Last winter Total Contracting saved my life. I had a pipe burst in my apartment on a 3 degree winter day in January. As water quickly began pouring out into my apartment, I called the fire department and quickly found Total Contracting online in my searches. Having construction done in your home, while you're still living there, can be one of the most frustrating experiences. DKIM makes it a lot easier. They keep a clean work space, so everyday when they leave, you're not walking through piles of dust and debris. We've used DKIM to complete a number of projects in our condo and are always happy with the result AND the process.

Doug did an amazing job installing about 17 windows all throughout my house, great job on the finish carpentry and trim, awesome with cleanup. I have been doing more DIY stuff recently but if I need Doug's expertise again I will definitely reach out to him

Douglas Kim is a very skilled carpenter and designer of closets and shelving. He did a beautiful job constructing bookshelves along two walls in our grand Victorian house and he also pointed us to an excellent painter to paint the woodwork he completed for us. I would hire him again in a minute. He also designed and built a large closet with French doors in a room adjacent our kitchen. He was diligent, skilled and hardworking, and a pleasant presence in our house while he was working. He also remodeled the railings on our main stairway, matching the old, 19th century rails, only making them taller so that the stairs are safer. He did a great job with that. We plan to do a few other projects--such as redoing the stairs going down to our basement--and I hope to get Douglas to do that project for us next spring! Doug has done a lot of work for us, including resupporting/rebuilding our two-level front porch after another contractor tried to jack it up only to have it start sinking again. All of it has been exceptionally well done. Doug has, including coming up with solutions we would never have thought of, like building concrete platforms for two-units worth of basement laundry machines to make a level surface for them. I rely for his advice for all building-related issues.

Doug renovated our bathroom. He did a great job and was able to get the job done on a short timeline and with good quality work. He was very easy to work with and he picked good subcontractors for the project. He was very quick to address the couple small punch list items that came up as well.
