I cannot recommend Catalano Construction enough. Paul Catalano is honest, affordable, and does outstanding work. We recently chose Catalano construction for our second story addition on our ranch home and we are so glad we did. They were efficient while still providing quality construction. Highly recommend!

This family run business is outstanding! The on-site crew is awesome! I cannot say enough great things about them, professional, responsive, great craftsmanship, and they have fun, really the best!

Great value and solid quality. They built the garage I wanted solidly, worked with me on design, and at a reasonable price.

I've had nothing but trouble with this company. I scheduled an appointment for a consultation via email. The meeting was delayed and I was told (via email) that he would get there when he gets there (maybe it was said in nicer words but the meaning is the same). I told him via email that we would have to reschedule. On my attempt at rescheduling (via email) I was told a date which worked for me. I later got a voice message saying they need more info and I can call or email that info. I emailed and never got a response. The date has come to pass and I never received any call or email saying he was delayed or couldn't make it. It was just a no show.

This is terrible communication. If this is how the company runs when I'm scheduling a consult, I can't imagine how it would go on a job.

I gave 1 stars because it was terrible communication and bad management but I've not seen any work from this company and can't judge the quality of work.

I will have to seek out a company with better communication skills before our project can get underway.

We are currently having a 2nd floor addition put on as well as first floor remodel. Paul (and team) have been so prompt and straightforward during the entire process. We are extremely impressed with everything and can’t wait to be back in our new home!

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Unless you want the job to be overpriced, done incorrectly and delayed. What was supposed to be a 4-6 month job has now been 18 months and never finished. Spent an entire winter with no heat. I was told they are not coming back. There would be weeks when nobody would show up for work. When they did work they left the job site a mess. The project as stands now looks nothing like the original plans.
Biggest mistake of my life.

Talented, dependable, hard-working group of skilled professionals. However, my choices of trim, doors, style and layout were ignored and there were several "extra" charges (wall paint was extra). Also, large piles (5 foot long) of solid cement were left in yard.

The woman who schedule the appointment was very nice and professional. She even called a week prior to confirm. Today was my consult, and the man that came for the consult called to say he was running early, which was great. He was very nice on the phone, but as soon as he came into the house it was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. He suddenly became aggressive, rude, and he even insulted us to our face Saying “you should get an architect in here because this is over your head “and he even made the “going over your head” gesture. He was extremely unhelpful in trying to explain why he couldn’t do the job I was asking, it’s as if he already decided that he couldn’t do the job as soon as he stepped in the house. My fiancé became so upset he had to leave the room. I waited almost 2 months for this consult, and this job is extremely important to our family, and he just shattered our hopes Of getting the job done. The two stars is for the woman that scheduled the consult.

I decided to look for reviews on this company since we have a project on mind. I didn’t find any on actual projects completed by Catalano’s but 2 reviews talking about the free design consultation:
Well, the scheduling lady was very professional and nice, she followed up a week before to make sure we were still interested which was great. The consultant was very professional , gave us suggestions, made great points, listened to us and answered our questions. We don’t have the estimates yet but nevertheless we got the free design consultation as advertised. We met with other 2 contractors and if Catalano’s price and specifications meet our budget we may consider them because the contractor seems to know what he is talking about just like the others; we were not disappointed with our meeting. This review is for the consultation only, if we hire them I’ll share my experience to help others but the free consultation is worth the time.

These people expect you to be here an hour before you scheduled appointment, to an hour after your scheduled appointment. They lady that the emails went back and forth with was nice, and also said in the email my husband was at work. We asked to be called 20 minutes before the company was able to come to the house. He told my husband he would be here at 315, and the company was here at 310. He was just a few minutes down the road and said they wouldn’t wait. We will be using a different company as Paul has been unprofessional all day with the back and forth conversation with my husband over the phone.

We are working with Paul and his company on a second floor addition. From building plans, to permitting, to construction, it’s been a positive experience. The quality of the work and professionalism of the crew has been great!

Very responsive and hard working people. They always want to make sure we are satisfied and happy. Every time we had a concern it was very professionally and promptly handled. We did an addition in the middle of the winter and they always wanted to make sure we felt conformable and covered their working area. Great attention to detail that exceeded our expectations. Also, very reasonably priced. We did extensive research before we started this project and he offered us the best quote. We would highly recommend to anyone thinking about doing a renovation and addition to their house.

We are currently in the middle of construction and I cant say enough about this company. We are adding a second floor to our split level house and although progress is slow due to covid and material back order. The owner is great to work with, always a phone call away, and willing to work with us for whatever we need.... THE CREW is amazing. They are so clean! After each visit its like they were never there. If you are considering this company I would highly recommend it. I will post a follow up comment w/ pictures once the house is officially done. Thank you Catalano we cant wait to bring our new daughter home to this.

Paul did my original remodel back in 2007. In 2020 I needed to expand my garage (I am tired of shoveling my car out of the snow!) and I called him back to work with him a second time.

Responds well, easy to work with, and very professional. Punctual to appointments. His engineering plans are well thought out and do not have any back and forth issues with the building commission for permits.

We used Catalano Construction for a large addition (essentially doubled the size) of our home in Reading. From our first meeting with Paul to completion on the project, we were, and remain pleased with the work done. Paul’s crew was punctual, neat, and easy to work with. We had the logistical issue of needing to come and go through the unfinished addition for quite awhile and his crew was very conscientious of this and made sure things were always safe including for our small pets. Paul and I have stayed in touch. He stands by his work and has been helpful with smaller “post-addition” projects that have arisen.

I wouldn’t hesitate at all in hiring Catalano Construction for your project.

Paul is a gem and his team is top notch: they are respectful, kind, hardworking, communicative and unbelievably efficient. We are nearing completion of a second story addition of a cape style home and I am so happy to have found Paul and Catalano Construction. We're a family with 3 small children and a dog remaining in our home during construction! The folks from Catalano are hyper aware of making sure we're comfortable and happy throughout this process. Get on this guy's schedule - you'll be grateful!

Catalano Construction built a 4 bed,1 bath on top of our existing home. Great crew. Respectful, punctual and always professional. The finishes are really beautiful, far better than I had envisioned. Paul, the owner, is a great guy, always willing to meet our requests. We are super happy! They are currently finishing our kitchen remodel which is nothing short of stunning. We could not be happier!
