Electrical reviews in Southfield, Michigan
-
Hired them to install EV chargers at our building from the recommendation of the charger supplier along with some equipment power hookups. Several times we outlined information in detail via email for documentation. Responses were casual but confirming and then when it came to the actual installation they refused to do what was discussed as the scope. Absolute mess of communication, project management, and customer service. Overpriced for simple equipment connections. NEVER HIRE.

***DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY****. THEY ARE A SCAM.

Mr. Bob the Electrician came on time and he fixed everything single thing I needed fixed in my new home. I'm gonna tell everyone I know about his work. Such a nice guy too.
-
Worked with Bob through my Home Warranty. Bob was professional and friendly. Fixed my electrical and everything is working right again. Great experience!

Call the company several times. Left name brief message to explain electric problems. No one never answer the phone or return your call. The company is just an answering machine. This company is bad for business because no one is readily available if ever an emergency arises. Would not recommend anyone to call this company for service. Can't understand why the BBB would give this company such a good rating. BAD FOR BUSINESS TO BE IN SOUTHFIELD AREA. Low rating-0.

I had one of their electricians out to fix my kitchen outlets as none of them were working correctly. I cannot remember his name now but he was extremely pleasant and explained everything to me after I asked. I recommended him to my in-laws and they were also very pleased with his work.

Consider yourself warned, do not do business with this company. They were recommended through my home warranty program. Over the course of 3 visits I REPEATEDLY requested a receipt for the work preformed. The electrician, "Bob" insisted "we don't do that. I asked "them" and they said we don't do that." I said what company doesn't provide a complete work order when they've completed a job? He insist "we only work with the warranty company you must get it from them." To which he always seemed to be "late for another job" when I asked questions. I told him the warranty company says it's for you to provide the order of work completed. I left messages for the office to call, no return call and no full work order receipt. This guy provided a receipt that stated "for deductible" WHAT A JOKE. WHAT WORK WAS COMPLETED IN MY HOME? (I know the answer, but don't have any documentation to back up what they did.) WHAT COMPANY DOESN'T PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION OF WORK PREFORMED? Save yourself the hassle find another company.

Bob came by and fixed my outdoor ceiling fan issue PROMPTLY and efficiently. The company was very responsive with a super fast turnaround. Got me back up and running just before the warm weather hits. Thank you!

They installed a new breaker box and reworked our 100+ yr old home. Great group of electricians! They did excellent work.

Affordable Code Electric’s Bob came out on short notice and corrected a problem with circuit breakers and a GFCI. We discussed upgrades to the wiring in the basement, too. Bob will work up a proposal for the desired work, I look forward to working with him again!

I filed a claim with my home warranty company about a broken attic fan. They directed my claim to Affordable Code Electric. I scheduled the appointment with them for a two hour window. No electrician showed up during that window, and no call. Showed up 30 minutes past the window time frame. The electrician was in my house less than 5 minutes total. All he did was get the model number and said “the warranty company will have to replace it, I will work with them.” Never attempted to even diagnose or repair the problem. Paid my deductible (which I shouldn’t have). A week goes by and I have to call twice just trying to get an update without receiving any update. Then my home warranty company calls and tells me my claim is denied. So now I am out $100, and still have a broken attic fan. This company is a scam, stay away.

Used this company through my home warranty and I couldn't have been more pleased. Bob was on time, professional, fixed two outlets in one room and replaced a broken ceiling fan with a beautiful new one within a day. Will definitely use this company again for any future electrical needs.

Worked with Bob through my home warranty to get a bunch of switches and dimmers fixed as this is our first year in this older home. He was fantastic to work with, super friendly and helpful and completed everything needed. He even worked with the home warranty to make sure something specific was covered for me. I'm not sure about these other reviews which are from years ago but I had a fantastic experience and will be using Bob and Affordable Code Electric again when needed!
