Constraction reviews in Medfield, Massachusetts

Our experience with Mitchell Construction was exceptional from our initial planning sessions through to the end of a complete kitchen remodel and moving our laundry upstairs. All the subs were great and their work schedule was always on the date we were given - they actually finished a few days early. Follow-up support continued during and after COVID.

Working with Victoria, Tommy, Jim and Josh was always a pleasure. We enthusiastically recommend Mitchell to friends and neighbors alike.

We have hired Mitchell Construction for a variety of residential projects-- some big, some small-- over the past several years. We have always found the Mitchell team to be caring and knowledgeable professionals. They respond in a timely manner, show up on time, are thorough in assessing, estimating, coordinating and performing the job. This really helped to keep our projects running smoothly and on budget. I have been amazed with their level of customer service. We highly recommend Mitchell Construction for any project you may have-- from a large home renovation to a powder room update. They will give you their utmost attention and get the job done right.

We used Mitchell Construction for a partial bathroom remodel and the team was great to work with from start to finish. They communicated with us daily and made sure we were involved every step of the way. Ongoing construction while you’re living in your home can be difficult but Mitchell made the process smooth and easy for us.

We hired Mitchell Construction to build out an office in a spare bedroom. The team was great to work with - the job was done ahead of schedule and on budget. I'd highly recommend using Mitchell for any renovation or new build.

We used Mitchell for a 2 story addition in 2022, and we just used them again for a kitchen remodel. Another reviewer mentioned Mitchell’s higher price tag. It is true - they do not come cheap. But, you get what you pay for. They are a one-stop shop - design and build from soup to nuts. They have a pool of trusted subcontractors for the trades (plumbing, electrical, painting, etc.), and they handle permitting and work with a structural engineer if needed. Because they handle it all, they are able to make an aggressive schedule and stick to it. Waiting for permits and inspections was the only thing that slowed our projects down here and there, but they would make up for the lost time in other places. Both of our projects came in on time (actually a little early). Both of our projects were also on budget. They give you an accurate estimate after fully researching the project, and they don’t “nickel and dime” you on every little piece of work that pops up. Their customer service is excellent. Our project manager, head carpenter, and designers were all very professional, experienced, and great with communication. Victoria was amazing to work with on our kitchen design. Her expertise made the process fun and easy and resulted in a truly beautiful kitchen. Once the job is finished, they are still very responsive. They stand behind their work and will follow up on any concerns that may develop. We didn’t like the toe kick heater installed in our new bathroom, and they came and installed a baseboard unit instead. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Mitchell again.

We utilized Mitchell Construction Group for exterior trim repair that included installation of new trim and repair. They did a great job and the work was completed as expected, on time, and on budget. Additionally, they were excellent to work with, professional, very responsive, and willing to educate us along the way.

Simply put, the best general contractors I've ever worked with. They did 2 big jobs at my old house and just completed a 6 week project at my current home. The work is outstanding, the prices are very fair, and Dan (led the project) and Joe (oversaw the work and business end of things) were amazing. Constant communication, flexible with my work schedule (I work from home), and all of the guys working were there exactly when they said they'd be there. I won't use anyone else.

I hired Mitchell Construction to transform a deck to a three season porch. The experience from start to finish was seamless. The original plan was to have a screened in porch, but because the room was so beautiful, I decided to have glass inserts made for the colder months. Communication with my team was easy, and the overall process was stress-free. My new room, my she-shed, is built beautifully. Thank you!

We worked with Mitchell to renovate our attic including the addition of a bathroom. Their process oriented approach to design-build ensured that the end product was on time, on budget and exceeded our expectations. The team was fantastic to work with - we will be using them again for our next project.

We originally hired the Mitchell Group to repair some rotted exterior window frames and sills as well as some interior closet shelving. We were so pleased with the work that our second project with them was much larger - replacing several windows whose interior frames needed to match the existing windows. It was a challenging task, but the team did a fantastic job! In fact we are about to start a third project with Mitchell! The entire team’s attention to detail was outstanding!
The work areas were clean and tidy at the end of each workday; the proposed timeline was accurate as was the estimated cost. Finally, all the team members were hard-working and pleasant to have around…

We had another fantastic experience working with Mitchell Construction. We used Mitchell for a major renovation and addition in 2012 including adding a new primary suite, updating 2 bathrooms and family room; again in 2019 for a major kitchen and dining room renovation and most recently in 2025 for a home office refresh and update. In all three occasions, from the initial consultation to project completion, their team demonstrated exceptional communication, professionalism, creativity and attention to detail. They worked seamlessly to integrate the design and construction phases which ensured a smooth and efficient process. All projects were completed on time and within budget. The final results have always exceeded our expectations. The team and their subcontractors were responsive to any concerns or changes. Communication was stellar throughout. The worksites were left impeccably clean at the end of each day. Everyone we have interacted with has been friendly and a pleasure to have in our home. I can highly recommend Mitchell and will use them in a heartbeat for future projects.

Over a decade ago Mitchell did a major renovation of my kitchen and two bathrooms. Victoria designed the project with impeccable taste, selecting choices that perfectly matched my vision. Even after all these years, the design remains timeless and far from dated. Marc was in charge of overseeing the construction crew, ensuring every detail was executed with top-notch quality. Years later when some of the kitchen cabinet drawers started sticking a bit, Marc came over to tighten the runners and took the time to check and tighten all the other drawers and cabinets as well. It's this level of service that truly sets them apart.

I'm thrilled that Mitchell has expanded to include Mitchell Exteriors and Maintenance (E&M), which is perfect for my smaller projects. My first experience with E&M was hand crafting a new fireplace mantle to match another one in my house. Joe and Dan managed the project seamlessly from start to finish, and the workmanship of the new mantle exceeded my expectations.

Just recently, I hired E&M again to rip up wall-to-wall carpet and refinish the existing hardwood floors. As always, Joe and Dan managed the project superbly, bringing in high-quality subcontractors and offering alternatives at different price points. Dan even came personally to do the final cleanup and fix minor details, ensuring everything was perfect.

I will continue to use and wholeheartedly recommend Mitchell, especially their E&M division, for any future projects, big or small. Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction is truly unmatched.

We had a wonderful experiencing working with Mitchell Construction. Our project included an exterior renovation and a small addition. The Mitchell team was amazing from start to finish. The design process helped to crystallize the vision and produced a beautiful design, and the construction team and project management was on top of every detail. Our project stayed on budget and on time, and the team was incredibly responsive, transparent, and communicative. We would use them again in a heartbeat and recommend them highly!

We just completed a major exterior renovation of our Victorian including a fully restored porch, new siding and roofing, masonry repair and more. We could not be happier with the result. Joe was our business contact and worked with us patiently to size and estimate the project and help us prioritize to fit our budget. Our project manager Dan kept things on track throughout the execution, providing excellent communication, attention to detail and responsiveness to change requests as the work unfolded. The lead carpenter and various subcontractors have all been excellent as well, and our circa-1900 home is ready for the next 100+ years. I would not hesitate to recommend Mitchell Construction and we will certainly use them again!

Mitchell Construction did an outstanding job on our front-of-house and mudroom expansion! From start to finish, their team was professional, detail-oriented, and easy to work with. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and we were kept informed about our project including any adjustments to timelines and costs every step of the way - there were never any surprises. We couldn’t be happier with the results—our home looks amazing! Highly recommend Mitchell Construction for anyone looking for quality work and excellent service. We will certainly be working with Mitchell Construction again.

We had a phenomenal experience working with Mitchell Construction group! They helped us with an addition that involved remodeling our kitchen and half-bath and adding a primary bed/bath. It was really important to us to keep the old feel of our 100 yr old home while adding space, windows, and comfort. Gwen, our designer worked MAGIC to make all our dreams come true. Her ability to listen to exactly what we wanted and then turn it into something beautiful and functional was really amazing. She read our personality and style and worked so hard to make every detail perfect. The construction team was also incredible. Their attention to detail, and ability to customize every corner of the job to make it fit and look just right was so impressive. They were organized, efficient, and stayed on schedule! The icing on the cake was that they were so careful and considerate of my garden. They worked around all my plants and made as small a footprint as possible. My home is now perfect and will never need a renovation again... but if I ever change my mind, I'd call Mitchell right away!
