John Stavlas of Stavlas Home Inspections is an excellent resource to have on your side when buying a home. He is extremely knowledgeable about all home systems and takes the time to explain the things you need to know before buying a home. His inspections are thorough -- he doesn't miss a thing -- and his reports are equally detailed. He is also very responsive to requests for appointments and gets his reports finished by the next day at the latest -- something we very much appreciated. I would highly recommend him!

John Stavlas was extremely professional from beginning to end with his inspection. Scheduling and billing were a breeze. My realtor, wife and I were all present at the inspection and John took time through the whole inspection to describe everything he was inspecting and ensure we understood everything. John was able to explain to me concepts of the home inspection that I didn't have experience with, in a way I could understand, he was able to do this in a very well-spoken and methodical description, I was very impressed with not only his knowledge but his ability to convey it to someone who is unfamiliar with the topic. I was able to follow up with John with questions when applying for my home insurance and John was able to answer my questions quickly and accurately. His report was delivered to me same day and was extremely detailed and easy to find information with his table of contents. John Stavlas inspected a home in DC that my wife and I purchased in February 1924. The report was extremely thorough, informative, and easy to read and understand. However, I have had some challenges with leaks and equipment malfunction since my wife and I have moved in this past summer. I have reached out to John to get information on how to proceed with these issues and he has been incredibly helpful and very responsive, always answering his phone or getting back to me by text. As any homeowner would know, being able to reach out to somebody who’s more knowledgeable is PRICELESS…. I couldn’t recommend any company as highly as I recommend Stavlas Home Inspection Services. John did an amazing job. He spent three hours inspecting a relatively small house. I don’t think there was a detail about the house that he missed. He went on the roof, into the attic, checked
all the outlets and inspected the windows for leakage

John, came well equipped to inspect both the structural integrity and the safety of the new construction my family is purchasing. He noted and explained to me, a potentially major item, two moderate impact items, a dozen low impact items, and an epic pile of cosmetic imperfections. Some of the items could have become hugely impactful if they had been allowed to fester for a year or two. And some while having no impact on the structure itself, could have been extremely dangerous if my toddler or kindergartner had encountered them. I especially appreciate him finding the screw sticking out of a cupboard an inch from the floor, and the trim on the kitchen island which looked perfectly fine at a glance, but upon wiggling was proven to be secured by a single nail, as the other three had completely missed the studs. John's expertise caught these issues through a detailed meticulousness that had him touching, testing, gently tugging, taking pictures of, and documenting everything in every room of the house. I did a pre drywall inspection where we identified some issues that were resolved prior to closing. We also did a pre move in inspection. John took ample time to discuss with me all the details of my new home, took hundreds of pictures to include drone pictures of the roof of the home.
