Reviews of local pros in Silver Spring, Maryland

Tom and his team did a fantastic job pruning and shaping the trees on our property. Tom also was able to diagnose and treat a pesticide problem on our trees and give us next steps to ensure healthy growth. Very impressed with his expertise and would highly recommend.

Tom's team did a great job taking down our cherry tree in tight quarters on our rowhouse lot. We were away when the work was done, but came back to the tree gone, the stump ground, and all of the existing shrubbery untrampled. Their price was also half of the competition's. Recommend!

We contacted Potomac River Arborists on the recommendations of our neighbors. They did a magnificent job of pruning and shaping our trees. Tommy is (obviously) very knowledgeable, gave us useful advice, and took the time to answer all our questions. Their quote was lower than all the other bids we got and the crew cleaned up so thoroughly that we seriously considered paying extra for the "above and beyond" service they provided. Give them a call -- you won't regret it!

PRA came in to take down a tree and trim some others. I was a little worried for them because there was not much flat ground around the tree and the way to the tree was crowded, but they managed to do it without any complaint. The crew was friendly, professional and efficient.

The crew at Potomac River Arborists did a fantastic job for us at our golf course! They showed up on time, worked quickly and professionally and did a great job on clean up. We couldn't be happier with our decision to use this company for our tree removal project!

Pleased with the advice we received during our initial meeting, overall cost, interactions with the staff, efficiency of the crew, and the great job the crew did cleaning up. Excellent experience from beginning to end.

I can’t say enough good things about Potomac River Arborists. The crew that performed the work was extremely professional. They did an excellent job with my tree removal and stump grinding, leaving the yard cleaner than they found it. This all came at a price lower than other quotes I received. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for future work!

Potomac River Arborists deserve every one of the 5 star reviews they receive. We recently sustained a LOT of downed limbs during a storm -- our yard was a mess, and the clean-up task seemed quite daunting to us. I contacted the company on a Sunday and by Monday morning, they had completed the job -- and completed it beautifully. We are so impressed and appreciative.

I used Potomac River Arborists to cut down and remove a very large, near dead tree located right next to my house and the street. The crew did a fantastic job from start to finish. They arrived on time and worked 10 hours. Considering how close the tree was to my house and my neighbor's, I felt total confidence all would be well. The crew worked as a team by communicating and exchanging ideas on the removal itself. They had specific roles within the team and helped one another. And they were kind and friendly to the passers-by and to me. Late in the day, the owner stopped by to check on his crew's work. Nice touch!

PRA did a fantastic job for us in cutting back our fig tree and removing a tree stump. Our fig tree is well-established and quite famous in the neighbourhood! Being its new owners we were nervous about maintaining it effectively. PRA advised on the work needed to help it fruit and keep its future growth as healthy as possible. The process from quoting to getting the work completed was very quick and easy. Everything now looks great and we will definitely use them in future and recommend them to others.

Tom Fitzgerald and his crew are efficient and demonstrated care and concern for our property adjacent to the tree being removed. The expertise was evident and worth the cost of the project. Another estimate was lower, but Potomac River Arborists instilled a high level of confidence and a sense of professionalism which we valued and appreciated. We have used this firm for another project and are very pleased with the results. we highly recommend Potomac River Arborists.

Potomac River Arborists did a great job removing/trimming trees in our yard. They were great to work with and scheduled the job very quickly. Highly recommend!

The team at Potomac River Arborists were absolutely great. They showed up on time for the estimate, and for the tree removal and trimming services. The arborist that came to assess my yard was super knowledgeable about the trees in my yard and what needed to be trimmed and what didn't. They were efficient and when they left, you wouldn't have noticed a wood chip in my yard!! They cleaned up the entire space and did a phenomenal job.
I feel much more safe because the dead trees are now down and my other trees are well taken care of and trimmed up.
I would recommend them to anyone in the area looking to have work done on your trees!
I will continue to use them in the future as well to help manage the trees in my yard.
They were GREAT!!!

Tom and his team were wonderful! Arrived on time, with a positive attitude. Throughout the 2 days of work, they were courteous, professional, meticulous, and well organized. They were respectful of the property, clearing even the smallest of debris they created. Julie in the office was always responsive and a thorough professional! It is a challenge to come by a business as professional as Potomac Arborists. We will work with them both for our home and business as well. Highly recommend this business!

Potomac River was great. They took a tree down and trimmed a very large oak tree for me. They completed the job in less than a day and cleaned up so it looked like they were never there.

Working with Potomac River Arborists was a pleasure.
The process was seamless from estimate to completion of the work. Tom and his crew trimmed a large Magnolia, two Crepe Myrtles and two Maple trees and did an excellent job. They showed up as scheduled, reviewed the scope of work, and got right to work. They consulted with us as they went along and reviewed the work at completion. They removed all of the debris and left our property very clean. The cost of the project was extremely fair. We would highly recommend Potomac River Arborists.

The team did a fantastic job pruning and removing some oaks and maples. They left the job site cleaner than when they arrived. They were very professional and helpful in answering any question that I had.

An efficient, engaged, and expert team. Potomac River Arborists has helped keep our trees healthy and gorgeous. The crew came on time and worked effectively and safely, bringing sunlight back to our yard. No complaints, will call again!

Great experience from initial request for quote through project completion. Pricing was reasonable with no upsell pressure for added scope. The crew was timely and courteous and cleaned up nicely. Highly recommend Potomac River Arborists.

Our HOA has on several occasions received tree cutting and removal services from Potomac River Arborists. We have also received a consultation from their arborist Tom to identify the cause of several dying trees. They are professional, the work is high quality, and the prices are very reasonable. We will certainly use them again!

I can't recommend Potomac River Arborists more highly. Seamus took great care to understand the scope of work before a bid was offered--taking photos and making measurements. Communications with Julie about preparations we (and our neighbor) needed to make and about scheduling were easy and quick. When the time came to do the work, Seamus and Jeffrey were careful and thorough in working with the lift operator/sawyer to arrange the complicated pruning of several large, hazardous limbs from a very tall tree in our backyard. Seamus brought exceptional calm, clarity, and kindness to all of his communications with me: hearing my concerns and checking with me about each cut before it was made ensured that I could relax and trust his judgment and skill. I'm over-the-top pleased with the end results of their work and I am deeply grateful for the care they gave to each step along the way--including the cleanup of many limbs, branches, and twigs. The next time we need work on our trees, I will call Potomac River Arborists in a heartbeat.
