Constraction reviews in Weston, Massachusetts

Vision Painting just finished painting my house today and my wife and I are totally blown away. Fantastic job! Fernando and his crew are rockstars! I highly recommend. Very professional!
Bonus - These guys also do carpentry. I would not hesitate to contact for carpentry related project. -
Worst contractor I've hired. Two words to describe my experience of their work: sloppy and sneaky; one sentence to elaborate it: watch to make sure they do the work! They’ll find any possible way to avoid doing the job properly.
You'll see their quote being pricer than other contractors, and they attached five star review sheets from Angie's list. Don't trust those reviews, and their price does not meet quality. Don't trust what's included in the contract, because they don't read it or follow it.
We hired them recently for our exterior painting and carpentry. Here's a comparison of what they did, compared to what was on the contract:
"Two coats primer before all painting"
-A majority of shingles were primed, but they skipped priming the front porch, the stairs, the railings, or around the windows.
“four doors”
-Painted three?? Even after we pointed this out that there were four doors, they still managed to skip one.
"clean the site every day before leaving"
-Not including the ladders and paint buckets they stored there, there were used plastic bottles, paint chips all over the place, used nails in the driveway and in my lawn.
Make sure to check their work before paying them. They took many shortcuts that we only noticed after they left, and after we paid them. We felt like we had to constantly be supervising them, otherwise they would not complete the work correctly. They never completed the items listed on our contract, and have ignored our emails/calls. Completely unprofessional. -
Very responsive to needs. Were very efficient and hard working getting the exterior paint job done to a high quality. The price was very competitive and reasonable. Everything was made clear from initial quote to the wrap up of the job. Would highly recommend Vision Painting Co.

Vision painting replaced all the siding on one side of my house that had been damaged by water.
Once the siding was removed, the extensive damage became obvious -- water had destroyed the plywood backing behind the siding and the supports and facing boards for two windows were beyond repair -- the windows were nearly falling out.
The Vision Painting carpentry team did a great job repairing all the wood problems. We discussed the problems, why the water damage occurred, and how to prevent it from happening again. I couldn't be more happy with the result. The team communicated well through out the project and we inspected the work as it was completed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Vision Painting team for siding and painting work. -
Vision is FANTASTIC. Here’s the story:
My husband and I had several estimates prepared for deck staining and house painting. We had pretty much decided to hold off on the house for a year and go with the deck job when the last estimator, with Vision Painting, showed up to take a look at the job. I’m not sure exactly what it was about the estimate but it was somehow different in terms of what they said and how closely they examined my house. After the estimator left, I ended up phoning the owner, to get more info on the job. After explaining my concerns at great length, during which time he allowed me to speak completely uninterrupted, he patiently explained options and assured me that we would be happy with their work. This was a big project and he said up front that he would not take a dime from us until we were satisfied, meaning he buys supplies and does all the work before being paid. Unheard of these days. I had already read several great reviews and so we just decided to go with it.
A few days later, as planned, Daniel came out to introduce himself and start working. Literally every single thing the owner said, and every single thing Daniel said, they actually did. ALWAYS on time, ALWAYS polite and respectful. Finished exactly as expected. Along the way offered tips and ideas. They even ended up putting a new sliding glass door in (SUPERB CARPENTER) which we were going to do on the side. They picked it up at Lowe’s for me and put it in one morning and I LOVE IT.
The proof is in the pudding, as they say. My house looks FABULOUS. The paint colors are dead on perfect. The trim work is detailed and looks outstanding. The deck...I’m in love with it.
I cannot say enough good things about this company!! We paid a little more than we could have but, honestly, the level of detail paired with the courteous dealings and honesty was more than worth it. They are standing behind this job, and I have the paperwork to prove it.
You won’t be sorry when you go with these guys. -
Vision did interior painting for several rooms for us including prep, priming, trim and woodwork, and ceilings, including 2 story atrium foyer. Very professional and neat job, showed up on time and completed the work on schedule. Junior, the lead, was very responsive and answered questions and addressed items we found as the work progressed, patiently and professionally. Have been using them for 13 years, working with Marcos for estimates and proposals, for all of our painting, interior and exterior, and carpentry, and highly recommend them.

They do NOT stand by their work AT ALL. Had my house painted by Vision. A little over 2 years later and our paint is peeling terribly on one side of the house. Looks really bad and embarrassing. Reached out to them and they stated there was nothing they would do considering the 2 year warranty had passed (Just passed by a month). A good company would come back and fix the problem area considering we paid several thousand dollars. Therefore, this is not a good company. I think most people would expect their paint job to last longer than 2.1 years. In this case YOU DO NOT get what you pay for. I would shop elsewhere and avoid this company at all costs. When I have my house repainted this spring ill certainly be looking elsewhere to spend my money.

I would call my experience with this company average. The cost for staining a deck was way too high. It was only
One coat and the guy didn’t even bring an extension cord for his tools, had to use mine. Maybe I could’ve done better about asking questions but I thought there were going to be some deeper repairs done to some of the deck and nothing was done just staining.almost $1500 for a 16x10 one coat. I’ll be doing myself next year. They missed two boards too which looked awful so I did myself. They did offer to come back but I didn’t want to risk being charged extra labor. I wouldn’t use them again just simply for price. They were polite which is why I’m giving 3. -
Working with Vision Painting was a pleasure. My wife and I love the paint job. We had the entire exterior of the house painted and a fair amount of carpentry was involved during the prep work replacing old trim pieces, clapboard, and shake shingles. The carpentry was done expertly, the prep job was thorough, and the paint job is excellent. Each day the crew cleaned up so around the house was always neat. Thank you!

The exterior sill on a large sun room window had rotted out and allowed water to get behind the clapboard siding and destroy much of the particle board and frame work beneath it. I called several contractors requesting repair service two didn't bother to return my call and a third came out and inspected and I never heard from them again. Finally contacted Vision Painting and an inspector came out that very same day. I received a quote soon after and the work started less than a week later. The owner Marcos kept me informed the whole time. The work was more expensive than I had planned but given the circumstance It was well worth it. The rotted sill, particle board, frame work, several trim pieces and clapboard were all replaced in a single day. The work was completed professionally and I was very happy with the results. I would absolutely recommend Marcos and his team at Vision Painting.

The Vision Painting team did fantastic work on our house. I thought it was going to take a least a week or two to complete the exterior paint job we requested but they were able to do it in 3 days with outstanding quality and professional ability.
I'd recommend them to anyone looking for any kind of paint job! -
Vision Painting did an amazing job on my house and deck. The price was very reasonable and the quality of workmanship was outstanding. Marcos was a great communicator and easy to get a hold of. John and his crew moved quickly, quietly and left everything beautifully painted and clean. I would recommend this company to anyone. Joan Dole

Second time we called on Vision Painting to complete interior painting of our home. Most importantly they followed through on all aspects of the job. They were there prompt, friendly, respectful of our home and extremely neat workers. Completed the job on time, interior of our home looks beautiful. I'd highly recommend Vision Painting.

I recently had the exterior of my house painted by Vision Painting. I highly recommend this Company. My house needed a lot of prep work as it is over 60 years old and the end results were great!, I can honestly say that this Company goes above and beyond to satisfy the customer. They are true and honest people, which is very hard to find in today’s world. I was so impressed with the owner Marcos and his son and other workers. You will not be disappointed with this Company. True businessmen and my hats off to them for how they conduct business.

I would highly recommend Vision Painting. They did a great job painting our kitchen cabinets and refinishing our deck. They are prompt, professional, and easy to work with.

“Our house looks incredible thanks to Vision Painting! The crew was on time, professional, and left everything spotless. We get compliments from neighbors every day!”

Vision Painting did an excellent job plastering over our textured ceilings. They were on time, efficient, friendly, and meticulous about cleaning up at the end of each day. The job was completed faster than other companies' projections, at a very reasonable price, and with great attention to detail. Communication from the company was clear from beginning to end, and they even initiated a final walk-through at the end to make sure we were happy with the end result. (We were!)

From the beginning I had a wonderful experience with Vision painting. Marcos and his team are great to work with. We had the exterior of our wood shingle house power washed, carpentry work to replace rotten wood elements, and a full exterior paint done. Ricardo and his team were on time every morning, always left the yard and their equipment tidy at the end of the day, and did a wonderful job painting the house. We are absolutely thrilled with the final result, and would definitely use this company again for our painting needs!

I can echo previous reviews. I hired them from past use years ago, and expected quality job for the price I agreed to. They should not be in the business. First the price was on the higher side. Agreed to it as I thought I would get what I pay for especially considering previous relationship.
They do not have crews of their own anymore, although told otherwise, but rather hire subs and mark up the price 100%. So he hires the cheapest painters available. They also sub out the estimating. A man comes by, meets with you and sizes up the job. He provides a detailed list to Vision Painting (Marcos and his son Marcelo) who then puts a price on it. So another layer of markups your paying for.
On top of that, the estimator did not include items we talked about and left off of his list to the contractor Marcos (Vision Painting). So when after signing a contract and they started with rot repairs, suddenly some items were not included. I did not get a copy of the estimators check list up front so that I could cross reference at the time of contract signing, but I trusted them based on the past. In the end, I had to pay extra for the additional trim repairs.
Regarding the quality of the paint job, no back brushing was done, nor back rolling. Overspray everywhere after the first coat. Threatened Marcos, to get another painting crew. Met with the son of Marcos, Marcelo, and the original painting crew. Expressed my concerns, told them to respect my property, clean and protect, promised to do better, so a hand shake and I allowed them to continue.
Only got worse. Paint on my brick patio, lighting, never removed things from the house and got painting all over, i.e., Wall mounted bird feeders, lighting, hoses, patio furniture, shrubbery, foundation, etc.
They got the final coat done in 3 hours?!?! Impossible! I have a 3000SF colonial. They called me at work to tell me the crew was done at 11 AM. and Marcos's son wanted to meet me there this afternoon to review and get a final check. I told them how could they get the final coat done from 9-11? Impossible so do it again.
Met them and Marcos's son at home that afternoon, asked how they could spray and back brush the entire house in that amount of time. Reminded them of our previous conversation, "I would trust them with a second chance. I will respect you if you respect me and my property." The second coat was done with less protection than the first. More overspray, broke bird feeder.
So they did a third coat of paint. Answer to overspray on chimney, patio, etc. was to sand and grind bricks. They even sanded my brass hose reel.
1.5 months later, I had bubbling paint spots which tells you they sprayed without brushing it in to get good adhesion. They said they would come back in the following spring to fix. Tried to call and text. No response. It is now fall, work was done a year ago. Threatened to post this on Google Review and Yelp, Finally got Marcelo to come by and I was told they would be back LAST week. Enough.
So in the end, I did overpay. I got what I paid for in that I may have paid $8000 for a paint job expecting a better quality job for the price, but with a 100% markup for a subcontractor getting $4000, I did get a $4000 paint job that will not last past warranty. -
We had Vision Painting paint the exterior of our house and they did a beautiful job. They contacted me the very same day I reached out to them and I had a very reasonable estimate the next day. They accommodated us with our preferred time frame. The painters were very respectful of our property and left everything clean and neat. They did a beautiful job and I love how our house looks. I would absolutely hire them again.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this company
Summary of my 6 week headache:
-Painted over oil with acrylic paint which immediately scratched off. They insisted it just had to dry more. Took weeks of back and forth for them to come look at it and then they started sanding the acrylic paint off after I had stated concerns over previous layers being lead. I had to spend the additional time and money to have it tested for lead
-After negative lead tests they came back to sand it. Didn't cover any of my furniture and didn't sand a lot of the surfaces. After they finished sanding I continued sanding some surfaces myself as it still had acrylic paint that you could scratch off but there are additional surfaces that did not get sanded and are going to peel in the future. Had to thoroughly clean everything myself as it was left a huge mess (dust everywhere, sanded paint dust stuck to the walls). They didn't wash work work down prior to repainting either so dust was painted over.
-Quality of repaint was not what I would expect for the overall price of the project. I had to touch up numerous spots that were missed. There is paint where there shouldn't be paint. There are paint spots on the floor and on the furniture.
Photos of finished job including: not painting around door hardware, areas that were sanded that shouldn't have been and were just left without fixing and photos of the paint job after sanding (gray paint should have all been sanded off)
