Ziemer Heating & Cooling installed a high efficiency furnace as a replacement of a 35-year-old unit. They did a remarkable job and the price was incredibly reasonable considering the scope and expertise brought by John and team. Ziemer Heating & Cooling will be our go to for any future HVAC needs.

My wife and I moved to Red Wing in 2021. We purchased a home that had a newer furnace that was installed by John with Ziemer Heating and Cooling. I have reached out to john twice since we have owned our home. The first time was to look at out AC unit to make sure it was running right. He made sure everything was operating properly, cleaned it and also gave me some maintenance tips! The second time we contacted him was for a furnace tuneup. He was able to get it done within a few days! He double checked everything and cleaned up the burners. Overall, we are really happy with our experiences with Ziemer Heating and Cooling. He is very prompt, polite and knowledgeable. We don't plan on going through anyone else!!!

I would not consider using this business for my HVAC needs. Devoid of character and lacking in good judgement.

Worst company ever! The totally ripped us off. Don't even think of hiring them unless you want to give your money away and be left with a non working account unit.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good experience and never got our issue fixed with him. We had a furnace leaking gas so our warranty company called him out to look at it. He accepted the job. He came within a couple days and said he needed to order parts. We paid him our deposit money at that point. That’s where it started going bad. He gave the warranty company wrong part numbers and when they tried contacting him to resolve, he would take days to respond. They finally sorted out the correct parts to order (which took 2 weeks!). So, we called him once the parts arrived so he could come back and install the parts. Another 2 weeks of being “ghosted” with no communication from him. We called him every couple days and only got him 1 time on the phone. He said he didn’t want to make the drive to Lake City (a 20 minute drive) and would let us know when he would want to come out. He never called us back. The warranty company tried reaching out to him as well several times but he never responded. We went 4 weeks in the dead of winter without a working furnace because of this man. We ended up calling another company, and they came within a couple hours on the same day and installed the parts. We of course had to pay additional money out of pocket for the new company but it was well worth it. We got scammed and I hope he doesn’t do it to anyone else.

Run away as fast as you can. We have a full Furnace and Central Air system under a 12 year warranty. Now having a crazy heat wave, bedrooms are upstairs and we have a 1 year old baby.

He has been promising to fix our AC which keeps shutting off and requiring hours before it restarts, for 3 summers now and fails to come back and fix the issue.

Each time he comes over and promises to fix it, it is when routine maintenance is due. He bills us but never comes back to fix the problem. Basically if you are paying for an install the service is great, same with routine service. But once it’s a warranty part that doesn’t make money he will ghost you.

If you dig into reviews based on warranty past the initial install reviews, you will see this pattern. You can also see this feedback on the BBB though I generally take that site with a grain of salt.

Now we are stuck with a baby having to suffer through a heatwave while we scramble to pay someone else to fix something that should be under warranty.

He tried to sell me a blower motor that was only 5 years old for $250 more than I could buy it for. Said it sounds noisy on start up. I diagnosed the problem myself. I removed the control board and there was a black burn spot on the mounting plate so I was 95% certain that was the problem. Just to be sure I used the service {Just Ask}. The expert on there helped me trouble shoot. He walked me through how to hook up my multi meter correctly and lo a behold it was the control board. I bought it online for $215 and it works perfectly. My furnace is 30 years old and it’s working perfectly. As long as parts are available furnaces are repairable. Don’t get ripped of by this guy.

Beware. This guy came to our house after we had noticed our furnace having delayed starts during a particularly brutal cold week.
Showed up and seemed decent enough, but after pulling the panels off the furnace and glancing over it with just a flashlight, without even running it during the diagnostic process, immediate red flags began showing up. He immediately deemed the furnace unsafe as it had "cracked heat exchangers" and went into the process of explaining how we would need a brand-new furnace. Went off quickly into explaining the financing process, etc. At no point did he show us what was actually wrong with the furnace, and again, didn't even run it while he looked it over. Didn't use an ohm reader, nothing. After consulting with family, found out he almost scammed my sister-in-law a few years ago, stating similar issues and her needing a new furnace as well. She got a second opinion from Smith Heating, and they replaced the defective part just fine, no issues since. This guy preys on new homeowners and their inexperience, awkwardly giggling during the entire conversation on a very sensitive matter, and using scare tactics and fast pace talking to trick you into believing it's a done deal and you have a dead furnace. Total scammer and not to be trusted. Call Smith Heating instead; their employees have real moral, ethical standards, not someone driven by greed.
