!
