Constraction reviews in Silver Spring, Maryland

Amir and team were great from start to finish. Quick communication, very professional, and most importantly Amir went above and beyond with our repairs to both interior and exterior features of our house. They will be my go to for future renovations!

We hired James B Remodeling for a flooring job in our basement. Communication was excellent throughout. Amir was responsive and made useful suggestions. And most importantly, we're happy with the quality of the teams' work. I recommend them without hesitation.

I have used James B Remodeling multiple times for their handyman services. They provide quality workmanship, timely delivery, and flexible scheduling. The staff is knowledgeable, talented, and thorough. I will definitely use them again.

James B Remodeling did outstanding work on a full kitchen remodel, including knocking down two walls, installing new cabinets, appliances, lighting, windows, doors, flooring & tile. He constructed a new mudroom & main-level washer/dryer for us. Sanded and refinished front door, capped old HVAC ducts, repaired two exterior porches and painted nearly the entire interior of our home. Quality exceeded our expectations, work was done fast-- just 7 weeks, & Amir and his team were a pleasure to work with.

James B Remodeling helped us visualize our space and select finishes with 3D drawings of the layout, color choices, tile, lighting, & furniture placement. Work began a week early and crew arrived at 8:30am each day, working sometimes until 6pm to get the job done.

Amir brought in an engineer to certify the removal of non-load bearing walls. When his crew discovered that a previous owner had cut through a different load bearing wall, they opened up 3 adjacent walls, installed double vertical beams and a supporting truss in the ceiling to ensure the safety and integrity of our home.

The price was more than fair for the amount and quality of work that was done. We are so happy that we hired James B Remodeling!!

Amir and James B. Remodeling did a superb job on our full (and somewhat complicated) basement renovation. At every step of the way, Amir was professional, responsive, honest, responsible and kind. These are words I would expect to be able to use with any contractor, but we've been through our share, and Amir is far above any others.

Most importantly, Amir and his team delivered! Our new basement is even better than we had hoped for!

A friend recommended James B Remodeling for our kitchen work and we are so happy we asked her advice. James B Remodeling did a great job on our kitchen remodel. We wanted to keep our cabinets but upgrade the flooring and lighting. Amir was wonderful in helping us figure out what would work with our layout and to add ceiling and under cabinet lighting to brighten up the kitchen. He was super responsive and easy to work with throughout the process. The crew was professional and kept everything tidy while they worked. The quality of the work was fantastic, scheduled and completed quickly, and the cost was very reasonable. They repaired and painted our brick fireplace and it turned out exactly as we wanted. We will be working with James B Remodeling on other upgrades to our house.

We used James B Remodeling to retile around our gas fireplace. I was so impressed with the attention to detail with the tile work that when it came time to redo a bathroom we used them again. The tile job did not disappoint and it was not an easy job. The tile was on the smaller side and stacked instead of offset, so precision was key. They worked with me whenever something came up to find a solution (our walls are far from straight). The guys were respectful and a pleasure to work with each day. The project was done on time and on budget.

We hired Lagunas Construction for a master bathroom remodeling project based on recommendations from neighbors in Chevy Chase, DC and we could not be more pleased. Lagunas remodeled our original 1930 tiny master bathroom into a larger lovely new bathroom that is still to period of the house but now much more functional. The owner, Luis Laguna, and his crew worked quickly, kept a very neat workplace and were totally communicative throughout the project. I could not more highly recommend them. They are a small, local business that does excellent work at reasonable prices."

We used Laguna's Construction for a major home renovation this year and can't wait to work with them again. The team is professional, courteous, reliable and delivers great results. I would highly recommend them to others.

Luis and his team were incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable about the work they did in my new home. They answered all my questions and more, and went above and beyond when we found unexpected issues. Their work is top quality and fairly priced! I would recommend Luis to anyone looking for a full suite contractor.

Luis & Edwin are my favorite contractors. I almost don't want to leave a review because then they'll be too busy for me! They have done everything in my house from renovating my basement, new flooring, electrical work, drywall, roof repairs... you name it, they can do it! And they are very easy to work with and get the job done well for a reasonable price. Honestly, I can't say enough wonderful things about this team.

Laguna Construction LLC has been the most reliable contractor we’ve worked with, far exceeding our past experiences. The contractor ensured his crew consistently showed up on time and maintained excellent communication throughout the entire project. He demonstrated a strong understanding of our condominium’s structure, which contributed to the beautiful outcome of our renovation. We’re extremely pleased with our new kitchen, bathroom, and the updated flooring in both bedrooms. We highly recommend Laguna Construction LLC and will definitely work with them again for any future projects.

Luis and staff were top notch. They completely remodeled our condo (kitchen, bath, floors, lighting, partial wall removal) and were very detail-oriented and timely. Luis also had some great ideas in the planning stage.

Laguna’s Construction completely renovated my 50-year old condo. Luis Laguna and his team did an amazing job. They are extremely hardworking and courteous. The team’s attention to detail is extraordinary. Luis is very knowledgeable and he stays on top of the project from planning through execution. Luis and his team are totally trustworthy and I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Luis and his team at Laguna's Construction did a great job reconstructing my basement after a recent flooding issue. They really listened to my needs, provided good advice and went above and beyond with finishing touches. The entire team exudes kindness. They also surprised me by being able to start the project 3 days earlier than scheduled, and knocking the whole project out in less than 5 days (the contract had promised 2-3 weeks). I will absolutely use them again, and I hope that next time it is for an upgrade instead of restoration.

The Laguna team did a great job renovating our condo on a very short time frame. Luis is very knowledgable about what can be done with respect to all aspects: electrical, plumbing, trim, etc. Working in an older building can be a challenge; they met it and did great work! I would definitely recommend!

This guy is scam. He runs around acting like a contractor which he is not. He is a low level handyman who is trying to take advantage of people who have no idea of how the contracting business works. He talks over you and doesn't stop talking unless you cut him off. He tries to convince you by talking more about himself than the job he is supposed to do. And if he knew that it is a project that he can take advantage of some how you won't see him again but he keeps you hanging telling you that he is waiting to hear from his contractors. He wasted my time I don't want him to waste yours. Be aware of this scam. I don't recommend this man to no body

Billy is a fun and good man who may personally do good work but who cannot keep his word because he relies on day workers to further the verbal commits he makes. His intentions are good but he lacks the infrastructure to be more than a one man band.

Do not employ this company. Billy Mulcaire is dishonest, incompetent, rude, unprofessional and fraudulent with laughable “workmanship.” He overcharged me $2600) to install metal flashing on my balcony railing to prevent water from leaking into the apt below. The work looked absolutely terrible- uneven, bumpy, with ridges and pockets that would collect water and dirt. I asked him to fix it and he tried to charge me another $1000! I strongly suspect he would never have done that to a man. The work didn’t even last six months, and now I’m left with a PVC layer he put on top that’s raised an inch in places, with dips in others that collect puddles and dirt. The trim fell off, and it looks terrible. I asked Billy to fix it and he insulted me and said he wouldn’t touch it. Worst contractor and worst human being I have ever encountered in my life.

I've never dealt with such professionalism with a company that I have with Kingcaire Construction. They were extremely friendly and helpful. I had a budget in place and thanks to Mr. Mulcaire, I was also able to add some extra units. I'm ever so greatful and very happy with the high standards of the finished product. I would highly reccomend his services to anyone in need of a good contractor.

Mr. Mulcaire and his team renovated both bathrooms in my condo, and did an excellent job. Very happy with how the bathrooms turned out, and the work came at a very fair price The team were punctual and professional throughout the job. Would definitely recommend and hire again for any other home improvements.
