Reviews of local pros in Delano, Minnesota

We have had Kolar come do several projects for us, from a small partial bathroom job (replaced tub and drywall around the tub) to a full downstairs bathroom remodel to a downstairs family room remodel. The price has always been good and the work is great. Their quotes are easy to read and Jake is a text (or call) away to answer questions or get updates on things. They are always on my list to get an estimate from when doing a project. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

Awesome job on our kitchen remodel. Very accommodating to our revolving request. I highly recommend Kohler construction.

Strongly advise looking elsewhere if you want quality work done. Manufacturer installation specifications were an afterthought for Kolar Construction. Hired Kolar to install Azek decking and Westbury railing for our deck. Surface mount deck posts were installed without the proper stainless steel shims (provided with the posts). Deck posts were also originally installed with the wrong lag bolts. When the lag bolt issue was brought up, Jake Kolar (owner) replied "Been using 3" for 5 years". (see picture for lag bolt reference) Railing sections over 6 feet long did not have the proper center support installed. (support was supplied with the railing) 25 deck boards were cut too short to properly land on the existing structure. Jake blamed the structure as the reason he cut the boards short in order to center everything. However, after Jake's "fix" the parting board is still not centered and the deck boards on either side are different lengths.

The team at Kolar recently completed our master bathroom renovation and did an amazing job for a very fair price. The crew was polite, hard-working and efficient when they were onsite. The final product is exactly what we hoped for. We will definite reach out to Kolar again for renovation work.

Jake Kolar and his team were easy to work with and very accomodating. Through out my bathroom project, the entire team was conciensious and productive.

Highly recommend Kolar Construction. I’ve worked with Kolar twice now and will definitely call him for other projects. Jake is responsive and friendly, does a great job explaining the project, options, and giving a clear quote. I have had an under decking soffit system installed, a deck footing replaced, and part of my patio pavers reset. The team that does the work is friendly as well and does a great job. Everything gets done when promised. I have been happy with the final product and work quality on both projects.

Quality of work was top-notch. Communication was great, pricing competitive and the crew was respectful of time and place. Flooring installation went quickly, drywall work is unnoticeable (that’s a good thing), electrical and plumbing met all my needs and kitchen cabinets look spectacular. I couldn’t be happier and I know you will be too. I highly recommend them. Thanks, Jake and your crew.

Jake and his awesome team built an amazing barn slide for our orchard (Fall Harvest Orchard). Our customers rave about how nice it looks and how fun and fast the new slide is! It turned out even better than we imagined. Thanks again!

We used Kolar Construction for our deck and patio. We are very pleased with the workmanship. They were prompt, friendly and cleaned up upon leaving. I would recommend Kolar Construction for any of your construction needs.

Kolar construction finished our basement and did a great job. Jake sent out a team to install this shower door. They were on time, done quickly and the results speak for themselves!

Thanks, Jake and team.

I wouldn’t recommend them for any bathroom work. Beware…..If you’re looking to do tile work call a different company!!! This company is only concerned with booking the next job than doing quality work and be prepared to have another job booked in the middle of yours then you have to sit and wait to get your started work completed when that job is done. Then they rush to complete your work. They say the work is within the guidelines of tile work, which is funny because a we could have googled how to do tile and would have done 10 times better. If you’re looking to throw away your money, then they are your company. If your looking for quality work and contractor that cares, find someone else!!!

Stay far away from Jake from Kolar Construction! He and his crew took 2 months from start to finish to complete a 12’x12’ deck resurface and still never finished. He didn’t clean up his metal shavings and said it was glitter that can be blown off (see photos) from the cable railings, left various areas incomplete and with large gaps and bad workmanship, and framed steps in a way that water couldn’t escape through gaps. When I asked to fix the issues he said that it passed inspection and it was finished. How do you treat people like that when they’re paying you to do a quality job for them. I would never hire or recommend them to anyone! Buyers beware!!!

Jake and Kolar construction installed our deck. It was a great experience from start to finish. Jake is very friendly, a great communicator, and the work was done timely and with great quality. We will definitely work with Kolar construction again for our future home improvement projects!

Kolar Construction just refaced our deck and I can’t recommend them enough! The work was done right and looks beautiful! I also can’t believe how fast they got it done. Each night they neatly packed up all the equipment and materials in my yard so it didn’t look like a big mess! The guys Jake has on his crew are as nice and professional as he is! I will definitely be recommending him to any and everyone as well as using them again for more projects around the house!

Jake Kolar and his team did a master bath remodeling and kitchen counter and tile backsplash in our kitchen. The men who work for Jake are respective, ON TIME, clean up after each work day and do a very professional job. I highly recommend them.

Everything about business with Kolar Construction, from the communication, design, material procurement, scheduling, and construction completion, was handled incredibly well. Everyone on that team cares about their work and does a fantastic job. We will be using their services again without hesitation.

We keep coming back to Jake and Kolar Construction for our home improvement projects! They have finished our basement, added on to our garage, and just completed some built ins for our mud room, garage and laundry room. Their work is amazing, timely, and they easily adjust to customer needs! Thanks Kolar Construction!

I had water seeping in my basement from an addition to a neighbors new roof. I called Kolar construction and Jake came out the next day. He sent me my bid within a couple of days and started work the following week.
The workers arrived promptly in the morning. They worked quickly and are very courteous.
They revised the landscaping, added class 5, then black dirt, grass seed, and replanted plants that they had removed prior. Communication was top notch. As this is newly landscaped, it’s rained only once. I investigated and the basements dry!

Jake and team were professional, responsive and did quality work on our basement. We will use them again for a deck and continued house improvements. Honest, hard workers at a fair price - great team!

We worked with Jake and the team at Kolar Construction to renovate our kitchen and main living area. The results were stunning and transformed our home completely. Everyone that was involved in the project was highly engaged, punctual, respectful, and detail oriented.

Kolar Construction came out and replaced our two decks and put up a fence for me.

I really appreciate the work the crew did at our place! Everything looks Fantastic and we are EXTREMELY happy with it!
I knew the fence wasn’t something they typically do. However, WOW! They did an amazing job! It really looks nice!!
The crew did a great job of communicating with me on the deck and fence, which I feel makes them a top notch crew! They cared about what I thought and asked, VERY IMPRESSIVE!
Lastly, I really appreciated how they cleaned up after the job!
I'd 100% recommend Kolar Construction as they care about the customer!
