The Wal-Mart of DIY. Sometimes I find what I need, they're helpful considering how little they get paid. I'd rather have a corner store to go to, or a main street.

Plants are of very low quality, poor selection, full of pests. Gardening supplies are are hit or miss with whether they carry them. Seem to be missing things that other stores have. I'd rather drive to another location/store, even though this is less than a mile from me.

I've mourned Rice Creek Gardens for years. Now, I've been at the Gardens of Rice Creek a few times now. It's absolutely stunning! Thr plants available for sale are 'not your everyday big box plant'. Questions are answered, plants are recommended, and I leave with a smile on my face, and the start of a list for my next visit.

I was recommended to go here to find a specific type of lavender called Cynthia Johnson that was bred in Maple Grove. I've been looking for it for a few years and finally found it at the source. I met the owner of the gardens who actually named the variety. She was very friendly and helpful and her home was beautiful. I recommend coming to tour her multi-level outdoor garden setup and buying some native and hard to find perreniels for your garden. The garden center is located near the corner of 66th Avenue and Old Central in Fridley and is a suburban home.
