I couldn’t be happier with the work Bob has done throughout my home. I’ve used him on two occasions and not only has he done excellent work at a reasonable price, but he Also came out and did the work on short notice. I’ll be sure to hire him again for any future electrical needs.

Helms came out today to replace two porch lights I thought weren't working. Turns out it was the switch, but I had them change out the lights, anyway. They were right on time, in and out within an hour, extremely courteous and very reasonable charge. Would recommend and will use again next time I need any electrical work done.

Bob is the kind of contractor that everybody wants and would like to work with. He is very knowledgeable about his trade, totally honest and extremely responsible. I have been using him for over 10 years. Each time he does a job for me he explains what the code requirements are, what he will do and how he will do it. He never takes shortcuts or seems to be in a hurry. His estimates are dead-on accurate, although one time he did a job for me based on a satisfactory estimate. When it came time to pay the bill, it was for less than the estimate. When I questioned him about it, he said that the job did not take as long as he thought and he passed the savings on to me. When he has an employee working with him, he makes sure that individual also works to the same high standards that he does, including a careful cleaning of the job site. You will not find a better electrician anywhere!

Called Helms Electric to run a new electrical line for an AC unit and they were willing to come out same day. The electrician was in the neighborhood already and arrived 15 minutes later, which was great! The new outlet was split from an existing one (aka a circuit extension) and only a small hole was created in the drywall.

The work area was left just as clean as when he arrived and the finished product looked very professional. The electrician (and his apprentice?) was also very pleasant and neat; he explained what work was being done and why it was being done, which is always appreciated.

Pricing felt competitive, but on the high-side (keeping in mind I'm tight-fisted); he was willing to honor an Angie's List coupon, which was nice. And sometimes paying just a little more for fast, professional and convenient service is worth every penny.

I will gladly call for further work in the future and would recommend to my friends.

I AM IMPRESSED! I highly recommend using this company. They scheduled the next day, arrived on time and wore a mask at my request. Bob listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. He and his helper Blake (who is very charming) work in sync and were quick! They cleaned up afterwards as well. The pricing was very fair.

Bob and his team did a great job installing our new lights including a foyer light that was two stories up and a light on a landing that wasn't even. They were extremely responsive, did great work, very timely, and a great value

We were impressed by both the quality of work and how clean they left the improved rooms. One of the rooms ( installed a ceiling fan & pre-wire) had the attic access panel with a tremendous amount of insulation in the attic. When they finished, the rooms showed no signs of having work performed, other than the two perfectly installed ceiling fans!! We'll be Recommending and Using Rob for all of our future improvements!

I had the need to hire an electrician. I contacted Helms Electric. Told them what my electrical issues were, and they were out the next day giving me suggestions on what it would take to repair and update my kitchen lights, the fuse blowing problem that I had, plus other problems. Bob called me with an estimate, which was very reasonable, and said he could also do it in a timely fashion. Helms Electric came out, and repaired everything I needed. Bob the owner took as much time explaining the process as they want along, and even made a couple of on the fly changes that were no problem to them. I could not be happier with the job that Helms Electric did, and I would recommend them to anyone!!

I was so impressed by the workmanship the first time I had Bob come out again and install more recessed lighting in my home. Very honest, knowledgeable, and what a great price! I highly recommend Helms Electric.

Bob came out on a Saturday morning which was great because of my late work schedule. He quickly fixed a problem we had with a light switch and electrical outlet that were not working. Another electrician had been out for over an hour who could not figure out the issue. Would definitely use again! Excellent service!

We would highly recommend Mr. Helms. He is extremely reliable, honest, and trustworthy; he has done great work around our home in the kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms. Mr. Helms has also done work at my parents home. We always know we can rely on him for exceptional service! Can't say enough good things.

We've had Bob handle several of our electrical problems in recent years and he's always been highly professional, knowledgeable, thorough….and on time! We just had a few very minor outlets and switch issues that he and his assistant took care of quickly…as his web site says, no job too small. We'd highly recommend Bob and his team for any of your electrical needs.

Robert came out again for a new project. PERFECT AGAIN. I agree with another reviewer- don’t go anywhere else! I LOVE MY SEWING ROOM LIGHTING!!! Robert Helms does great work and is a gosh-darn nice guy! The young man working with Mr. Helms, Bailey, was extremely polite and professional. Highly recommend !!

We recently moved to Harford County and wanted to upgrade the electrics in our new home using a local electrician. After two unsuccessful/unpleasant attempts, we found Helms Electric. Found Bob to be extremely knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. Working with him was more like working with a friend than a contractor. I would whole-heartedly recommend Helms Electric for any degree of electrical work one would need.

My experience overall was excellent. It was super easy to schedule service and I found the pricing to be very reasonable. Our electrician showed up on time and was very thorough during the visit. We're happy with the work he performed and would definitely use them again.

Very happy to have worked with Helms Electric! The owner (Bob) not only gave the quote but also performed the work. I had under cabinet lighting installed and he explained the process in detail so that I wouldn't be surprised. I appreciate that he was so thorough, which also showed in the quality of his work. We hired Helms Electric to install recessed lighting in our home in multiple rooms to replace our light switch controlled outlets. I couldn't be happier with how it went. They bid considerably less than competitors and they performed the job in less time as well. The house was clean when they finished and the job was finished exactly as described. We have had the lighting for weeks now and everything is great. I will surely be hiring them again whenever i have any other electrical needs.

Since I've had such good experience with Bob I've been calling Bob for all my electrical needs over the past few years and Bob has always delivered. He recently installed a brand new high power EV charger by installing a new 60amp line, fixed the builder's terrible 240V outlet that shorted, added an additional 240V line for an additional water heater unit, and added multiple outlets in the house where needed. All were done quickly, professionally, and cleanly.

I needed an L2 EVSE installed and Bob came through with flying colors. Efficient, quick, courteous and professional, I would recommend Helms Electric to anyone needing a solid and reliable electrician.

In the past year I've also asked Bob to install a 240V water heater timer, which was installed professionally and works very well. I will continue to call Bob for any and all home electrical work.

Oh and his fees are fair as well!

Bob is very professional he installed several lights in our kitchen, living room, hallway and porch. He was on time and his prices were very reasonable. Would recommend him for any type of electrical work.

My experience with Helms Electric was excellent. I tried to do the work of hanging a ceiling light myself but could not. I actually messed things up, but the electrician and his helper came, straightened out what I did wrong and hung the light. All this was done in a very timely manner, and done at a very reasonable cost. This business was recommended by Home Depot, and I am very glad I contacted them. They were prompt and very friendly and professional. I would highly recommend their services.
