The repairman came early. He worked efficiently, cleanly and quietly. I would definitely use Accutemp again

I am giving 3 stars because the technician was friendly and arrived on time, but subtracting 2 stars because he did not tell me the torch was going to cost $50, and I felt like the information he gave me could’ve been done in an hour.

My HVAC was broken, and while they were able to send someone over, it was $280 for the first hour, $210 for the second, an additional $50 dollars for using a torch to melt the ice around my outdoor compressor. While the hourly pricing was transparent, the outcome was that I spent $545 to have someone read me an error code. In the end, my HVAC is still broken.

AccuTemp seems like a reputable service, but I would not recommend the emergency service. It just did not feel like they truly cared, as I was visibly stressed because I knew the whole process was billable by the hour, but they did not move with urgency. I understand that a business needs to make a living, but I hope they introduce a discount if the outcome was unsolved, otherwise it can feel like their business model is taking advantage of those who are vulnerable due to emergency situations.

Accutemp helped us replace heating and central air conditioning systems for both units in our two-family home. It was a big project, and we didn't know much about heating and air conditioning going in. Accutemp was informative and patient, educating us about the different options, answering all of our questions, and helping us choose the system that would work best for us. The technicians doing the work at our house were always professional and knowledgeable. The new heating and air conditioning work beautifully, and our energy bills are lower!

A technician from Accutemp Engineering named Jamie provided yearly maintenance on my AC system today, I have to say he was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. When he completed his work I could tell
that he paid attention to detail and as he did his work he fixed some small issues which he did not have to do. He is a conscientious worker.
If anyone has this company doing work at their residence they should request this technician.

I can't say enough about the team at Accutemp. Damon came out to do an estimate on a new gas boiler, and in the process of evaluating, cleaned out the old boiler's ignition in hopes of preventing our boiler from shutting off on cold nights at NO CHARGE. (As a side note, another company who we hired to service our boiler previously this year - refused to touch it for fears they would break it, while still billing us for the cleaning). The proposal from Accutemp came in below some other proposals we received. The installation team was extremely knowledgeable, punctual, hardworking and respectful. Performing the work were Troy, Z and Mike. Unlike our prior experience with expert salesmen who disappeared upon selling the work to be replaced with what seemed like novice technicians, Damon was very involved in the whole process. He came by multiple times during the job and even sent the guys to do follow up testing on the unit. The guys were extremely thorough, and our basement, which was a mess when they got there, was spotless after. I just wish we knew of Accutemp when we were installing our mini-splits! This is our go to HVAC company from here on out. Thank you Accutemp!

Used accutemp over the summer when my AC was not working. They arrived and fixed my AC the same day I called. Their tech thoroughly explained to me what the issue was and helped me get a better understating of my system. Also, this is the first company that completely cleaned up everything and made the equipment look better than it was before they arrived. I will definitely be using accutemp in the future. We used Accutemp to replace our aging 5-ton residential air conditioning system. Damon met with us to understand our needs and to prepare a proposal. Damon and Troy were the main installers. In all respects, their work was first rate. Both Accutemp and our former vendor proposed Carrier Systems at similar costs. But the Accutemp proposal was for a system that was more than one step superior to the system proposed by our former vendor. So, we believe that the price proposed by Accutemp was reasonable.

More important than the price, of course, is the operation of the system. So far, the system operates great and we remain confident that that review of its operational success and efficiency will remain over a longer period of time.

Add to the reasonable price and successful operation of the system the care of the installers during their time at our house and one reaches the 5-star rating given in this review.

A couple of things to know. I am a real customer of Acctemp. Some people think that companies write their own reviews and make them look like they were written by their customer's. Second, I should have written a review when I first hired Accutemp, but, you know we never do get around to writing them do we? Over a number of years I have used Accutemp for new installations and repairs of existing A/C units. Some installs posed significant obsticles. Not a problem for them. So, here's the deal. You want great pricing, great Customer Service and incredible installers? Then this is the company to choose, bar none! It really is that simple.

Professional, polite, friendl and knowledgeable. Did an annual inspection of my unit and explained everything clearly. They were fantastic from the start when helping figure out which unit I need it and how to install it.

The condenser on AC failed. When I called to schedule a service appointment they were able to get me on the schedule next day. The technician who came on site was extremely professional. He explained everything that needed to be done. He fixed the system and got me back up and running quickly. I would highly recommend Accutemp and plan to use them in the future.

Accutemps technician was on time and conducted himself and a professional manner. He really took the time to go over all the repairs he had to do before doing them and let us know ahead of time what the cost would be. I would highly recommend them for any HVAC service needed at your residence or buisiness. Their response time was incredibly fast and they saved us money in the long run.

Their tech Nate has always been responsive and respectful, offering explanations when needed, and Chris has been great about making sure that any emergency (or non-emergency) work that we need is properly prioritized.

I had a very good experience using Accutemp to update my heating system.

The job included adding a new central AC system and replacing my old steam heating system with a new forced hot air system. Included was the removal of two old steam boilers and 14 heavy cast iron radiators. I got two estimates for the job. Both estimates were about the same. Given the number of excellent reviews for Accutemp, I selected them for the job. I was not disappointed.

I contracted the job with Damon in February for a May start. Damon explained to me the different heating and cooling systems available and helped me choose the right ones for my home. The first week of May, the workers showed up ready to go. The workers were polite and efficient. Troy, in particular, worked on the job almost every day and had an incredible work ethic. The old radiators and boilers were removed, giving me much more room in the basement and in all the rooms in the house. The AC unit was installed where we requested and I was given instructions for maintaining the system. The new gas heating system is sleek and clean. Troy made sure to show me how to replace the air filter and provided me with all of the warranty and owners materials. All of the old pipes were removed and all of the excess materials were removed at the completion of the job. I even have a new thermostat which lets me control the systems remotely with my cell phone.

I have had experiences with other contractors in the past where my questions were brushed aside and my phone calls and emails never returned. That was the the most important difference with Accutemp. Damon made sure to return every phone call and email quickly. All of my concerns and questions were immediately addressed to my satisfaction. Damon even provided the forms I needed for a Mass Save system rebate.

I would highly recommend Accutemp for HVAC system work.

What started out as a promising relationship turned into a bit of a 'scammy' service. Troy from Accutemp was very quick to respond to a call, do a site visit and diagnose a problem. Very quick to set-up a follow-up to perform repair. Very happy about that and this was one of the reasons to choose Accutemp over other service providers. The tech performing the repair was also professional and came across as knowledgeable. However, the good experience ended there - one big surprise at the day of the repair that the new unit offered as replacement of the defective one was a lower Carrier model. This was not discussed with me ahead of time, the new equipment was simply delivered and old unit hauled away before I was consulted. when that happened and the tech connected me with Troy, he acknowledged the difference and mentioned that the unit can be upgraded (allegedly Carrier didn't have my kind of units in stock) in the future if we see difference in power consumption (old unit was Greenspeed, while the new one wasn't), which at a later point Troy denied to have said to me. However, my biggest gripe is that Accutemp and Troy have NEVER sent me an invoice for the service performed - as of 8/31 and several reminders to Troy by email and direct conversation over the phone, I still have not received an invoice for a service performed on 8/2/22, or 29 days later! Don't get me wrong, I was excited about this company bc of excellent reviews, but maybe they are not telling the complete story about Accutemp? Regardless, keep in mind this experience when dealing with Accutemp as it is completely unacceptable to not provide invoice / receipt nor explain all the details about the service and only do that after the fact when is too late to do anything else....

I hired Accutemp for a big HVAC project (installation of a ducted dehumidifer, ERV, heat pump) and from the beginning of the process, Accutemp was responsive, respectful, and honest, walking me through my options, explaining how everything works, executing all work in a timely manner, and helping me with the paperwork for rebates from Mass Save. The customer service is topnotch and when it turned out that the oil boiler (which was left behind as an emergency heat source) was still operating as the main heating source, a tech was sent out within 24 hours to fix the issue, following up with an email reporting everything he had done. I've never encountered an HVAC contractor this communicative and responsive, and I will be certainly retaining them for all my HVAC needs in the future.

Had to have two out of my five mini splits removed from the wall by Accutemp in order to have some work done in the house. When the work was finished, I had to have Accutemp come back in and put the two removed mini splits back on the wall and reset the entire system. Everything went off without a hitch, and I was very pleased with their service and their technicians.

I believe they deserve a five star rating because two other companies had difficulty figuring out what the problem was with my water source heat pump and when they finally found out after about $1000 worth of fees, neither one of them could locate parts for replacement or quickly replace the whole unit. one of companies who had installed it said they no longer had anyone who could do that work.
Shawn at AccuTemp's quoted me a price for a 6 ton replacement unit but when he looked at the space she said six times was actually too much for the size of the space and downgraded to a 4 ton which saved me $1000. Nothing is cheap of course are these days but they were timely and their installation and I didn't have to wait to frustrate my Tenant any longer from having no HVAC. I would highly recommend this company to anyone probably the first place to try in my opinion.

The team came on time and got the system installed as planned. We are fully informed of the process. It was a wonderful experience working with the AccuTemp team. We will definitely recommend them to others.

Accutemp was great to work with to retrofit a heat pump system to my late 1960's era house. They provided me with multiple options for the hardware install, helped configure a system that would keep the house comfortable year-round, and then presented me with the most competitive quote I received for my project. The install team was great to work with the week they were here, and put in a lot of effort to clean up as they installed ceiling vents and minisplit units in my house. Throughout the project, they were extremely professional and prioritized excellent customer service. Overall, I would highly recommend working with Accutemp for your HVAC project. (I was in no way incentivized to write this review, Accutemp did a great job!)

I had a complicated experience with Accutemp Engineering, and sometimes it is only the complicated experiences that show that a business is to be trusted.

Though it greatly oversimplifies the story, I'll just say that my AC system was initially excessively loud. Accutemp showed real care and dedication in improving the situation at no cost to me.

I had significant apprehension in dealing with the situation, thinking that they could be defensive or dismissive. They were not at all. They were positive and professional, and it took a lot of labor to mitigate my problem.

Accutemp did a great job replacing my old package unit (combined gas furnace and electric AC) with a modern, efficient Mitsubishi Hyper Heat heat pump. What really impressed me about Accutemp was that they were responsive and able to get the job done. I talked to several different vendors before ultimately contracting with Accutemp - one prominent installer was willing to do a zoom call to make a recommendation about a new system "in a few weeks", another installer said he had customers waiting for Mitsubishi heat pumps to arrive since five months ago and didn't know when he would even be able to get units to install.

When I spoke to Accutemp, Damon showed up the next day to measure my furnace closet and make a recommendation of a system that would work for my condo, including recommending an exterior unit that could be wall-mounted to fit my particular unit. Damon told me he would be able to get the Mitsubishi Hyper Heat model that I wanted within 6-8 weeks of receiving my deposit - and he had it and was ready to go within that time frame as promised. Accutemp lined up their own electric sub-contractor to install the supplemental heat, so I didn't have to do any of the work finding an electrician (another installer had told me, "well, you'll have to find your own electrician to wire up the circuit for the supplemental heat..."), so I was glad that Accutemp took care of all of that for me. They were even able to use an adapter to keep my Eccobee thermostat, which was important to me because I like to be able to monitor the temperature from my Apple watch.

For the install itself, Donny and his crew did a good job keeping my condo clean despite having to move all of that heavy machinery through it (thank you!), and the electricians were careful not to leave a mess or poke more holes than needed to run the new circuit through my ceiling.

I can't speak to the air conditioning side of the heat pump yet (since the new unit was installed in November), but the heat works very well and keeps my unit at exactly the temperature that I set it. Even when it's pretty cold out (e.g., 19 degrees, like this past week), the heat pump has worked perfectly.

I would recommend Accutemp for anyone in the area who wants a hassle-free installation. They get it done.
