I have used Alvin Hollis for a couple of years now and have to say they have never disappointed me. They installed a central humidifier system and they also service my oil burner. Every employee who has been here has been professional, polite and competent. Things are done on time and properly. Sad that this is unusual but customer service is most company’s last concern. AH is just the opposite. They take customer satisfaction seriously and it shows. Would highly recommend them.

We have been customers of Alvin Hollis since 2013. We have a AC and heat plan with them. Every time they come and service our systems they have been very professional, courteous and timely. We like that family feeling every time we call them for appointments. We also used them for a plumbing issue we had last year. We were fortunate to have to come the following day and the technician diagnosed the problem quickly for us. We liked Alvin Hollis so much we recommended them to our condo board and they replaced the heating unit for the building. Dealing with Jim Bicknell was a pleasure. He is very knowledgeable, professional and timely. We highly recommend Alvin Hollis.

Alvin Hollis recently installed a mini-split for me. They came when they said they would, did the work promptly, and gave me a lesson on how to use it. The electrician then carried the old air conditioner I was replacing downstairs for me and put it in the room where I wanted it. What service! The mini-split is great.

Alvin Hollis previously delivered oil at our address. After moving into this home, we decided to stick with Alvin Hollis and were so happy we did! In addition to delivering oil, they installed a new boiler and water heater. Everyone we worked with was pleasant, professional, and responsive. Employees were on time for each scheduled service and left the space spotless. They also provided us the documentation to submit for Mass Save rebate.

Just purchased our third home, and needed a completely new HVAC system that includes gas heating. After carefully reviewing three proposals we decided Alvin Hollis had the best combination of value, responsiveness, and service area. Work was completed, and the system they recommended (much cheaper than the Carrier units others were proposing) is working great. They worked fast and super clean, even when adding an additional heating register to the kitchen. Look forward to working with Alvin Hollis for maintaining everything.

In January 2024, our old furnace started to leak. The Alvin Hollis Technician analyzed the problem and showed us where the heater water was leaking out of the furnace. Just like leaks in old auto radiator. He Technician said that the Alvin Hollis adjustor had to analyze the entire situation. In the meanwhile, the Tech puts down lots of black absorbing blotters to catch the leaking water.
On Monday, the efficient Alvin Hollis advisor arrived, determined the replacement size, the location and advised us of the financial situation Alvin Hollis allowed us to use our cumulative budget oil payments to reduce the amount financed.
On Tuesday, two big Alvin Hollis trucks arrived, early morning, backed up by an even bigger third party truck. By late morning, the old furnace had been disconnected and big burly men dragged it out of the basement and down the driveway to the third truck.
Work continued, and by 2:30-3:00 PM, we were testing the thermostat and checking the heat flowing through the pipes. Great work. Efficient planning and execution. Rapid replacement.
Alvin Hollis has been our oil dealer since 1986 and they came through every time. In the big snows of 2015, Alvin Hollis delivered oil to us. With our recent furnace replacement, Alvin Hollis turned a disturbing disaster into a rapid repair...

Happy customer since 2015. I have never once had a service-related issue because they use Bioheat, which is better for my heating oil system, plus they use additives that actively clean and keep my system running at peak efficiency. I watched the service tech change my filter out during an annual tune up once and it looked brand spanking new. There was also the night when my old thermostat broke and the on-call service tech painstakingly walked me through how to install the new one over the phone to save me the hundreds of dollars it would have cost to send someone out after hours. Great company, always giving back to the community.... Highly recommend Alvin Hollis.

Our tenant in HULL contacted Hollis about a smell emanating from the furnace. An executive from Hollis called to inform me on the situation and to tell me a proposal to replace the furnace would be emailed to me while I was away for a week. The proposal was professional, detailed and recommended we replace the old furnace. My family agreed..

Mike from Hollis met me on-time on the agreed upon date. Mike was a hardworking, personable young man as was the electrician who joined us. The work was completed in one day. Mike removed all the debris and cleaned up as promised.

I have been a customer for almost 30 years when they installed by first boiler in 1993. They again installed a more modern boiler in my home last month. There is a reason I am a long-time customer. The advice I received almost thirty years ago remains. Alvin Hollis is one solid company. They are always honest and up-front, dependable and competitive on pricing. I can count on one hand the number of times I've had to call them to the house for an emergency in 30 years, and every time, they were right there including one cold Thanksgiving morning 20 years ago.

Once I decided it was time to replace my HVAC system (gas furnace and air conditioning), you can’t imagine the anxiety that accompanied the decision. It’s not that I didn’t want to do it, it was the process of finding someone that I could trust. I did my homework on the web and asked for lots of referrals, but when it came to my vetting the recommended contractors, my experience was unfortunately what I expected. You see, I am a female senior citizen. Many of the contractors seemed to think they could tell me anything and quote the world and I would accept it. Enter Alvin Hollis, who was completely different. From making my initial appointment to the finishing of the job, I was treated professionally and with respect. Their workers were on time and worked quietly and efficiently. Once cleanup occurred, you couldn’t even tell they had been working there – except that I had brand new equipment! Their initial quote was exactly what I paid in the end. (You would not believe some of the outrageous statements and quotes that I received from others along the way). I have not regretted one thing since I made the Alvin Hollis choice! My Family has been an Alvin Hollis customer for atleast 43 years. They continuously deliver prompt, professional, and comprehensive service. Other companies may, MAY offer an initial lower price on oil or installation of various quality products. However, those customers soon find out that not only has their service experience been less than satisfactory, but also, experiencing unsettling price increases. As a comprehensive company, Alvin Hollis can do so many things - from replacing all disintegrating cast Iron plumbing waste lines with PVC, to service and installation of virtually every type of HVAC equipment. Not just your average "oil" co. Their service plan has kept my 28 year old furnace (Alvin Hollis initially installed) running smoothly, and when I inquired about replacement, service engineer - John Gargiulo actually advised that given its condition and outstanding record of service, there is no need for replacement at the time. The point being - Alvin Hollis, specifically Mr. Gargiulo doesn't push the upsell; only an objective evaluation of the situation. Infact, there is never any pressure - even when I recently converted from an oil-fired hotwater heater to an electric. All of my questions were answered by Mr Gargiulo - patiently and professionally over a 2 week period prior to signing the contract. I very much appreciated all of his work on the project!! Also, the "Budget Plan" has really been a godsend in paying for services. The entire staff (especially Pat, when i call with questions, or asking for information) has always been courteous, professional, and knowledgable!! Finally, having been a care-giver for 8 years for my mom (with a debilitating health condition) I could not afford to be with out heat or hot water. The emergency service response time by Alvin Hollis, on the coldest, stormiest days and nights were amazing!!

We recently had Alvin Hollis replace our leaking hot water heater. I found the issue right before I left on a business trip, which was not ideal. But the team at Alvin Hollis was great. They were able to give me pricing and options based off a few photos I emailed to them. We wound up going with a heat pump hot water heater, and they handled the permitting, plumbing, and electrical themselves. The price was fair, and the work was completed less than three days after we first saw the leak.

I've been a customer of Alvin Hollis since 1996. Their service is is always above and beyond. Over the years we had a few incidents of no heat during snowstorms and frigid weather, not only did they get to our house quickly, but resolved the issues quickly too. Alvin gives me peace of mind knowing that they will be there if we need them. Recently, we had to replace our 30 year old burner and hot water heater. From start to finish Alvin spent time with us to explain our options, cost etc. This is a huge expense and again we have peace of mind that a company like Alvin provided us a quality product, top notch knowledgeable technicians/installers not to mention how helpful their office staff is. They installed in one day, came on time, and cleaned up like they were never here. The owner even stopped by during the install to see how things were going. That really impressed me. I highly recommend them. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

Alvin Hollis boasts that they have been around for 4 generations. Well, the way Jim Bicknell is handling the business...their future might take a downturn.

Jim Bicknell is rude and arrogant. He most likely would not have risen to the position as Director if it hadn't been that he got into this business by the accident of birth!

Mr. Bicknell has no concept of customer service whatsoever. Furthermore, his behavior strongly suggests that it would wise for him to sign up for an Anger Management program. Who slams the phone down on a customer?

And, his pricing? Well best you really do some comparison shopping before you let Alvin Hollis anywhere near your wallet.

I'm very happy with the service I've been receiving from Alvin Hollis over the past few years. Oil deliveries and inspections are always on time and done quickly. I had them replace my aging oil tank, and they were very helpful with explaining the process and getting the job done quickly and smoothly. My experiences with the staff have been positive, they are always friendly, helpful, and easy to reach.

Alvin Hollis came highly recommended by my inspector. I worked with Darlene and she was phenomenal. As a first time home owner, I called around to get an idea of the experience with a few different oil companies and Darlene’s customer service blew everyone else out of the water. She came over to look at my oil tank and helped me understand the process. I haven’t gotten a fill yet, but I feel like I’m in good hands. I had a question for her and she was prompt in responding as soon as she got to the office. Highly recommend!

As a first time home buyer, my experience with Alvin Hollis and Darlene couldn't have been smoother. Alvin Hollis had been servicing the house my fiancé and I bought for years. Darlene was present the day of the home inspection to inspect the oil tank and the boiler and quickly gave us the information about the equipment. She was also incredibly helpful as we were looking into oil delivery service for our home. And on top of all this, their prices and service plan couldn't be touched by any other local companies we spoke to.

While honestly no one likes paying for their oil, it is a good feeling to see Alvin Hollis arrive on a cold and snowy January day. Every year the burner is serviced and the occasional emergency call is handled promptly. Over the years Alvin Hollis has also installed a new furnace for us (done on an emergency basis on New Year's Eve), a new water heater, a new air conditioning unit and most recently replaced our old oil tank.
