Constraction reviews in Forest Lake, Minnesota

I was surprised to see the 1 star reviews. Mike recently came out to fix a pipe that was leaking in our ceiling. He was on time, professional, and very personable. He did a fantastic job and was in and out in less than an hour. I'm very pleased with his service.

Devine’s was assigned to give a second opinion on a home warranty issue. He called within 24 hrs of receive the request from our warranty company. I asked if it was possible to come out after 3 due to the difficulty of taking time off work. We had just come off of quarantine and missed over a week of work due to that. He said that he “didn’t want to start a project that late”. I reluctantly agreed and took the day off. He showed up on time and spent 5 minutes in my house and said “hopefully we will have an answer within 24 hours”. He knew he wasn’t going to start a project. He then did not submit his recommendation to the company until they called him 2 times asking for the paperwork. He finally did 48 hours later. In the meantime we could have had someone scheduled to fix it sooner. He is no longer welcome in my home. Oh and my home warranty conveniently denied my claim request.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Avoid this guy at all costs - he is incompetent and lazy and you will regret it. If AHS tries to send him to you, make them give you a different company. This guy didn't even check out the problem and it took weeks of complaining to AHS to have them send someone else out. He literally just looked at the outside of the tank for 2 seconds and said "it's clean and dust free so it's fine." Yeah, except the gas leak and obvious other problems.

Yesterday afternoon our water stopped working. I called the city and they sent someone out. The problem was with our water meter. The meter was replaced but then a valve broke and due to the location of our water heater, it couldn't be repaired. We were told we'd need to contact a plumber to disconnect the water heater, replace the valve, and reconnect the water heater. In the meantime, we had absolutely no water. I called Mike late in the afternoon and explained the situation. He said he had a couple of people on his schedule for this morning but that he would work on shifting them around so that he could be here first thing, and that is exactly what he did. Mike was friendly and professional and got the job done quickly. Hopefully, this is the last plumbing problem we ever have (optimism!), but if not, I won't hesitate to contact DeVine Plumbing Service. Thank you, Mike - we are very grateful!

We had a leak in our basement and had these guys come over to check it out. After investigating and walking all over the house trying to determine where the leak was we decided it made the most sense to hold off on breaking into walls to look at pipes and for us to be a little more conscious about water on the floor in bathrooms because based on the symptoms it didn't seem like an actual pipe leak. It was the right call because I later realized the leak had come from my kid dumping our cat's water bowl out And it made perfect sense with everything we had talked about while investigating where the water should be coming from to create the leak. We also had a toilet that wasn't flushing and he snaked that thing and fixed it. So overall it was a fine interaction. I'm sorry other people seem to have had bad ones but things were good here.

if I could take away stars I would. My HSA dispatched this plumber to look at my water heater as it had leaked and destroyed part of my basement flooring. Plumber arrived and I told him what happened and that I just tightened the nut on my release valve to stop the leak. All he did was drain ~ 1ga of water to confirm no sediment build up. Aside from that the plumber did nothing except look at the exterior. I didn't even get paperwork since nothing was done. I would have expected perhaps more tests or something but low and behold 5 weeks later it happens again except worse and destroys my entire basement.
Now he won't return my call. -
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. If you get assigned this company through your home warranty, do whatever you can to get re-assigned. Through AHS I was unlucky enough to be forced to interact with this company. Mike showed up quickly enough, verified the problem existed, and then left. And then I never heard back. Weeks passed and absolutely nothing happened. Finally after a week of daily calls (and hours wasted) to Mike/AHS I was able to get the issue re-assigned. Through this process Mike constantly lied to AHS about how he was talking to me/getting ready to do the work, which was blatantly false. After getting the work re-assigned, the next company came out the next day and fixed the issue in 20 minutes. Absolutely terrible experience all around.

I'd give ZERO stars if I could. Our home warranty program assigned us to DeVines Plumbing to resolve our slow flushing toilet issue. Nothing major. The request for service was June 27th and as of July 7th, still unable to schedule an appointment. Calling for an appointment goes to voice mail; our call was returned ONCE. I left a message stating we had company for the holiday, needed this toilet fixed. On the ONE returned call we received, instead of leaving a message with a date/time for an appointment, it was simply that my call was returned. Called back, went to voice mail. There was NO customer service. The Holiday came/went without repair. Home Warranty left him a voice mail and an email, we still received no call back. If you are looking for frustration and a waste of time, DeVines Plumbing would be the place to go.

I bought a house a year and a half ago, which came with an AHS warranty. There was a leak from my upstairs shower causing kitchen ceiling below to have brown spots. AHS scheduled the appointment with DeVine's Plumbing Service. He said the issue was with my shower enclosure, not the plumbing, without any proof. It took me a long time of investigating, but the issue was with the drain seal gasket which could clearly be seen from above. It was dried up and had major cracks in it. You would think a plumber would know to look at the drain seal gasket, but he apparently didn't. Even though the warranty was part of the purchase agreement, I still had to pay $125 for the service request. I got nothing from it but wasted time. As the other reviews state, it does appear that his goal is to minimize cost for AHS, not solve plumbing issues.
