MC Appliances is a third-party company that Sears hires out to do the repair work on their extended warranties on products. Back in April and May, my washer and dryer needed repaired. It was nearly a 2 month process to make this happen. They give you a 4hr window in which their repairmen are supposed to show up. On many instances, they did not make the time window, and in others, they would simply call and cancel and attempt to re-schedule. In the beginning of the year when this happened, they would order parts and have them sent to the wrong address, only delaying the repair process by an additional week, simply to go through another re-scheduling process. I was losing my mind at the time, as I had never in my life experienced such horrific customer service from a company.

That was then... fast forward to now.

My washing machine needs repaired again. Sears puts me in touch with this same company again, MC Appliances. They were scheduled to come out last Thursday, September 28th. I waited 4hrs, just for them to say the address on file was incorrect, and they would re-schedule for the next day. They didn't show up that day either, but instead, re-scheduled me for today. No surprise, this morning, I get a phone call saying they need to re-schedule to yet, another day. I ask to speak to a supervisor, one is not available. After nobody calls me back, as promised, I call again in the afternoon. Again, no supervisor. Frustrated again, and blown away that this is happening again, I go online and google search the company to find dozens and dozens of the exact complaints from other consumers! My mind is blown. Then, I go to the Better Business Bureau site, and to no surprise now, see that they are graded an "F". This company needs to be shut down. I do not understand how Sears uses them to do their repair work. It also makes me wonder if Sears is even aware of how the company fails to operate. I will be taking this matter to ABC News and reaching out to "7 on Your Side". I've already filed my complaint with the BBB. Perhaps this all will help to expose this company.

They are the worst technicians. I got them because my warranty provider sent them. You can never get a hold of them. They are rude. They are not only incompetent, but they lack intelligence. You talk to them and they don't seem to understand basic things.
They wanted to install a white door on my stainless steel washer and said that the part could not be ordered in the right color. I had to order it myself because they couldn't understand. I tried to give them the phone number of the place to order it and they were very stubborn. People like that shouldn't be in business. Don't use them ever!

Technician didn’t show up 2 times in a row. Manager isn’t helpful. Customer service rep makes excuses and doesn’t resolve issues. Tech came out to diagnose. Waited 1 month for the part, came back and then said he needs 2 more parts. Has yet to keep appointment to get parts replaced. Whirlpool should be ashamed to do business with them

IS THERE ZERO STAR RATING: Bosch Dishwasher repair - Visit 1: Diagnose and recommend repair. Advise warranty company will only pay for part and not 2 man job and new hose. Represented this will repair the dishwasher. (INitial complaint - would not drain.) Visit 2 - Charged 225.00. They left and dishwasher still did not work. They now stated I had to call the warranty company to make a new claim. Warranty company sent them back out. Visit 3: Now they claim it is something else. THEY MISDIAGNOSED and potentially misrepresented the position of the warranty company. After the fact, The warranty company indicates they do not recommend paying them before calling the warranty company back to confirm. Now I am stuck with a dishwasher that does not work and $225.00 less than when I started. I am pursuing of the reimbursement of charges based on misrepresentation and failure to perform. Based on prior ratings I assume I will be met with resistance.

I pay for good service, for professionalism, and actual know how all of which MC Appliance Repairs has none of. After having to wait 16 days for our appointment for a broken oven, the “supervisor” Micheal arrives at 2pm checks the circuit breaker and begins to leave. He said he “may” need to order a part to repair it, while repeatedly telling me to call Whirlpool because that’s who I have the warranty through. This is a brand new purchased in 2020 whirlpool stove. He had no idea what he was doing, no idea how to communicate, and no idea what to tell me as it pertains to my stove. I asked if he could physically buy the part to see if that was the problem because it had already been over two weeks since we’ve been able to use the stove and you’re saying the part that “may” fix it will take 7 days to get to you. I have absolutely no desire to ever deal with this company again. I am going to do what he repeatedly told me to do, call whirlpool and urge them that they need to end their contract with MC appliance repair or afford me an entirely new stove because that company is not entering my home again.

Our new house came with a Jenn-Air commercial quality stove that needed repair. The Jenn-Air service line scheduled us with MC Appliance Repair after our usual appliance service couldn’t resolve the issue. Mike came out, easily diagnosed the problem, then ordered and installed the replacement parts ahead of schedule. Even through two delays (due to flash flooding and a defective part - neither their fault) they were professional, friendly, and communicative. Would recommend them and plan to use them again.

We had two different repairs done... one to the dishwasher and one to the refrigerator. Leo, the technician, arrived within the time frame, showed me the problem, and did the work quickly and efficiently . The repairs were done under warranty from Lowes. We would use MC again.

My oven broke a month ago. I've had three visits from MC Appliance Repair technicians in that time. They weren't able to come faster. One delay was because they were ordering a part. Then another when they said they needed to reorder that part (they concluded the first one was defective). One appointment they never showed up for.

Today they tell me the problem is actually electrical. The oven is probably fine. Oops! Somehow the first two guys never checked if the electricity was working.

This company is the worst! I'm trying to figure out why the warranty company continues to send them when clients are unhappy. I needed a tech to look at my dryer because it was overheating. When the tech arrived, he asked about our problem. We explained that the dryer gets too hot. His response was "It's a dryer. What do you expect?" That was unnecessarily rude. To make matters worse, this tech called my warranty company and told them that we had "tampered" with our dryer thereby taking it out of warranty. I now have to wrangle with the warranty company to cover my repairs. My dryer was emitting smoke from the back of it so we pulled the appliance away from the wall and removed the back of it so that it wouldn't catch on fire. We hadn't touched anything else on the dryer except for the removal of the lint trap (again to ensure it didn't catch on fire).

I have had the most horrible experience with this company then i could ever recall. Extremely unreliable, do not show up on-time, very incompetent. I was referred to them thought a sub, sub contracter by Sears to fix my range. The first technician came and assess and determined that my wires was chewed out and needed to be replaced. He came back the following week claiming at the finish that another problem exist, and I needed to have my Control panel replaced. So we set another appointment, a different tech came out to replace the panel. He left because the rewiring was not done by the previous technician. He claimed that their technician put in a pallet switch. But no pallet switch was every put in by the tech. Their whole purpose of this company was to work was too milk Sears by marking bogus claims work that they did not do. After one-month not having an oven and many sears rep's I spoke with rep name Ray at "customer solution" put in contact with the person Sears finally heard my cry. A Sears technician will be out soon.

MC Appliances Repair is the company contracted by KitchenAid to do repairs in my area. The technician showed up after the 4 hour appointment window and barely inspected the appliance (for an $85 consultation fee).

I confirmed that I wanted to schedule a repair. The technician said he would order the parts immediately, and that MC Appliances Repair's office would reach out within the week to schedule a follow up time for the actual service call. The office never called. I followed up, and the office couldn't understand why I was disappointed in their service.

From their online reviews, it seems like their M.O. is charging an $85 fee to come to your house, do nothing, and then disappear. I would highly suggest avoiding MC Appliances Repair.

I had an appointment with MC appliance thru Home Depot to repair my Samsung ice maker 25 Feb 2020, between the hours of 9-1 pm. The tech showed up at 3:00 pm two hours late stayed for five minutes, telling me that that model Samsung has had problem and he would have to order parts. Well later on during the week I got an email from Home Depot saying the case was closed but no reason was given. During the two hours I was waiting I called MC appliance and talked with a Norma whom kept given me different times rudely when the tech would arrive. So I then called Home Depot to make a formal complaint which was my right after waiting two hours past the allotted time frame. Well I guess MC appliance decided to one up me and close the case. I don’t normally write reviews but this company MC appliance is the most unprofessional company I have had the pleasure or should I say the unpleasant time of dealing with. They have cost me time and money losing a day of work and losing time calling Home Depot again to resolve this issue. This company again as I stated is very unprofessional and I would not recommend you doing business with them!

Wish I would have looked up this company before wasting my money hiring them. My fridge should be under warranty. Warranty told me I needed to contact this company to have them look at it. I explained to this company I already had someone come out and work on it and I just wanted them to check it out because warranty said this was one of the few "authorized repair companies" The receptionist set up the appointment anyway. When the tech came he said, "oh someone else already worked on this unit so it likely won't be covered by warranty. However I will call and check on it for you and let you know. " That of course never happened and when I called back to ask about this the receptionist told me it's their company policy that when someone else works on the unit they wont. So they didn't even check with warranty and just took my money for nothing, full well knowing they wouldn't work it on after someone else when I explained all that upfront.

I am not sure how many people they have on staff, but the customer service for this company is horrible. I have a whirpool appliance and when I was scheduled for a repair, they initially only could send someone 3 weeks after my call. This is unacceptable seeing that they are fixing major appliances that people use on a daily basis. When the tech came out the first time, he repaired on part on my refrigerator and left, not explaining anything. A month later, the same issue is happening. The tech did not take the time to thoroughly look at my refrigerator the first time to see what was wrong. I am shocked that a major appliance company would be using the subpar company as their major repair company because they are not helpful at all!

Customer service said the technician would arrive between 10am and 3pm. He was late both times and arrived after 3pm. This disrupted picking up kids at school. The technician misled us. I called the customer service each time the technician was late. Customer service was dismissive and treated me poorly...I had to schedule 2 appointments, one to determine what parts were needed and 1 to install the parts. The technician said he would be able to return the same week to install the new parts for appointment #2. When I called customer service to schedule, I was told I had to wait 1 week for the installation (and they could not do it the same week). I suggest never using this company. There are many certified repair persons. Most work as individuals. I will not use this company again.

They are HORRIBLE. I have been dealing with them since December 2017 regarding the repair of my GE dishwasher. It is still not repaired. They were supposed to fix the dishwasher on January 8, 2018 but called on January 5, 2018 to cancel because the parts reportedly had not been delivered. They pushed back the appointment to January 26, 2018; they called on January 25, 2018 to once again cancel the appointment because they were reportedly waiting on the parts to be delivered. They finally come to my home on January 30, 2018 to realize that the parts they ordered and installed did not resolve the issue and my dishwasher was still not working.

A master technician came to my home on February 2, 2018 to figure out what was wrong. Initially, he tried to tell me the reason my dishwasher was not working was because it was not getting any power. He tried to demonstrate with the outlet that my coffee maker was plugged into how the multi-meter is supposed to read electricity. His reader read 0 as if the outlet had no power; however, I had just made coffee so I knew that his multi-reader was incorrect. Come to find out he had it on the wrong dial. Once corrected he noticed that the dishwasher was in fact getting power.

He finally figured out the problem and told me the parts that would have to be replaced. They are supposed to be coming to my home on February 16, 2018 to make the repairs. I have very little faith in this company and based on their pattern, I would not be surprised if the parts supposedly don't arrive and the repair is pushed back to March.

I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in addition to any agency in PG County Government that addresses companies that operate as poorly as this company.

My parents refrigerator broke down. I reported it to whirlpool and they assigned the work to them. The guy came on Friday and confirmed the compressor had gone out and said he would go to get authorization for the repair. I call on Monday and the woman answered. I explained the situation and asked for an update. She said they don’t do those repairs and to talk to whirlpool. I asked if they informed whirlpool. She said they know. I talked to whirlpool the next day and we discover that they didn’t inform whirlpool at all and closed the work ticket as though they completed it. I was incredibly disappointed in the work and business ethics of this company and I would encourage anyone else to steer clear of them.

This company is a rip off. They try to rip you off for doing warranty repair work covered by the manufacturer. They were supposed to come out to replace a ripped seal on my refrigerator door. They wanted to charge me a diagnostic fee of $120 for opening the refrigerator door to see the seal split, there is no diagnostic here, you're supposed to replace the seal its broken. There's nothing to figure out here, its not like they were trying to figure out why the ice box isn't working, or water leaking, or anything.

I understand most people aren't going to hire MC Appliances Repair directly, and we also engaged them through Whirlpool due to our warranty. But I am very happy with the service. The time window we selected on Whirlpool's website was already booked, but their scheduler found us an even earlier availability. Our technician, Leo, arrived right on time and diagnosed the problem within minutes. Because the problem is common, he had the replacement part on his truck and was able to get our washing machine running again less than half an hour after his arrival. He even preemptively addressed another common issue that can go wrong in our model and showed me the source and the fix. No question of charge since it's under warranty. We would be happy to work with MC Appliances Repair again.
