We were extremely dissatisfied with our previous lawn care service and asked our neighbors which company they use. Our two closest neighbors use Doehling and highly recommended them, so we signed up. So far, so good! We were happy with them last year and have signed up for them again in 2021.

Amazing service and employees!! We use them to treat our lawn that needed lots of help due the sod that was laid by the builder. After just one year, we’ve seen significant improvement. Some of our neighbors were impressed with how our yard looks and called Doehling to set their yards up for weed control. Looking forward to doing business every year!

I hired this company last year after the previous company I was using had difficulty with keeping my yard weed free. Doehling not only did a much better job with weed control, but they also spent the time to stop and discuss the lawn with me, providing pointers on how I can help make things better. I appreciated the personal touch and their overall customer service and will be using them again in the future!

We have a very challenging yard and have been using Doehling Landscape Services for more than 10 years. They have always done a great job mowing and fertilizing our yard. We also opt for their Fall Yard Clean-Up service each year. The owner and people who work with him are very professional and quick to respond. Excellent communication. Doehling Landscape Services is a company of high integrity that keeps my yard looking great, and I recommend them.

Doehling Landscape Services does an awesome job. They give you advanced notice and updates on when they will be servicing my lawn and always do a great job. My lawn has never looked so good.

My husband has always performed our yard maintenance but this past summer after using Doehling's services for the first time our yard was absolutely beautiful! Our lawn has never looked as good as it did last year. Everyone that I have interacted with from Doehling have been very pleasant and professional. I inquired about having additional services performed and they were very honest and told me that it was't necessary which demonstrates the integrity of the company. They could have made a lot more money off of me but were honest. I highly recommend Doehling Landscape.

We used Doehling last year for the first time and we were very happy with their services. Our yard was not looking good after having irrigation problems and other projects in our yard over the last couple of years. They did an amazing job communication when they were scheduled to stop by. Looking forward to another great season with them this year.

They fired me as a customer. They’ve done fall and spring cleanup for a couple years. And they did fertilizer for several years. I’ve only had two interactions with the owner Matt. He’s unprofessional and frankly rude. Last fall he knocks on my door to complain about my back yard because I have a privacy screen. And the fence gate is too small for his huge lawnmower for cleanup. I told him it hasn’t been a problem in the last 2-3 years. So wasn’t sure what he’s talking about. I’d just say there are better options with owners who understand customer service. Be wary of choosing Matt and his business.

We hired Doehling when moving into our new house last year to help with the lawn so we could get a handle on the other aspects of owning a new home. They came highly recommended by our neighbors and upon initially calling to setup service I learned their services were already booked up for the year (disappointing for us, but a good sign of their quality). I left a message anyways to get on the list for the following year. To my surprise, the owner called me back and let me know they'd be happy to fit me into the current year as I was already next door to a current client and the additional time needed would fit their schedule; I was very happy!
Every interaction I've had has been very positive - They offer options for how you may pay and each time I call with questions about my particular service or lawn care in general they take the time to explain everything carefully and courteously.
I can see why this company has such great reviews after using them for one year - Doehling offers fantastic value for money.

Excellent service. Doehling was the third lawn care company I have worked with and by far the best. Communication is quick, timely, and professional. My only complaint is my lawn grows almost too good!

We would not recommend them, look elsewhere. Lack of professionalism when it comes to any problems with their service. They do not at all react well to any criticism

They applied a fertilizer and sprayed a weed killer on my lawn last week, July 18th. Roughly a day after the service, we began noticing spots of dead grass on our lawn. We strongly believe this lawn company was negligent in the use of the weed killer, especially since they noted the high heat and humidity as an excuse when confronted about these dead patches. If the high heat and humidity was a concern, why did they still apply the weed killer and fertilizer. When contacted again, the company immediately stated that the dead grass was attributable to lawn disease. This is after we sent numerous pictures to them of the grass and they had came out to inspect the next early morning.

We contacted the U of M Horticulture Department and their plant disease clinic, along with our county lawn specialists- all have replied that it was suspicious that the grass died so closely to the application and that it is unlikely that a disease would occur or kill a lawn within a day or two. They also stated that the high heat and humidity could have made it more likely for the application to have killed some of the garden. We will be sending a sample of the lawn to the lab to confirm whether it contains a disease or not. If it comes back negative, we will be taking further action.

We were hoping to resolve this issue with the company directly, however they were adamant that this was a disease and not the result of their service- despite the fact that some of the dead grass occurs in direct lines from their spray when applying the weed killer in a sweeping motion. The company would not provide the details of what weed killer they used or their application rate. We wanted this information for the testing of the grass to see if it had a fungus. The owner of the company also became hostile towards us and canceled services, hanging up on us. I am happy their service is no longer being provided, but they could have been more professional. Matt Doehling became very hostile again, saying he would sue me for “abusing the justice system”. He also rationalized that the applicator, whose name is Mike Anderson, who visited our house had never had a complaint in 20 years and would not have one now after so long.

While emailing them, Mike got very agile and defensive, pretty much saying he would never damage property. We mentioned how Mike poorly spread granular fertilizer in the grass around our landscaping. The end result was that the fertilizer was all over in the soil of our plants. We ended up having to go out right after each time he visited to quickly remove all granular fertilizer around our plants, so their fertilizer would not over fertilize our already fertilized plants. The fertilizer spreader they use easily threw fertilizer 3 ft away from the lawn and into our plants. The response back we got from Mike was, "all the random landscaping was difficult to work around". Again, if you are not comfortable performing what we hired you for, then why did you do it? Either do the work correctly and with care in the first place or not at all.

Matt stated he will refund our remaining visits, but he will not refund the visit that damaged our lawn, which is what we would like too. In addition, we are looking for them to replace the lawn they damaged.

We will update on what happens. All in all, be careful with this lawn company. They may act nice, until you confront them about any damage on your property from their service; then their true personality shows.

Doehling Landscape Services has been treating/caring for our lawn for a few years and we've always had outstanding service! The communication is fantastic and the technician's always treat our property in a very respectful manner. I've recommended Doehling to all of our neighbors!

We’ve been using Doehling Lawn Treatments for many years and have been very happy. We get many compliments about our lawn!

I was a happy customer for years. Prepay my lawn service with add ons. They were here today to aerate my yard, and I had make special note of our in yard dog fence. Matt acknowledged these hazards, including an unmarked line, and had assured me they would address them. Mistakes happen, the fence line was broken and I politely asked what could be done. Despite this, the situation deteriorated when I contacted them, and NO compensation was requested from me. Unexpectedly, the owner responded by yelling, displaying a level of disrespect and unprofessionalism that was entirely unprovoked. It was fully undeserved and a pathetic way to treat a customer.

This was our first year with Doehling and they proven to be the best lawn service we have had in the past 6 years. We have tried other lawn and landscape companies, but none can hold a candle to Doehling. Timely, communicative, reasonably priced, and superior quality. I don't write many reviews, but Doehling Landscape is most deserving of your consideration if you are choosing a lawn and landscape company. Highly recommend.

We hired Doehling last year to treat our newly sodded lawn and the results were amazing! We live along a walking path and would constantly get comments about the beautiful appearance of our year. I highly recommend their service and will be using them for years to come.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN TRUGREEN! These guys do amazing work for a great price and actually care about what they are doing. The pre-paid annual lawn care plan helped me keep my lawn looking like a spotless carpet of Kentucky Bluegrass. After seeing the work these guys do, half my street signed up with them.
