My boyfriend and I just got a Christmas tree from Wintergreen & the employees made the experience very enjoyable. We were welcomed with hot apple cider, popcorn, cookies && coffee. Their trees were very lovely, and customer service was top of the line. This was the first time buying a live Christmas tree && I know where we will be going back next year!

Last year we found this nursery when searching for a specific tree... didn't find my tree but got superb customer service, a great deal on two other trees, and some really good advice for our other plantings. My husband went back there today to look at the plants and price out mulch and the service was even better than before. He ended up saving $30+ over the Home Depot prices for our mulch and the staff was just as friendly as last time. The best part was that even though we'd only been there ONCE, the staff remembered my husband and gave him our military/veteran discount even though I wasn't present! AMAZING SERVICE! This is officially our go to nursery from now own!

I went to the nursery at 5:45 pm on 5/14/21, not realizing that they close at 6pm. I walked around for a minute or two, unsure of where to go or even what I was really looking for other than soil. I was approached and helped by three women who each were so friendly and pointed me in the right direction. The last woman, and I wish I had asked for her name, gave me so much advice about my container gardening plan and I appreciate her so much! She was so patient, offered so many different recommendations, and tips and advice. I tried container gardening last year for the first time, and though I’ve been doing my research, she hipped me to some things that I did not know. I left there spending more than I probably wanted to on soil LOL, but I am confident that my harvest this year will be a great one and not just because of the soil. I wanted to support a local nursery this year and not just a big box store and I’m glad I popped in today. I’ll be back tomorrow because once I found out they were closing in 2 minutes, I made a beeline out of their beautiful greenhouse.

This customer was more than satisfied after leaving. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I went there with my peace lily plant that needed a little extra TLC. Kenny came to its rescue by repotting and trimming it for me. Thank you Kenny for your wonderful assistance and bringing new life to my plant. I also have a philodendron that could use a bit of Kenny's green thumb so I guess I will be taking another trip to Wintergreen Landscape Nursery very soon!

I'm a Waldorf MD resident and my wife and I recently spent $2500 for mulching and planting. After the work was completed, the landscaping manager never gave us the courtesy of coming back to our home to check in with us. We also never heard from anyone in management from the nursery. Wintergreen was quick to send us an invoice but customer service was lacking.

Two weeks after the work was completed we already have seven dead plants (Hostas). Since we can't seem to get the manager to respond to my texts and the pictures we sent, we will be visiting the nursery this week to express our displeasure with this experience and hope that Wintergreen will honor their promise to replace these plants.

customer service top notch. I picked up to loads of pea gravel and the person loading the gravel was very careful to make sure it ended up in the bed of of truck and not hitting sides or tailgate. I am very appreciative as my truck is a short bed Ram and there is little room for error and lots of room for damage to the paint. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had some crushed stone delivered for our patio project. I may have not done the best job laying out the tarp for the delivery. The delivery driver took time to rearrange the tarp and was able to place all the material on top of it. Thats great customer service!

Good people to do business with! Had a yard project recently and purchased two scoops of “top soil” that I thought that would be enough, I was wrong and I had to finish by nightfall. It near the end of the day and Wintergreen was about to close. I called and explained my situation to one of their managers named Scott.
He said I’ll get you two more scoops before we close, and he did!!! I was impressed, no hassle Scott made it happen. Great customer service. Given the times we are in...it’s nice to know good customer service faded away everywhere.

Last week my Jeep overheated and I barely made it into their parking lot. Wish I knew the gentleman's name who came out and offered assistance! Not only did he fill up my car with water but he gave me a 5 gallon bottle of Deer Park water to make sure I got home to Calvert County. I have never purchased from this company before.... but if they can treat a non paying person this way... I can't imagine how they treat their customers!

Absolutely love this place! They have a wide variety of plants you can select from. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also do military discounts and and they're closed on Sundays 😁

Not much I can say that hasn't already been shared. From the cashiers to the yard staff and the guy that helped us load, everyone seemed to love their job and couldn't have been happier to interact with customers. We asked one question about evergreens and next thing you know we're being given a personalized tour of the facility with pricing, plant characteristics and suggestions intermixed with friendly conversation. We've been looking for a boulder for sometime to accent over yard. The employees were almost as excited as we were when talking about the selection. The guy that helped us load is about as skilled with a tractor as surgeon is with a scalpel.

Cannot get over how much service and care was put into every aspect of the business. The facility and plants reflect in in such. Would be doing a disservice of I didn't mention pricing. We looked at the same plants elsewhere and the price is no comparison. Skip the box stores; you'll save ti

Horrible customer service, I had to call at least eight times. I visited the nursery on several occasions. They sold me landscaping that will not thrive. They did not show up for their appointments on time. The manager is very condescending and they would not accept the expert opinion of some of the other top landscapers in our area . I spent over $5000 with this company and I would not recommend them

recently got 14 three gallon Holly's. They are so healthy and gorgeous. I have bought many many garden pots and even a beautiful whale sculpture. Love it all.

I came back here to update my review that I once did on Wintergreen. The first encounter was a bit rough but the company, Dominique specifically, heard my complaint and did EVERYTHING possible to address my concerns. I'm now completely satisfied with their service and the quality of work. Dominique is very knowledgeable and was very communicative with me and made sure I got the best quality of work and product to make my flower bed beautiful. I'm very happy I choose to go with Wintergreen.

Nice nursery. I’ve spent a lot of money here the past two years on mulch, topsoil and compost. Stay away from their compost and topsoil. It’s full of trash as in plastic, metal and glass. I don’t know where they get it trucked in from but they charge way too much to be handing out trash. Like $50/scoop for compost and $45 for topsoil. Something like that. I will be taking my business somewhere else from now on.

I’ve given this nursery multiple chances over the years, but my experiences have been consistently frustrating. I refuse to purchase here, and warn anyone else to avoid them as well.

First and foremost, do not trust their “scoop” system for selling bulk materials. Their website contradicts itself, listing the volume of a "scoop" as anywhere from 1/3 cubic yard to over 3/4 cubic yard. I suppose they don't assume homeowners will actually do the math. Today, I called to clarify how the material was sold and was repeatedly assured that it was sold by the cubic yard- $50 per yard, or “actually $49.99 per yard, I just round up the penny,” as I was told. Given my past negative experiences, I was hesitant but decided to give them another try.

When I arrived, I was immediately informed that, no, materials are not sold by the cubic yard, but rather by the "scoop," with a poor explanation involving homeowner pickup truck sizes as to why. Weird when every other nursery operates on a per yard basis with no problems. The real reason for this system is clear- it allows them to mislead customers and avoid adhering to the industry standard measurement that every other nursery follows. I would be very interested to hear what the state of Maryland's Weights and Measures division would think about this practice of somehow varying scoop sizes. Unfortunately, I had already committed to purchasing and didn’t have time to leave and go to the vastly superior Ed’s Plant World, which in hindsight would have been well worth the drive.

This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues here. I once purchased CR6 in a pinch when other nurseries were closed, only to receive material that was more like 57 bluestone with almost no fines- completely unsuitable for compaction. I also (some years back) previously inquired about compost sourcing, and whoever I spoke to acted like it was some kind of secret, refusing to provide any real details. That kind of evasiveness doesn’t inspire any confidence.

Beyond the questionable sales practices, the prices here are significantly higher than both Ed’s Plant World and Abby Farms. By significantly, I mean *significantly*. Between the inflated costs and the inconsistent material volumes, I honestly don’t see how any contractor would work with them in good faith. There’s a reason you will see legitimate landscaping businesses are sourcing their materials elsewhere.

As a landscape contractor, I’ve also repeatedly encountered unhappy homeowners who hired them, only to receive hardscape and landscape projects I would consider amateur at best. A bit of hearsay, but with my own experience I entirely believe it. The lack of professionalism I’ve seen in both their products and the work done by them speaks volumes.

Save yourself the hassle and take your business somewhere that operates with transparency and fairness. I would highly recommend Eds Plant World. I have never had an issue with them as a landscaper or as a homeowner, and everything is clearly on the up and up.

The customer service I received was of the highest quality! I felt like my experience was customized to my needs and found all the plants I was looking for.
