Constraction reviews in Lexington, Massachusetts

Stay Away from the driver that plows dunkin donut near arlington police. Not a nice guy!

Thomas did an amazing job with some very detailed trim work. I would highly recommend

I highly recommend CD Donahue & Son. They did a great job reframing our doors. They were professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I look forward to working with them again.

Great company! Super professional, clean work site at all times, truly great team!

My older home was in need of some TLC and upon a recommendation from my mailman I contacted Thomas. So glad I did! He was prompt with his communication and honest with me about what needed to get done and what I could wait on. Their work was excellent, site was always clean and communication was consistent through the whole process. Highly recommend.

Needed a complete bathroom renovation. I'm a single homeowner so I get nervous when I need to hire contractors. They responded promptly, super easy to communicate with, very understanding and walked me through every step of the way. The work is clean and beautiful and even done ahead of projected schedule. Cannot recommend them enough.

We've worked with CD Donahue for 15 years. They have done work in my home as well as my dental office. I feel comfortable having them do big projects or smaller ones, commercial or residential. I know they will do both with the same level of care and detail. I find them extremely professional and easy to work with. The work they do is high quality, they show up on time and they clean up. They are very careful to protect the surrounding areas when they do work. They also have wonderful subcontractors that are equally courteous and professional. I am a stickler, about having things done right, and they always surpass my expectations. I highly recommend them!

CD Donahue is an excellent general contracting firm. They do top notch work at a fair price. And they show up and complete their work on time as they predicted. I can wholeheartedly recommend them to any homeowner that wants to do a renovation.

When water started leaking from our 2nd floor bathroom into the kitchen, we were in a panic. A few calls to our friends seeking help, all pointed to CD Donahue and Son contractors. CD Donahue and Son Contractors’ response was immediate. Thomas Donahue and his crew came out to our home, assessed the damage, then developed several options for us to choose from. What impressed us the most, was their professionalism, their energy and their commitment to meeting our needs. More importantly, they listened. Once the plan was in place, Thomas Donahue and crew were efficient, respective and executed the plan flawlessly. When done, we had a beautiful bath. There was not a trace of any work being done. Truly impressive. Without any reservation or hesitation, we highly recommend reaching out to CD Donahue and Son Contract to service your building or restoration needs.

When deciding whether or not to buy my childhood home, I knew it would come down to finding a dependable and skilled general contractor to assist me with the project. CD Donahue helped us with a home renovation 25 years earlier, so I knew they were who we needed to call.
Chuck, his son, Thomas, and their entire team are incredible. They are skilled craftsmen, responsive, honest, kept the site immaculate, and made the project fun - even the many painstaking decisions around my desire to renovate and refresh some parts of the house while preserving and restoring others. They went above and beyond to assist us in all aspects of the job and their subs are also terrific. I can't say enough how thrilled we are with the finished project. We wholeheartedly endorse CD Donahue and encourage you to contact them for your next home renovation project!

What started with a one room refresh quickly expanded to renovating 70% of our home and there is absolutely no one else I would have trusted other than Thomas, Wellington and team. Working with C.D. Donahue has been nothing short of a smooth process with zero hiccups and making all my wildest dreams a reality all within the timeline we initially discussed. Tom's team is professional, extremely detail oriented and without a doubt masters in their trade. Every one (including other sub contractors) who have come by to see the work always notice the extra details and how all the work was done without taking any shortcuts. We plan to continue to work with their team once we're ready to complete the remaining 30% but until then we are so pleased with our home so far and know that the investment is well worth it! If you want a contractor who is honest, willing to listen and executes what is promised - C.D. Donahue is the team for you! Thank you for all your hard work!!

We hired C D Donahue General Contractors for interior finish work. We highly recommend this company based on the great experience we had with them. First of all, the final job was done completely, on time and to a high standard of quality. They were quick in responding to our request for an estimate that was priced very reasonably. The work was finished on time with no surprises. The staff was skilled, professional and very respectful.

We recently worked with Tom and his team to finish our basement. We had a vision for our project and Tom worked closely with us to deliver exactly what we wanted. His team was always on time, professional and neat. If you’re looking for a contractor who listens, is creative, reliable, meticulous with his craftsmanship and a pleasure to work with do not hesitate to contact CD Donahue.

Thomas and his team were a dream to work with. When Thomas came in to take a look at what we were hoping to do (take down a wall) he had the vision to help us see even more potential "What if you raised the ceiling 2 feet?" After going over costs, we chose to follow his lead and raise the ceiling as well. What a true difference it made and a vision that we didn't even think was possible. His guys were incredibly fast, efficient, transparent, and most importantly kind. His team from the demo, plastering, electrical, plumbing, are all skilled and professional. If there was ever a hiccup, he was quick to loop us in and resolve it. The night before our major demo, our sink broke, he helped set us up with getting that fixed. Our budget also didn't allow for our floors to get done, which left a gap between the once separated rooms. He created a beveled piece to bridge the gap which has been a perfect solution until we are ready for the floors to get refinished. If you are looking for a reliable and communicative contractor, look no further. 10/10! Thank you, Thomas!

We had a great experience working with CD Donahue for a built-in desk for our daughter's room. From the start, Chuck identified a cost-effective approach that enabled us to leverage pre-fabricated (vs. custom-built) cabinetry for part of the project, and he provided clear alternatives throughout as we planned the project. Wellington and Jose were the primary team, with Thomas also consulting, and they completed the project on time / promptly, and were very careful and respectful of the space throughout. The final product is excellent, and came in within budget, and we would readily engage the team again for future contracting needs.

I have been using C D Donahue for all of my carpentry and home projects. We couldn't be more impressed with the quality and professionalism of their work. From start to finish, Tom and Chuck, demonstrated exceptional knowledge, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Tom has gone above and beyond to meet our needs on a timely fashion (often even same day service). I value and trust their opinion and will continue to use them without hesitation in the future. I would highly recommend C D Donahue for any contracting needs.

We hired Gold Beech Construction to install heated floors and update two bathrooms with new tile floors and new bathroom cabinetry. Initially, we were just thinking how great it would be to have warm floors in the winter, but after the job started their team quickly diagnosed the cause of several issues that had been plaguing our house and the job turned into both a bathroom remodeling and a construction remediation repair job.

At the job’s completion, we could not be more happy we decided to do this critical (initially indulgent) project and so happy to have picked Gold Beech Construction to do the work!

Besides doing a spotless job, with an eye for perfection, always on time, and willing to work with our scheduling, the Gold Beech team diagnosed two critical problems with our bathrooms; they explained to us what we needed, how they would fix it, and quickly purchased and installed all the materials, with the highest level of professionalism and knowledgeable advice. The team traced an old water damage issue, cleaned all affected wood and replaced the subfloor before starting the remodeling job. With all of this extra work, they kept us informed and showed us everything they were discovering, adjusted the timelines of the job professionally and kept all extra work reasonably priced.

We should also add, that this work was done during the pandemic and was truly invasive, having work being done on our first and third floors. During the job, Gold Beech Construction put in a huge effort to seal off the work areas, minimize any travel through our home and was conscientious about using air filtration and masks. In the end, the bathrooms came out wonderfully. The team coordinated work with our cabinet supplier, brought in an expert tile installer, electrician and plumber and we never had a problem throughout this renovation that ended up being far more complicated and essential for the health of our home than we had anticipated.

We are so grateful Gold Beech Construction created two beautifully renovated bathrooms and completely eliminated multiple destructive problems! We highly recommend the Gold Beech team for any construction project!

As an final comment, we are very impressed and extremely grateful about the way the company designed its workflow through our house during the COVID shutdown. It’s yet another example of their thoughtfulness and consideration of their clients, and sub-contractors.

An amazing construction company run by a smart, creative, conscientious and caring owner! Chris and his team truly are amazing - the quality of their work is outstanding. Normally I am wary of hiring independent construction groups as many do shoddy or half-assed work. Gold Beech is the opposite - it's like working with an artist who also understands timelines. I can't recommend them highly enough!

We had a serious leak at the juncture of an outside brick wall and a flat rubber roof that two other contractors - and thousands of dollars - didn't fix. Gold Beech Construction was the first company to explain why we had the leak and more importantly, how they were going to fix it. Gold Beech Construction took great care in our house by covering floors and putting up plastic barriers around all the work areas and always wore masks in the house. They were great at communicating the timing of the project. We will never use another contractor. We have now used Gold Beech for a couple of other projects and they continue to exceed expectations. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.

We had a great experience working with Gold Beech Construction on our upstairs remodel. We had a tight schedule with a baby on the way and really appreciated them working with us to get our project started quickly and keep things moving as quickly as possible during Covid. Their team was great with communication, very organized and always available by text, email or phone for questions and updates. When there were minor issues during the project, they always let us know immediately and quickly came to a resolution - no surprises for us at the end of the project and they really went above and beyond to make sure everything was completely taken care of. Although our budget ran over (as they do!), they were always upfront about extra costs / work and really worked with us to manage the budget and scope. We're happy with the finished space and the quality of the work and would happily work with Gold Beech Construction again!

We hired Chris and his Gold Beech team to renovate the lower level of our home to create an elegant, single-story residence for my mother, in which she could age in place. What Gold Beech did was beyond what we imagined was possible.

We found great value in the pre-construction/design process and are confident that the renovation was far better because of it. Gold Beech learned in detail what was important to us aesthetically and took aging in place needs into consideration at every level of design. The designer reimagined several spaces, resulting in greater ease of use and a better flow to the whole level, which was a wonderful surprise, exceeding even the high expectations we had.

Chris and his team delivered expert skill and an obsession with detail to every aspect of the construction. They gave the same deep attention to hidden aspects of the construction work we might never see as they did to the more visible ones. Each person on the team was experienced, very hard working, and focused on doing the best work that could be done. They were also some of the nicest people and always a pleasure to interact with. The workspace was safe and well organized and cleaned every day, demonstrating respect for the team and our home.

The professionalism of the Gold Beech core team was exceptional. Everyone understood exactly what was happening when, and why, and could communicate it to us. As questions came up, Chris and his team were extremely responsive, and issues were addressed promptly and fully. Financial matters were also transparent with detailed invoices and regular communication with Chris. There were no surprise costs. We felt well informed and comfortable with what was happening throughout. Gold Beech earned our trust and confidence every day.
