Have had two 3 head mini split systems installed with Elephant. Great experience, competitive pricing, good communication.

We worked with Elephant Energy on several projects over the last year and highly recommend them. As part of our home electrification project, they installed a heat pump system, a split system for a room that was not on the house's main heating system and a heat pump hot water system. The communication with the Elephant staff (special shout out to Caroline Staudt and Adam Hoyng) was excellent throughout--clear and responsive. The prices were fair and the quality of products and installation were very good.

Elephant Energy (backed by ProHeat) installed a 6 head heat pump mini split in my house and they did a great job.

From the beginning, Elephant were great communicators explaining the different HVAC options putting together a price competitive quote. Installation was seamless, with the HVAC and electrical crews being high quality and industrious.

Post-install support was good too. There was a small problem with the install and after reporting it a crew was onsite within 48 hours where the problem was resolved.

Given the high quality of the workmanship, the excellent comms, the competitive pricing, and the post-install support, Elephant is one of the best contractors I've hired.

Our home is converted to Heat Pump. The installation was completed in time and professionally installed.

Although we *did not* ultimately go with Elephant Energy for our HVAC project, we had an excellent experience working with their rep. - Michelle - she was knowledgeable and patient in answering all our questions and giving us very competitive quotes, as well as discussing some options and technical stuff. The ONLY reason we did not go with Elephant is that we realized - through the process of speaking with Elephant and other vendors - that our house is not well set up to have a dedicated heat pump system, and upgrading electrical service to support the appropriately sized heat pumps would have put the project way out of our budget, given some local constraints. But we hope they continue to give good service to other residents in the greater Boston area whose homes may be better suited.

My husband and I had a mini split system installed in our home October of 2024. We have been so happy with the results. Our home is now properly zoned with no cold spots. Having municipal electric we have taken advantage of the energy savings all winter with our heat pump. We maintain a comfortable 70 degrees throughout our home even on the coldest of days this winter.

Caroline was our HCA. She worked with my husband through his many design requests. We had our proposal in hand the same day we reached out. Installation was quick and painless.

I would recommend everyone take advantage of Elephant Energy’s services. They have been nothing but professional, taken care of all rebate paperwork on our behalf( this is very time consuming and confusing if it were not for Elephant Energy), and very knowledgeable.

We would give 10 stars if we could!!!

The whole process to get our mini split system designed and installed was smooth and easy. We had problems right at the beginning (cooling) and when winter arrived (heating), but a technician was quickly sent to fix the issues (for free) and everything has been running nicely for months now. I would use their services again.

In full disclosure, I'm a former employee of Elephant Energy. Elephant installed my heat pump, which was our last step in fully electrifying our house! Our house has been really comfortable through both the hot summer days and the coldest days this winter, and I love that we're no longer burning gas. Special thank you to Joe who was our project manager through the installation. Almost more important than the install itself, I want to shout out Elephant for helping when we had a problem after I was no longer an employee. We had an issue with our system that resulted in no heat. I reached out to Elephant around 8am and a service tech was at my house by 10:30am that day. A few hours later, our system was back up and running. Thank you to Adam for getting the tech out so quickly and keeping me informed through the day.

We had Elephant Energy install a combination ducted and mini-split system in early 2025. The system had been operating well in both heat and AC mode until very recently. I reached out to the service group and found Josue (Colorado) to be attentive and helpful. Their service subcontractor showed up the next day and after extensive trouble shooting over a period of time determined an issue with the outdoor condenser unit. With additional assistance from Adam (Boston area) we have been back online and the system is running well. Thank You!

Avoid. They don't know what they are doing. It is just a rotating gallery of reps. But everything is outsourced to local HVAC companies.

Had a.mini split heat pump ac 3 heads installed last year notice system not cooling called a couple times at no results no call backs just called again today as it was 92 degrees yesterday hoping for response and get this fix update they came did a quick walk through mention it was in economic mode and that's why it wasn't cooling properly still not working correctly I'm calling again hoping they do a complete check freon levels leK test don't know but this needs to be fixed

Elephant is only interested in MassSave rebates and expensive, financed projects. We went through the process of getting financing a system only for them to tell us they couldn’t install the system we got the loan for. This was *a month* after the walk through. They specifically waited until we went through all the hoops before they would even pick up the phone to the subcontractor to see if the project could even be done.

They then expected us to start the entire process all over and install a completely different system - a full two months after we initially contacted them.

I want to specifically call out Adam, our project manager, who spent two weeks hassling us about weatherization even though our house doesn’t require it because it was built after 2000 - information that is both publicly available and had already been provided to him before. He is a terrible communicator and lacks organization.

Elephant is a completely unprofessional and unreliable company. We contacted them in January to install a heat pump. After inspecting our system, they claimed our air return was inadequate—despite the fact that it had functioned flawlessly for 22 years. They told us to add a new duct, which we did at our own expense and inconvenience, only for them to delay the project over unrelated paperwork. Then, after wasting two months, they turned around and said they couldn’t do the job because of the very modification they recommended.

Their lack of communication, accountability, and competence has made this a nightmare. Elephant is based in Colorado but subcontracts their work, meaning they have no real presence, no control over the process, and no ability to properly manage projects.

If you want a company that follows through, DO NOT waste your time with Elephant. They will mislead you, delay your project, waste your money, and leave you without a solution. Absolutely unacceptable business practices.
