Our garage is finally dry! We have had water issues in our garage since we moved in and it’s stayed dry since the Axel team regraded and added a retaining wall. Crysten was so professional and so quick to respond to all communications.

We recently hired Axel Landscape in Hopkins to construct two retaining walls in a very tight space, ensuring everything aligned with our home builder’s specifications and the plans approved by the City of Edina. From the start, it was clear their team had the knowledge and experience needed—not just in building retaining walls, but in handling the complexities of proper drainage and meeting city regulations.

Their pricing was competitive with other estimates we received, but what really set them apart was the exceptional level of detail, communication, and professionalism throughout the entire process. Every step felt well-planned and carefully executed, and the crew worked efficiently without ever cutting corners.

We had such a great experience with Axel Landscape this summer as we completely redid our backyard. They took our overgrown nothing space and created an amazing patio and garden oasis. Axel Landscape did a fantastic job with our landscaping. We called them for help after doing emergency repairs to our mainline sewer which had resulted in the destruction of our previous pathway to the front door.

Back in the fall of 2019, we worked with Axel Landscape to replace our platform deck with a patio. We had a wonderful experience then so when it came time for more updates to our backyard, we went back to Axel for another great outcome. We added two new patios - one for an upcoming hot tub and one for a firepit - along with gorgeous landscaping around the firepit. Unfortunately, the pavers we used for the initial patio were no longer available. Jodi was able to identify similar pavers so everything remains cohesive. She also recommended the stones for the firepit and the edging. The crew did an amazing job laying everything down so meticulously. You can tell they do this often and know how to do it right. We had them update the edging on all existing landscaping and it looks superb! I worked with Jodi on both projects and cannot recommend her enough. She was responsive, collaborative, and really listened to what we wanted in our project. Chris was wonderful on-site - helping us make some minor adjustments during the work. The crew, as mentioned before, was wonderful. They were very patient as we tried to decide where to put each boulder. Respectful of our property. We would hands down hire them again for any future landscaping projects.

We used Axel Landscaping for a front and back patio, as well as other features, over several summers and the experience was amazing. Jodi helped design and pick out materials for our space, and is incredibly thorough and thoughtful, educating us along the way and making sure there were no surprises. Chris and his team are true craftsman - watching them work, it was clear that they were taking the time to do things correctly. They also made sure to explain and get approval for any adjustments that needed to be made to the initial design before doing the work. We are thrilled with how everything turned out, and get many compliments from neighbors and visitors. I recommended them to anyone!

We had a tree removed. They went above and beyond. Great company to work with.

The crew did an awesome job. Friendly crew. Being careful not to run over the flower beds. Being extra careful not to take out other trees when cutting down the diseased tree. Cleaned up after the job was done. Would hire them again

I've been using Shadywood for more than 20 years. At this point I don't even bother to get other bids. Their work goes above and beyond.

I requested a quote from Shadywood Tree Experts on 9/28 and received an email to schedule my quote. I sent back my available times and never heard anything back. I followed up on 10/5 and was told Jake would be out on 10/11 between 8:30am - 9:30am. On 10/11, no one showed up. I called Shadywood at 9:30am to ask if someone would be out, they told me they would follow up with Jake and someone would call me back. By 10:30am I had not received a call. I called again and was told that a message had been sent to someone and I should hear back soon. It's now almost 11:30am, and I haven't heard anything. I stayed home from work to meet with them only to have my time wasted. I do not recommend and will be trying a different service instead.

Highly recommend this company! They trimmed trees on our block, cleaned up right away AND went out of their way to clear the snow off the sidewalk & walkway up to our house. I'm pregnant and my husband hasn't been able to shovel the front of our house yet, so the fact they cleared the snow meant a lot to us! Thank you Shadywood Tree Experts!

Did a very through job of pruning and took care of a large part of tree that went down from the last storm then even asked me if there was anything else I wanted cut or trimmed . They even left me with a spotless yard .

Had Steve out to do a walk-around of our property and give an assessment on tree work. He did a great job of explaining not only what he thought we needed done, but why we should do those things.

In the end, we hired Shadywood to prune a few trees and remove a 60-year-old silver maple with significant hollows that was in danger of falling on our house. Their quote was not the lowest, but it was reasonable and they did come down a bit when presented with the competing quote.

There was a bit of delay while waiting for Xcel to come do their safety trim, but once that was done Shadywood was quick to come and do their work. They left the property in reasonable shape and were very communicative about scheduling the work. Ultimately we were very happy with Shadywood and will be going back to them the next time we need tree work done.
