1. Unreliable! Did not show up for service on the date scheduled.

David came out in one days time and cut a left over crab tree stump ground it for Mt and remove some tree logs left in my yard by someone else all this was done jn like 2 hours.amazing work thank you David I will think of you every time I work in my yard

I went back-and-forth with these people for literally months. When they finally set an appointment for an estimate, they never showed. They claimed they did come, and would email me an estimate. Three months later, I never got the estimate. I would not trust this company to be responsible with their work.

Response to Owner: I called you guys in Novemeber for an estimate, but didn't hear back until 12/31 via text with Loryn. I definiately did not get an estimate. I also looked in my spam. Also, the hemlocks need to be trimmed every year. I have been looking for additional quotes (but that is besides the point of this review). If you didn't want to do it in the Winter, then that should have been told to me instead of having me wait. It's interesting and telling that the owner never seems to take responsibility for any of the negative reviews.

Western Mass Tree Care did some work for me last year. They cut down 1 tree and trimmed two others. I found them to be reasonably priced, friendly and they did a great job and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely recommend them for your tree cutting and trimming needs.

I recently had Western Mass Tree Care removed 5 pine and several maples.The trees were between a garage and a house, pretty tight situation.The workers expertly removed them. A 15 ft. section of chain linK needed to be removed. This was done and the fence reattached. The price for removal was extremely good.The trees were removed, yard raked up, and all in all no complaints at all. The guy in charge, David, extremely nice guy. I would highly recommend WMTC if you need any tree work done JOB WELL DONE!!

David Murphy and his crew are professional, responsive, knowledgeable, courteous, and clean. They come when they say they are going to come and do what they say they are going to do. And plus they clean up all the debris. What more could you ask ?!

David and his crew did a great job taking down a 100-ft pine right along our home for an affordable price. Watching most of the process, they were very professional and definitely knew what they were doing. I was very impressed with their cleanup efforts afterwards - I’d definitely recommend Western Ma Tree Care - thanks David!

Excellent service once again! We needed stumps ground for our bushes that we removed and not only was David able to remove them quickly, but the price was fair. And, as always, the cleanup was great, too. Another great service provided by Western Mass Tree Care.

Dave and his crew did an amazing job at my house. He took down at least a dozen trees and ground the stumps. Some of the trees where on the house. Other trees were massive. No damage whatsoever to the house, the barn, or the fence. He was very responsive and on time. I will definitely use Dave again in the future.

David was working on the next door neighbor's yard and I asked him if he could take a look at a tree growing over my garage. Wonderfully priced, professional and quick removal. I have had experience with other tree services, this one was very user friendly and he listened to what I said!

When a large tree limb fell on my house Dave came out in under an hour to help us out. He returned with his crew and got my large oak trees trimmed up. I highly recommend Western MA Tree Care. They are responsive, professional and great to work with!

Dave and his crew did a good job removing the tree and stump. I also contracted with him to regrade the area and plant grass. This is where he fell short. He promised to come back at the end of September or early October to do the work. I had to call him and he apologized and said he'd do it in early November. When he did come and spread the loam, it was too late in the season. He said he'd come back in the summer. Here's where I made my mistake, I paid him the balance of the proposal. I called Dave in April and he said he'd pick up the seed and come out. Well April became May, May became June, and now we're at the end of July, he hadn't showed up, and has failed to return at least 3 telephone calls. Needless to say I've spread new grass. I simply want to be replaced half of the quote he gave to do that work. Yes he's been busy and I gave him leeway to do my work, but this has gone on way too long. I would appreciate an amicable resolution Dave.

If you don't do landscaping, then you should have told me that when we discussed the tree removal. At that time I was dealing with prostate cancer and not able to do it. Had I known that I would have made other arrangements to do the landscaping. I didn't hire anyone to seed my yard, I did that myself since I'm feeling better. I called you 4 times since April, you only responded to the first. I spread 2 5 pound bags of Scott's starter seed on 2 separate occasions which cost me $42.00 from Rocky's. I usually purchase my seed at Browns, and that costs me $95.00 for a 25 pound bag on sale. So if you do leave a bag of seed I would appreciate something that is comparable to what I use, not a $10.00 bag of rye grass.

After searching and calling multiple tree companies who were booked months out (understandably) we found Western Mass Tree Care. David assured us he would be able to get the work done. To top it off we needed the work done even sooner than we originally planned and David and team graciously fit us into their already busy schedule.

Not only did they do an amazing job with the trees, but there was not a single branch (or leaf!) left after the job was done.

If we need more tree work done, we will absolutely be using them again. Highly recommend!

This January’s snow storm left me with a very damaged white pine tree. Unfortunately there was no saving it. Western Mass tree company came and gave me a quote that was the best I could find. Dave was very nice and understanding of my needs and took care of it. I’m very grateful and really appreciate the fast and professional service that was giving. I highly recommend them!

David and his team did an excellent job of trimming and removing dead branches from our trees. We recently bought an old home and the trees had been long neglected. They are very knowledgeable and professional, their prices are reasonable. Did a great job cleaning up after. Will definitely use again and highly recommend.

Dave and his team came on a Saturday, took the tree down and chipped away all the branches. First thing Monday morning he returned and took the large sections of the tree trunk.

After both visits the cleanup was wonderful. No lawn damage or scattered debris. Did a great job and would not hesitate to hire Dave and his team again or recommend them.

I recently hired Western Mass Tree Care for a tree removal service after a tree fell on my garage. While the job was ultimately completed, the overall experience was mixed due to communication issues and concerns about property damage. Unfortunately, during the removal process, when I was not home, his truck accidentally struck my fence, breaking a post. David informed me of the damage and assured me it would be addressed.

David initially suggested that a fence company include the repair cost in the quote for another fence damaged by the tree, which would be covered by my insurance. I did not agree to this because I felt would be boarding on fraud and instead suggested that he involve his insurance, as his website explicitly states that they are fully insured. He was reluctant to file an insurance claim and instead offered to pay for the repair personally. I agreed to this arrangement and informed him that I would obtain a separate quote for the fence repair. I accepted this arrangement because David had been flexible regarding the payment timeline for the tree removal and agreed on this course of action.

However, the situation became more complicated afterward. David came to my property twice unannounced to inspect and move the damaged fence post. After I raised concerns about these unannounced visits—especially as my toddler and their mother were home alone—he began notifying me before coming. The repair plan also shifted from paying for a replacement to having the post repaired and reinstalled by a fabricator he knew. I was initially alright with this, because it gave me a chance to modify the fence, but given more thought and given my experience as a welder and the thin gauge of the aluminum, I was skeptical about the structural integrity of a repaired post and preferred a full replacement. David eventually agreed to this.

He mentioned that a fence company he knew could replace the post, but when they came out, they indicated to him because I was not home when this happened, that the replacement would not be an exact match and would require brackets. I was open to this option, pending a quote from that company and a second quote from another fence company. When I assumed that any hired company would handle the entire repair, David's response became, in my opinion, confrontational and aggressive, implying that I doubted his ability to reinstall the post—which was not my intention.

Due to his tone and the ongoing complications, I decided it would be best to pursue the repair through his insurance. I communicated this to him, explaining my concerns and requesting his insurance information. He did not respond. I followed up the next day via email, reiterating my request for his insurance details so I could initiate a claim, to expedite the process. I received an email where he began to degrade me, and my partner and use vulgarity. He also stated that he does not have insurance on that truck, that he will be sending people out to give him a quote to fix it the fence unannounced and how I will need to take him to small claims court.

I want to emphasize that I am not being slanderous and am making baseless claims. Everything is well-documented. I have security footage of the truck hitting the fence, his unannounced and announced visits, and a complete archive of all email correspondence regarding this issue.

Very fair pricing AND great quality service
The team came out on time, trimmed a 60 foot tree that had branches hanging over my roof all while making sure my fence and existing plants underneath don’t get damaged. They even made sure not to trim unnecessary branches so the tree doesn’t become unhealthy. After the tree was trimmed they cleaned up and used a chipping machine to get rid of the many branches. Best quality and fair tree service around, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! 👍🏼
