Purchased 15 yards of loam and then had it hydroseeed by them after I had it spread. Came in completely covered in weeds, barely any grass. I called over a week ago and left message with girl at desk who said owners would call next day....multiple days later no call.....called again and they sent me to the person in charge of the hydroseed etc.....left message, days later and still no call. Can tell how much they stand behind there product!

I called in advance with questions about office plants. So friendly and knowledgable. I enjoyed meeting Jay who walked me through, in layman's terms, what would be best for my needs. Great experience!

    Highly recommend!
Great place to buy plants and trees. Repeat customer. Been shopping here for 10 years.
The best place for your gardening needs!

I have never experienced worse customer service. Ordered and paid for a tree to be installed almost a month ago. At the time of purchase we were promised a call the following week. We have called multiple times and get told that the 'person looking after installs is not in today'. They make a note of the call and tell me they will be in touch. Each time I call I am told that if I don't need to be there, then the install could happen sooner. But that still results in zero communication from them.

I have just spoken to a lady called Robin, who upon telling that I am dissatisfied and want a refund, she responded with 'that's fine'. To me that speaks volumes. I have called 3 times before and each time was left feeling that they really don't care.

I love New England Nurseries. The management and the work crew from top to bottom are really honest, hard working, helpful and knowledgeable people....

I have a beautiful new lawn thanks to New England Nurseries! Professional, knowledgeable, and kind staff who helped every step of the way! I highly recommend their work and services, not to mention the huge selection of plants and flowers!

I have found some very interesting plants at New England Nurseries that weren't being sold at other stores, so it is quite worthwhile to browse there frequently. Also, there is a woman that works there named Elaine who is a TREASURE. I'm not kidding! She knows EVERYTHING and is super helpful and has a great attitude. (She doesn't work every day so find out when she's there.)

My fiancé and I stopped here to pick up a pair of apple trees. They had a great selection of different apples that were already flowering. Ernie helped us out while we were there and went above and beyond. We knew nothing walking into this and Ernie really laid it all out for us. We will definitely be back in the future.

It is a real pleasure to shop at this particular nursery.it is widely spread out, well organized, and particularly safe for social distancing. The people who work here are extremely nice and helpful.I've gotten everything from plants to bluestone slabs, stone dust and mulch.

Always a big selection. Staff is always friendly. Prices are a little high, but worth supporting a local company. Plants are generally pretty healthy. Large selection of garden related stuff inside.

I called my ahead to check that they had explicitly what I wanted. Yeah, New England Nursery had exactly that they said! A lovely knowledgeable young person packed up all of the bags on a wagon, brought everything around to the front and then with joyful care loaded them into my car. What a sweet experience for what is usually a mundane errand!

    Overall quite good, but…
New staff should be trained not to say "no, we don't", but instead politely say: "I'm not sure; do you mind if I find out?" I came in today looking for a common item that a dedicated garden center should carry, and instead of accepting "no we don't", I looked around and found what I needed in under 3 minutes.

New England Nurseries provided loam and hydroseed as part of our new irrigation system that was being installed. They did a great job of coordinating with our irrigation contractor as some of the work needed to be done before that contractor and the remaining work following. They completed the work quickly and their team did a great job of carrying out the project and cleaning up afterwards. I would highly recommend them. We have also used them to install a tree in our yard. Several years later that tree is our favorite to look at.

One of my favorite nurseries in the area. I have purchased several plants over the years and have had them install 4 trees. Purchased a beautiful bird bath today.
They have a wide variety of plants, trees and shrubs as well as bulk mulch and landscaping supplies.

Good selection of perennials and shrubs, and great selection of hardscape materials. Decent prices on compost compared to other local nurseries. I come here usually once a month or so and always leave with more than I intended!

I feel terrible leaving this review, since I want so badly to support our local businesses here in Bedford. However, my experience with New England Nurseries has been shockingly bad. I have been a customer for 4.5 years, opting to pay the higher prices in order to support a local business. The frontline workers are often a bit rude, which I dismissed and chalked up to them hiring mostly younger staff to answer phones and work the registers. The specialists that they employ always seemed great. So, the high prices and rude interactions with staff were fine, as long as I was ultimately receiving a good product and good expertise.

However, I recently purchased $350 worth of mulch to be delivered to my house. It was dropped off in my driveway at at 10am, and I went out to spread it at 10:30. When I got to the mulch, it was ABSOLUTELY LITTERED with ants. The mulch looked like it was ready to mutate and destroy the village. When I called about this issue, the young lady that answered the phone tried to tell me it was not their problem. I politely asked to speak with those in charge of the mulch. After being placed on hold several times while she spoke with the person in charge, I was told that I cannot speak with anybody about the issue because the mulch must have gotten the ants while it was in my driveway. I am hoping anybody still reading finds this as absurd as I do. I suppose it is possible that 2 million ants in the neighborhood had held a town meeting to organize a planned attack on my mulch at exactly 10am, but I am going to guess that it is more likely the mulch was contaminated at their facility (or their supplier's). She told me that it could not have happened at their facility, because the mulch "came straight off the truck." I find this a bit silly because (a) I drive by their mulch pile on a daily basis, which is 30 feet from the highway, and (b) this says nothing about their supplier.

I did not ask for a refund. I did not ask for any sort of remediation. I simply asked to speak with somebody other than the 17 year old who answers their phones. They refused to speak with me, instead relaying the message that I should purchase a product from them to spray my infested mulch with. That was a nice touch.

Ultimately, with my son's birthday party the following day and my driveway shimmering with muchly ants, I made the rushed decision to spread my new friends all over my property. I am now spraying my mulch regularly... with a product I purchased from somebody else.

New England Nurseries... I tried really hard to be a loyal customer. Good luck.

I wish I could give a half star or no star.
I waited until the last moment, but decided before I go to bed I should speak on it. That fellow Ben, he was horrible answering the phone. He was so disinterested, and it even seemed like he was talking with someone else instead. I don't think I'll ever call again!

Just had our lawn hydroseeded 15 days ago from NEN and it is coming in thick and very very green. Could not be more pleased.

I purchased a number of 5-6 foot green giant arborvitae’s over a year ago that the nursery selected and planted. The trees were very thin with minimal out branching. Over a year later the trees hardly produced any growth. This was an expensive purchase compared to Lowe’s trees that are healthy full trees at half the price and same warranty. I’m very disappointed with New England Nursery and will no longer do business with them.

Since discovering this nursery I have only had great experiences! The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable about all their plants and care for each and every one. The inside store is cottage aesthetic heaven covered with plenty of gardening books and adorable house decor. They have a large selection of different pots, soils, and accent pieces for custom terrariums and different potted arrangements. I have fallen in love with this nursery and look forward to each and every visit to feed my plant obsessions!

These guys are so friendly and helpful. I also bought firewood from them one time and it was beautifully seasoned.
