LDA designed and installed a new stone patio in our back yard in October 2023, which included demolishing an existing old pressure treated deck, and adding new plantings and bistro lighting. From start to finish - everything was done professionally. The project designer (Steve) and project manager (Gerson) were fantastic - including being extremely accommodating on an 11th hour change during construction. These guys are clearly a high quality outfit - and expect nothing less than perfection and 100% satisfaction from their customers. Pricing for the project was very consistent with what is advertised on their website.

When my wife bought our house we knew we would need to redo the entire exterior. The backyard looked like an abandoned squatters camp. We are so thrilled that we found Land Design Associates! I’m the neighbor of a customer in Needham. I came home from the hospital to see the James Egan Land Design team blowing my neighbor’s leaves into the street and the residual dirt and leaves that didn’t make it onto the tarp, they blew into my yard. When I told them they cannot do that and needed to come blow it out of my yard, they ignored me and resumed blowing leaves and debris into a different neighbor’s yard. The self proclaimed supervisor tried pushing back questioning when I’d seen it about 1 minute earlier. After walking to the truck to get the JE-LDA number, leaving a message, and telling them my next call was to the police or town authorities, they eventually came over and blew stuff back into the road and down the street toward their truck.

We couldn’t be happier with the new curb appeal of our home! Jason provided a fantastic design and worked with us through a few revisions until it was just right. Jason provided amazing design options for our project and was transparent about pricing options, offering the best valued based solutions. He and the Land Design Associates team transformed our front yard, expertly solutioning some difficult drainage issues in the process. Jason carefully suggested planting and design options that harmonized the front yard with the wooded surroundings and incorporated much of our existing plantings in the process. Jason's communication was awesome - he checked in frequently and was super flexible and available. The installation team was also very professional. They were there on time every day and expertly managed the several phases of the project. After reaching out to about 6 landscape company and receiving no response or got response but never got a quote, it was so nice to work with Land Design. I saw there sign in Brookline and decided to call not expecting even a call back. But not only did I get a call back but with no time got a visit from Jim. In no time I had a design and a budget. Both Jim and Robin were patient with me in my selection process. Super wonderful and easy to work with. The work was broken up into 2 projects. Project 1 was pavers in the back, gutters drain in to wells as well ask a retaining wall and grass. The crew on this project were amazing, professionals, punctual, clean and super nice. In the spring the It was about clearing, planting, irrigation and lights. This crew was young, friendly, professional, clean, punctual and as the Other crew super nice. I have to say I was sad to see both crew leave. You can see that Land design crew loves to work for this company and it translates to a beautiful work which translates to a very happy client. I tried calling this landscaping company around 9:30 AM after they’d been making loud noise since 8:30, just to ask when they expected to finish. The young boy that answered the phone Instead of showing any understanding or concern, was completely dismissive. It’s disappointing to see such a lack of respect for the neighborhood and for people’s peace and quiet early in the morning. A professional company should value courtesy and communication just as much as the work itself. In response to my call they started more chain saws and gas powered machines very unprofessional.

Our designer, Steve, was a dream to work with—a true professional with a passion for landscape design. He expertly guided us through the process of creating our perfect patio, deck, pool area, fire pit, and grill island. Steve is an excellent communicator, and we leaned into his expertise and instincts completely, which led to a stunning final result. We were recommended Land Design Associates when we decided we wanted to do some work on our property, who cautioned us that they weren’t cheap but did great work. I had contacted many other landscapers, who were all happy to do whatever I wanted — except that I didn’t know how to achieve what I wanted! We finally had the excellent sense to contact Land Design Associates two years ago after stumbling to find suitable plants on our own. Our yard is challenged with lack of sun. Jim Egan, the owner, came out right away. This guy has expert knowledge of plants. He's extremely kind and down to earth. He's honest and up front. There's never been any surprises with cost or any delays with service. All of his colleagues are polite and hard working. Our yard has been transformed. We have a beautiful walkway leading to our front door now. I am seeing new blooms and colors on our plants every single time I look out the window throughout the seasons. Some of the pink colors are so astounding I'm wondering whether I'm living in Hawaii rather than Massachusetts. No exaggeration. If you're looking to add curb appeal and would also enjoy the ability to take pride in your yard, look no further. This is the landscaping company to call.

We had the pleasure of working with Land Design on our backyard project. They were clear, direct and honest throughout the whole process and we are extremely happy with the end result. The Land Design team delivered a substantial hardscape and planting project at our Cape Cod home with speed and care. Jim Egan worked with us through the spring to iterate designs that would accomplish our goals. We were skeptical when they started building in mid-June that the project would be finished by July, in time for the bulk of the summer. But thanks to the dedicated work of the teams led by Bannos and Jorge, they delivered a beautiful back patio and a re-imagined front walkway by the beginning of the month. One week later, the plantings and landscaping were completed. In spite of the speed, the teams took great care to deliver a detailed and durable project that our family will enjoy for years.

Thanks to Jason and the LDA team, our backyard — which used to be a gravel pit — has been completely transformed. Over the past few weeks, our entire yard was taken down to soil, a beautiful stone patio and walkway were installed, and new sod was laid.
The whole process was enjoyable, from meeting with Jason to create the design plan, to watching the various teams (masonry, irrigation, sod) bring it to life, and finally experiencing the excitement of seeing the finished product. Jason was always available and very easy to communicate with throughout the project.
