The best selection of plants, exceptionally helpful staff. Always something unique, that no one else has!!
-
Every plant that I have bought here has been healthy and has survived to flourish the second year. This is my go to plant place.

High quality products- hands down. The plants, shrubs, mulch ect. is top notch. Give Jeff a break
- he is running the place by himself and
still gets you your supplies in a prompt fashion. -
This is a wonderful roadside garden center with a big selection of trees, shrubs, flowers and more. Everything is healthy. Not the lowest prices but you will find things here that you won't see at the big stores.

Bought a Christmas tree Sunday as in last Sunday. It’s dead not drinking water. Don’t buy a Christmas tree there. They are all dead. Happened to two other friends

I've been doing business with J & L Landscaping for over 25 years. It is by far the best home and garden center in the area! Whether it's lanscaping services, yard design, materials such as mulch, stone, pavers, you name it, they're the best. They always have a great selection of annual and perennial plants and shrubs, and come the holiday season, look no further than J&L for the best Christmas trees, wreaths and decorations for your home or business. Stop in and see Jeff and Linda and their great staff for the best service you can ask for.

Helpful, knowledgeable, and able to point you in the right direction if they can't provide. Left my name and number for a landscaper to deliver all the goodies I bought.
Very friendly front of house staff and lots of hidden gems of trees outback!
We will be back

Terrible customer service. I called one day to ask a price of something, the woman working told me she didn't know the answer and I would have to call back another day. Called back another day and was told the same thing, so I asked to leave my information for the owner to call me back. They never returned my call. I had to call for two weeks to find out the price of this certain item. They most definitely lost a customer. I have never seen customer service so bad in my life.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I have been waiting since March to have work done on my (tiny) yard. I have been patient and just two weeks ago started to try and get updates as I have a graduation party to host in June. Not only will Jeff not come to the phone ever, he accused me of yelling at his wife. I called and politely asked for Jeff to call me back as I was getting annoyed at the lack of response since I had been waiting months. Annoyed. The only word I used. They told my landscaper to forget it, so after waiting MONTHS he just decided to not do the job. I have never yelled at anyone in my life and if they had just done the job it at least called me back I wouldn’t have had to say I was annoyed. DONT GO NEAR THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!

Bought almost $1,000 worth of trees that were supposedly under "warrantee". The owner Linda was rude, spoke over me and instead of sending someone out to look at the problem, she made a point to tell me it was probably lack of care that caused them to die. When someone finally did come out - they never called to discuss their finding. Several days later another call was made and we were given a cell number to call and check - that phone was not answered and a message stated not to leave a message! Final call was a tirade of how busy she is and they would get to me whenever they could. I had problems with them years ago delivering half the mulch I paid for - I'm done now and will never do business with them again.

Employees who to speak AT YOU and not with you. Give unsolicited opinions and don’t answer whether or not they have a particular plant in stock. Insisted she WOULD NEVER use a particular plant, despite me not asking for an opinion. Twice she insisted on not using a particular plant, finally I had to correct and say I didn’t ask what you would do only if you had it. Head elsewhere for customer service and a bigger selection.

This company cleans my neighbors yard. Now usually when yards are cleaned they rake up leaves and excess crap into bags. However this company takes the liberty of just blowing it all onto our side yard. Once we spoke to the men cleaning they simply laughed. Terrible. Will never recommend and neighbors are good friends, they will no longer be using your awful service.

You cannot appreciate J&L unless you have done business with other landscapers in the area. The J&L crew has dropped in a number of 6 and 8 foot pines for me over the years with a 100% success rate. They ensure success with their bedding formula and planting care, just follow their instructions and you have a great transplanted tree – don’t assume that all landscapers make this effort.
A recent installation of a landscape pebbles, a stone walkway and a cobblestone perimeter to fashion a Japanese garden was just another instance of the J&L crew taking their time to get it right for their customer.
You are spending your money, so why not hire a team that wants you to be happy! -
Special ordered some plants from here. I know they came from another supplier but they were very healthy and priced competitively. Jeff the owner was extremely helpful. They carry all kinds of plants, fertilizers, mulch, stone and yard supplies

Very helpful! Owner even offered to order me a large quantity of a particular annual that I needed for my business. Their prices are better than others in the area as well.
-
They have the BEST Christmas trees around! The trees are so fresh and stay forever. Very helpful staff. It's our Christmas tree tradition now for 17 years. Never a hassle.

A big step above a big box garden center. No shoddy or damaged plants here. Everything is in excellent condition tended to by a friendly and helpful staff. You may pay a bit more, but you get a lot more.

Just bought a houseplant from here that had a fungus all over it after examining it at home. I sadly brought it back, I didn’t want to I loved it, but I didn’t want the fungus to spread to my other plants. The owner was So incredibly rude and insisted there was nothing wrong with it without even looking at it. Worst part is they put it right back on the shelf. Do not recommend shopping here at all!

Make sure you follow up with these people. My husband and I had gone here for years for perennials and other things around our yard. We have been working with our city to replace a tree in front of our home and we were happy to hear that this company was on the referral list to order replacements. We went in and spoke to Linda personally, and she ordered two Kwanzan Cherry trees to be delivered by the end of the week of May 11th or so. They did not accept payment in advance, as we would be able to come and see the trees and make sure they were okay. When we did not hear anything, we called on the weekend to check in and were told to call back on Wednesday the following week because they would not know anything until Monday. Fine. We called back on Wednesday as instructed and were told that they would need to call us back in the morning. Fine. Thursday morning, afternoon and most of the evening comes and goes and still nothing, so I call back toward the end of the day. Linda then tells us that the trees DID come in, but that they were sold and that is why they did not call us. At first, she made it sound like it was the busy season so they may have just sold out from customers coming in for business, then it turned into someone may have ordered too few trees and she let it "slip through the cracks", but either way our trees were not there. She could order more to be delivered on Tuesday. By this point I'm aggravated, as it was our understanding that these trees would have been held for us, and when I attempted to ask if the trees to be delivered on Tuesday would be held for us Linda became VERY rude and told me that "she was not ten years old" and did not need to be spoken to that way. All I asked was a simple question, whether or not the trees would be held/tagged for us if they came in. After letting her go on for a few minutes in that manner, I cancelled the order and hung up. Thank God we had not paid for these trees yet. Make sure you stay on top of your order, as it appears that they will sell things out from under it and then try to blame it on the busy season.

Very disappointed with firewood purchase.
We purchased a cord of "seasoned" firewood to be delivered this week. The driver was great and put it right where we asked.
Unfortunately, the wood was extremely wet. I split some logs into small pieces of kindling about the diameter of a pencil, and the inside grain of the wood was wet to the touch. When we attempted to make a fire using a loose stack of these very thin pieces, it was extremely hard to light. I have a great deal of experience making fires. After using many burning newspaper balls under the stack, we finally got a fire going. All wood we added from this load hissed loudly from moisture, and water bubbled out the ends of the logs. I'm going to do my chimney a favor and refrain from burning this wood in my fireplace this year.
The wood was hardwood, mostly oak, and it will probably burn well after it sits in a stack for a year. We will have to buy firewood from another source for this year.
When my wife called to very nicely to let J&L landscaping know that this load of wood that they just got from Maine to sell was wet, she got a rude response from the lady who sold it to us. The lady said "IT IS SEASONED AND IM NOT GOING TO ARGUE WITH YOU ABOUT IT!"
Save yourself some trouble and buy your firewood elsewhere. I wished I had read the other Google reviews before I purchased wood here. -
Fantastic options and customer service. We get our compost there every year, and always pick up a few new plants for fun :) they also have nice 3/4 bluestone that we have used for several hardscape projects
