I had a negative experience with cooling unlimited. When I called them, they told me that they would come in the morning however they did not show up until afternoon. After they arrived, they suggested me to replace the furnace. However, the furnace is only 10 years old. I decided to have other company come and check. They fixed my problem and saved me money instead of replacing the furnace. I don’t recommend using cooling unlimited. Not helpful and I almost fooled by them

I’ve been a long-time customer of Cooling Unlimited, having purchased both a central air system and an upgraded heating system from them. In the past, their service was excellent, but unfortunately, the quality has declined in recent years.
Lately, when I submit service requests through their online system, I rarely receive a timely response, if any. Most recently, I submitted a request for annual maintenance on May 9th and didn’t hear back at all—until I finally called to follow up myself. When I spoke with the service team, I was told they “were busy,” which was the reason for the delay. They were also going to charge me a high fee for a service call when I explained the issue (clogged condensation line) and they seemed to be reading off a script vs. having an actual discussion.
I’ve made an effort to continue supporting them as my local HVAC company, but this ongoing lack of responsiveness has led me to take my system maintenance and service needs to another provider in the area. It’s disappointing to see this level of service from a company I once trusted and relied on. -
We did an oil to gas conversion through Mass Save Program in 2022 and Cooling Unlimited did the installation for us. They were easy to work with so we had them install a central AC unit in the same year when our old unit failed. In addition, we also signed up the 5-year maintenance plan for both heating and AC. Needless to say we thought they are solid. However, a recent event completely changed our view of them.
It started in March when our contractor telling us that the electric wiring of the furnace wasn’t installed properly. We saw the black paint on top of the furnace body was peeling off badly. We looked up and noticed the brownish residual around the flue pipe connection. We contacted Cooling Unlimited via email with pictures attached. We asked them what they think happened given it’s a 3-yr unit with annual inspection/maintenance. They didn’t respond. When we finally got hold of Meghan, she told us she was waiting for installation team to respond and would get back to us. Of course, that didn’t happen. After leaving more voicemails without response, we finally spoke to Mike THREE weeks later. He was effective to get a response from Mike P who proposed to replace the clip and paint for over 400 dollars. We asked Mike if he thinks it is normal for a 3-yr old unit with annual maintenance. He can’t even say it is. We sent an email to Mike P and cc’d Meghan, Mike G in the middle of April with 3 questions: 1) what he thinks the cause of the leak was , is it product defect or installation; 2) why maintenance didn’t detect it when they did annual tuneup at the beginning of heating season; 3) if we proceed with the repair, how long it would last. We never heard from any of them. After numerous phone calls and messages, we finally decided we are done with them. We called the office to cancel the remaining of our 5-yr plan, Kieran in the front office told me they don’t do refund. But why should we pay for service that failed to deliver? We sent emails to Mike G at the end of April and to Meghan a few days later to express our disappointment and frustration with the company and requested cancellation of our maintenance plan and they simply ignored our request. Meanwhile, we had another company coming to evaluate the flue pipe. After they removed the pipe, it was obvious that the installer didn’t seal it well that caused all the problem.
In the end, when we had a problem (even as a long-time customer with a maintenance plan), they showed no desire to help, simply brushed off our concerns and simply ignored our followups. It is very disappointing and we just do not have time to deal with them any more.
June 1, 2025 update:
After posting the review, Meghan reached out. They claimed some internal communication problem but no customers care about your internal problem. They offered a free repair but as mentioned in the initial review, we already had it fixed by another company. We told Meghan our only request is to terminate our multi-year maintenance plan. She refused. Her argument is that her people did the work. They did the work but they did SLOPPY work. If we had to check our boiler and identify the problem, why should we paying them do the work? Isn’t it their job to examine the system to make sure it’s working properly? How did they tell us everything looks great when the corrosive condensation was leaking? Instead of aggressively sending marketing text message for the maintenance service, how about pay more attention to the quality of work you do and serve the existing customers better? Words (especially your standard PR words) are meaningless without actions. -
The tech was fine. He spent time trying to diagnose the issue. In the end he told me he could not figure out the problem so therefore he could not fix it and I should call the installer.

Be Careful with this company. I was fooled into thinking they knew what they were doing.
The good: Very professional and polite employees. I has a good quoting experience and all employees on site were friendly and professional.
The Bad: After the job was done there were building materials left in my back yard, tools left behind in my house, and razor blades left all over my basement floor. After the job was complete the heat did not work. Then the cooling did not work. Over the last 6 weeks there have been 5+ differents visits to correct the problems, but the system still does not work. I've spend additional money to fix the problems, but no progress. We're mid way through summer now and I have idea if this will be resolved ... -
Made an appointment months ago, have had them cancel my appointment twice now, and still no service. No way to do business if you ask me

I called this company to repair a system malfunction error issue for the furnace that they installed for me eight years ago.
The technician came and spent about 1/2 hour on the phone with the manufacturer technical support. Tech support was able to solve the problem on the phone also he mentioned that the issue is related to the initial set up that should have been done when the system was originally installed “I paid $328.00” A couple days later I noticed a large stain on the ceiling from a water leak exactly beneath where the furnace is in the attic. When I called this company to tell them to come in to figure out what was causing the leak. It was not an issue before their technician was here. The manager told me that I would be charged for a diagnostic fee. I asked her to send a technician to check what could have happened that was likely caused by the recent repair. On the phone she said “I can tell you right now before we send anyone that it is not our responsibility and you will be charged again.” As mentioned in other reviews this company does not take responsibility for anything. I hired a technician from a different company who immediately noticed that the hose coming from the furnace was not connected to the water pump and draining onto the floor of my attic. The furnace was left open with the furnace door on the floor.
I emailed Megan the manager/owner a week ago and she has yet to respond. This leak not only damaged my ceiling, but also cost me time and money for their technician’s carelessness. -
Horrible experience!!!! They serviced my HVAC system 5 days ago, no issues were reported “your system looks brand new” .
Seems this is an ignition issue which is something they serviced.
Now they are avoiding me to fix it and they are charging me when this should be treated as a callback protection.
The technicians were helpful but customer service from Rob the manager gave conflicting information either they will come or not.
First and last time l use cooling unlimited. Don’t risk it!!!
