We had our ten year old water heater go in the middle of the night and flood our finished basement. Alvin Hollis was in that morning to assess and once the flood waters were mitigated they were back to install a brand new oil fired water heater along with plumbing upgrades. The technician was very knowledgeable and professional and got the job done in a timely manner. They helped make an otherwise very stressful situation that much easier. We’ve been customers since we moved in in 2020 and have always been extremely happy with their customer service and preventative maintenance services.

We have been doing business with Alvin Hollis for more than 40 years. Had my oil tank replaced a week ago. As usual they did a terrific job. Very professional in all aspects. Fair price and overall great service.

Super Bowl Sunday Oil Tank starts to leak. Put aluminum pan under tank. Waited till Monday morning to call Alvin Hollis at 8:00AM. He showed up around 9:30AM. (Only about 1/4 cup leaked into pan). He cleaned the tank & put plug in hole, and said someone from the office would contact us. They called and asked if Wednesday Next week was good for us. It was!
Tank removal team showed up early, said they would be here couple of hours. Showed them how to get in and out of house. Couple hours later heat came back on. Looked out 10 or 15 minutes later and they were gone. Went down and looked, everything was all cleaned up. They also reversed the tank. Now it is easier to get to the shut off.

At first I thought this was going to be a big mess, with Alvin Hollis it was a piece of cake.

We are a legacy Alvin Hollis family from Brockton. My parents, my grandparents and my uncle have all used Alvin Hollis since moving to Brockton in 1970. They would never consider using another company and here is just one example of why. On a recent routine maintenance call, the technician discovered water was leaking into the heating chamber. After a full assessment, he determined a new boiler was needed and shut the system down for safety reasons. The Alvin Hollis Team mobilized extremely quickly from assessment to procurement and the installation. The entire team was professional, courteous and friendly. We have used Alvin Hollis for over 6 decades and will continue to for many years to come.

I will preface this by saying overall I was very pleased with the service Alvin Hollis provided to install a new gas furnace in my house. Their pricing was very fair and the techs were very professional and courteous and made sure everything was spotless when they left. The reason for not giving 5 stars is because more then a week went by before I finally got a call back after leaving several messages, which was really starting to annoy me since a tech was sent out to run diagnostics and I was informed the secondary heat exchanger was failing(good amount of water was leaking)and CO2 levels were elevated. This happened in mid November and the nights were starting to get very chilly and we did not want to take a chance running the system with elevated co2 levels. Eventually I was finally contacted and had the proposal emailed and a day for installation was set up,from that point on everything went well. Even though the communication response time could have been better, I still highly recommend Alvin Hollis.

Alvin Hollis has been my oil heat provider since I bought my home from my dad in 2008, and they were my parents' oil heat provider for several decades before that -- and, as a bonus, Alvin Hollis also does plumbing for their heating oil customers so I never have a problem getting a plumber when I have needed one. We have had nothing but complete satisfaction with all of their services. Their technicians and plumbers always take the time to explain what's going on, even to this customer who has a strong engineering background and likes to ask a lot of questions, and they do their work to the highest standards of professionalism, completely free of a "sailor's vocabulary" to which you might not want your children or grandchildren to be exposed. They always take away their trash and old parts and pick up their work area completely before they leave. They also deliver oil reliably before my tank runs out -- my tank ran empty only once, and that was because the delivery driver went to the wrong address and filled my neighbor's tank instead of mine. They have always been very responsive to "emergency" situations, too, both with my heating system and with occasional emergency plumbing situations.

Have used Alvin Hollis for years and again they did not disappoint !! Recently inquired, purchased and installed a mini split system in a room with limited access for conduit & piping. From consult to install process was seamless, sales rep and technician were extremely knowledgeable and treated my home like their own. Will continue to call Alvin Hollis for our HVAC, Heating and Plumbing needs.

Not sure if I would trust people who drive like maniacs on the road to come to my home. On my commute home 11/3/2025 around 5:20ish a very large truck from this company was trying to I’m not sure but it seemed like he was trying to race me? Two lanes were coming to an end and I was behind a car when out of nowhere this truck license plate Y24403 came up on my left and tried to swerve into my car! Speeding in a 30 and then when I passed them at another light shortly after aggressive yelling at me as I passed. I was kind of scared as he was a grown man and I am a young girl and we were still going to the same way for a while. So if you’re looking to hire this company at least you know they are willing to run young woman off the road and try to get into road rage battles to get to your home. Erratic and unsafe driving is simply unprofessional.

Ive dealt with many home heating oil companies over my many years of home ownership, none is as professional and as responsive as Alvin Hollis. At a recent heating system cleaning they noticed my oil tank was suspect. An oil spill could cost me thousands to clean up. Within a week they had a crew out to install a new tank. That crew was excellent as all AH crews are, in my experience.

We’ve been Alvin Hollis oil heat customers since 1974 when we moved into our new houses in Pembroke.

So, this Spring when we decided to replace our 50+ year old original forced hot air furnace, add central air, a couple of mini-splits and replace our 25 year old electric hot water heater we naturally contacted Alvin Hollis.

They were very easy to work with, explained what would need to be done to match our wishes and explained it all so there was no surprises along the way.

The big surprise for us was how little disruption there was to our house considering the addition of the mini-splits and their associated piping and electrical work to the wall units.

The Alvin Hollis installation people were very professional, polite and there was no mess!

We were very glad we trusted Alvin Hollis for what we considered a major renovation job. There is no reason for you to look any further, you won’t be disappointed.

Alvin Hollis recently replaced my 21 year old central air conditioning system. This was a great experience. Their engineer came to the house to look at the existing installation, discussed with me some additional items I wanted done such as the installation of smart thermostats, and created a detailed quote that itemized all of the items we discussed. One of my requirements was that the work be completed before the summer air conditioning season began. The installation was done in April, well before I needed the system to be running. The three person installation group, which included an electrician, was knowledgeable and careful not to damage the house as they were carrying heavy components up to the attic. The system is running well. While it is a similar system to the original, the new one is much quieter, does a better job of cooling the house than the original system did even when it was new, and is more energy efficient. The work was completed on time and on budget. No surprises. Well done.

I recently had a new oil tank installed by Alvin Hollis. Everything went smoothly. The people who installed it were professional, courteous, and had no trouble navigating through our back door. They had everything running in a reasonable amount of time. I highly recommend them as an oil company as well as a service provider.

Let me start by saying that I have been a customer of Alvin Hollis for 44 years. I just recently had them replace my 34 year old furnace with a new, more efficient model. The process was seamless. The salesman was knowledgeable and very informative. The team that removed the old system and the technicians that installed the new were polite, efficient and professional. My basement was spotless when the installation was completed. Over the years, I have always received prompt, efficient service. In addition, being able to budget my oil/service costs gives me peace of mind knowing that I won't be hit with unexpectedly high bills during the winter months. Based on my extensive experience with Alvin Hollis, I would highly recommend them.

I want to share my experience with Alvin Hollis (AH). I recently found a slight leak coming from my oil tank. It was very unsettling to say the least. I called AH and my call was handled with care and urgency. The service team was notified and after fighting a lot of rush hour traffic the tech arrived the same day to secure the leak. Several years ago AH suggested I add the tank insurance and I’m glad I did.

Jim Bicknell contacted me about the removal and replacement of the tank and within 2 weeks the work occurred.

I can’t say enough good things about the team that handled the job. They explained the process, worked efficiently and were very pleasant and respectful of me, my dogs and my property.

Recently, Alvin Hollis Co. installed a new furnace in my home. Everything was done with promptness and efficiency. I’ve been an Alvin Hollis Customer for over 45 yrs. The company has installed furnaces, central air conditioning, water heaters, and plumbing components in my home for years. The oil delivery is very dependable and the maintenance is top quality. This is a superior company.

I have been a long time customer (over 20 years). All calls placed to them are answered promptly and addressed efficiently. Oil prices are within the range of other companies. Deliveries made on time. Had new system replaced 2 years ago and oil tank replaced 1 month ago. Excellent service. The tank replacement workers were very respectful of me and my home. Completed the job and cleaned up behind themselves. All emergency calls I have placed were responded to ( even when it was something as simple as the switch wasn't on) with a smile and concern.

Jim and his team put an end to my six month Carrier HVAC Warranty debacle in less than thirty days. Tried the local yocals but no love. From start to finish, with as few as four emails, it is back to operating like new again. Carrier Customer service extended the warranty and Jim provided the manpower and expertise. Wish all warranty work was this easy. Call Jim.

Alvin Hollis continues to use a shady tactic of leaving voicemails for previous customers that says you have a service appointment scheduled for this afternoon, which is false, but they have to reschedule. This pressures the person to call them back. Then they try and see if they can pressure or use fear tactics to get you to actually schedule an unnecessary service appointment. There is no apology for the "error", just gaslighting. AH has been using this tactic for years.

Great, longtime company. We just had work done on our archaic heating system which is now working like new. Tech was very professional,communicative and polite.

We've had nothing but positive experiences with Alvin Hollis. We've been with the company for 30+ years. Top notch service. Recently we had 3 AC condensers replace (no working AC!) John came out, within a day of our call, gave us a resonable quote, install 2 weeks later. The crew was professional, neat & personable. Two weeks later, we installed a split AC unit. Finished in a timely manner, neat work, friendly crew! Highly recommend.
