Alex and his team have performed a lot of work on our house, all of it with great results. We recently moved to a single family home in the Kensington area after living in DC in large buildings. Our current house, however, was not without need for improvement (as is common in the area). Alex was recommended to us by a friend and has been our go-to for a number of repairs and projects. The largest projects have been a remodel of our master bath and a remodel of our half-bath, both of which were performed quickly, professionally, and have resulted in great improvements to the look and function of our home. Additionally, their smaller repairs and projects, such as installation of fans and exterior lighting, have improved the comfort and safety of our home. Their professionalism and amiability are equal to their workmanship, and they performed their work with the utmost respect of our home. I do not hesitate to recommend them.

Alex and his team are wonderful! We have used them for over 5 years now and have had nothing but great experiences every time. They are honest, responsive, helpful and genuinely good workers. We have been happy with the results each time we’ve called them. They have painted, assessed and repaired drywall/caulking from a leak, reattached falling gutters and siding, put in a new mailbox post, and repaired doors and doorknobs. I call them knowing I will get an honest assessment, quote and recommendation for a reasonable price. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

A friend referred me to Alex and I was very happy she did. After an expensive repair to a waste pipe, I was left with holes from floor to ceiling. Alex responded quickly, and a day after sending me an estimate, he had a crew repairing the drywall (and plaster) walls. The repairs were completed quickly and professionally and my walls look great. I will definitely contact him again for future work.

Alex (owner) did a great job fixing our exterior house trim and caulking our bathroom. He was quick to respond to our request, provide an estimate, and schedule the work right away. As much as I like DIY, sometimes you need a pro to get on your roof and handle sensitive projects - Alex was the right guy for the job!

Tamar Home Services are the best handymen you could ask for. We have used them twice so far and I know we will call them many more times for whatever we need done in our house in the future. We never need to worry about finding a good handyman ever again! They've done really excellent drywall for us in the past, and most recently they addressed some water damage/window caulking issues and some other general repairs. Alex is always extremely clear with what he's going to do, and he keeps you updated throughout the day. He is genuinely invested in making sure your home is in a better state than when he arrives. The work is always top notch from start to finish, thoughtful, professional, thorough -- and so is the clean up! You will be more than satisfied, we can't recommend Tamar Home Services highly enough. We have used Tamar Services on a few projects now and I have to say impressed just doesn’t cover it. Seems like we have found so many unreliable and untrusting contractors in the past. Glad we kept looking because this company is one I have no problem recommending! Great work, listens to clients, doesn’t waste time, punctual, organized, clean workspace, and on and on…..

I had a great experience working with Alex at Tamar Home Services. He was easy to communicate with and he took the time to understand the project and actually listen to the problems I was having and my budget as well. He provided different recommendations based on those factors and let me choose what I wanted out of the options. Alex helped me fix a structural problem with my shed door frame.

Alex and his helper from Tamar Home Services performed some miscellaneous jobs in and around the new home I recently purchased.
Although, he mostly handles big projects such as kitchen and bathroom remodeling, door replacement, etc. I had him come in for random work such as installing drapery rods, shower curtain rods, hand towel rings/rods, door mirrors, put silicon caulking next to the sinks, repaint my house number, and clean out my dryer vent.
He showed up on time, was very knowledgeable and professional. He offered some great suggestions and advice for my home. I found him to be very honest, helpful, responsive, polite, courteous, and he charges reasonably.

He’ll soon be replacing my storm and patio doors, installing new lock and handle for my gate and doing some electrical work as well. Highly recommend him!

We’ve been in the area for almost five years and we cannot recommend Alex and his team enough. I’m not sure there’s anything they can’t do! The work from Tamar is always exemplary. Alex is thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. Your home and your projects are in the best possible hands here.

Alex and Jorge have done work on my condo three times now. Each time I reach out, Alex responds almost immediately and is able to have someone come out the same week. Alex came out for an estimate the day after I contacted him and the team was here with all the supplies two days later. They do excellent quality work, are quiet and professional (I work from home), and are fast. The prices are always more than fair and the team is extremely reliable. Alex and his team did a great job on our project. They repainted our front porch, all the trim and shutters, repaired some damaged trim on doors and windows, painted our deck and gazebo, and fixed our fence. They also did power washing of our brick. They even fixed a door that would often stick even though other contractors said it couldn’t be fixed. Alex was very responsive throughout the project, and his team were extremely professional and courteous. We are very pleased with our new outdoor look and will reach out to Tamar Home Services for future projects.

Alex and his team did a fantastic job on the exterior of my home—painting door and shutters, railing repair and painting, caulking, cleaning soffits, etc. They were on time, detail-oriented, efficient, clean and tidy, and very quiet. Alex was responsive throughout the whole process, which couldn't have been easier. His team replaced an exterior door, replaced a custom kitchen exhaust fan, repaired a bathroom floor threshold, and installed closet fixtures (and he even found an easier, smaller solution to our closets than what we were planning!) We are so happy with the team's work--they were efficient, courteous and thorough.
