The North Star guys showed up exactly when they said they would. They were very helpful and professional and took the extra time to answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend the North Star Lawn and Landscape team.

They were responsive, completed the work quickly and Very professional. I have had them back two more times for other projects and will continue to use them exclusively going forward. We have used North Star for 2 years now for lawn care and they have always done a great job. Nick is also a great guy. Good price, and always gets the job done.

I reached out very early in the year to get in line for some garden work. I had a small bed that needed to be redone. Nick came by to discuss what we wanted, and then we continued to communicate via texts and calls. Unfortunately the time between communication kept increasing and increasing until I no longer heard from him at all. I believe there wasn't any specific reason given, just that he was very busy and that a small project like mine was hard for them to get scheduled. I'm working with a different landscaper now.

Update: The company reached out to offer some free service to make it right and I asked for some weed treatment to be done. Nick got it done quickly and courteously. I might reach out for more small jobs in the future.

North Star Lawn Care has done a great job for us. We have used them for lawn care for three years. Great work and great communication from them. Not sure how they have staffed themselves so well through these challenging times but I am thoroughly pleased.

We have had Nick and his company cut our grass since we first bought our house in 2017 after finding him on Thumbtack. I think we were some of his first customers! He's super responsive, professional, and does a great job. In addition to providing lawncare services, he's done other projects for us like take out trees and spring and fall clean ups. We really trust him to tell us what we need and he never tries to oversell. In fact, we've asked him for non-yard home advice and he's really steered us in the right direction. I can't recommend North Star and Nick enough!

Nick and team couldn’t be more responsive or helpful. We had a tricky drainage issue due to a hill in our back yard. Many other groups were not willing to generate ideas and problem solve with us to get the best solution for our needs, but this team was. We talked through several ideas and landed on something that got the job done and done well. We’ve not seen any drainage issues since. During the work, the team was courteous and on time, always check with us when they ran into questions, and made sure it all turned out to our liking. Would work with them again— no hesitation!

Nick and his team are exceptional! Quick responses and they arrive when they say they will. You can’t find people like them, out there. Extremely hard working and they do a fabulous job…going above and beyond. I will be using them for all of my yard needs, from now on!

Very prompt and reliable service. Nick has been great to work with. Complete sod and sprinkler system installed and follow up Maintenace has been very good. Will use them again next spring.

Nick was awesome!!! I called and he was out to give a quote very quickly! After we decided they were out to get the job done quickly and they did an amazing job! They are willing to be available to help with follow up questions and offer advice. We are so happy we went with them and would and will HIGHLY recommend to everyone!!!

Nick and his team do a great job. I've had them mowing my lawn for a couple years now, and it is such a relief to have a reliable company. If there is ever going to be a delay (usually due to too much rain) Nick lets us know right away and let's us know when it would be rescheduled. When I have a question Nick is quick to respond. I even had them quote some additional yardwork and they were very reasonably priced. I have been very happy with this company and plan on staying with them for the long haul.

I had all of my old grass removed, an irrigation system installed and new sod added at my home. They were able to start a few days earlier than planned, which worked great and completed the project in a few days. I am very happy with the end result. When communicating with Austin, he was very responsive and answered all of my questions. I would recommend this company.

**Updating to add that Nick did contact me and we were able to work something out, which I'm appreciative of. I did add another star because I believe he really wants to improve and grow as a business owner.

My initial experience with Nick prior to hiring him was great. I was very comfortable with him and we discussed my options for my yard. I hired him to seed my yard and plant several arborvitae shrubs along my fence. We had multiple "misunderstandings" regarding what/ how much work would be done. He agreed to do one additional area in my yard, but never followed through. The seed he did plant never grew and my yard looked worse than when I hired him. I contacted him for close to year with no resolution, though he did tell me he'd re-seed my yard at no cost.

About a year after the initial work, I contacted him again, stating that I had more work I wanted done in addition to him re-seeding my yard. He came out to give me a quote on the new work and immediately told me that seeding my yard was not a good option- though he never told me that when he agreed to seed it initially. He gave ideas on how to help it grow this time, but once I got the quote for all the things he suggested, it was almost the same cost, if not more, then what I paid for the original seeding. Company has potential but ultimately too many issues for me to feel comfortable hiring again.

Nick was incredibly helpful when a utility contractor came and ripped up my aunts yard with their truck tires after a storm. The utility company ended up fixing it, but Nick was so kind and helpful when I was getting estimates for the repair. He went and assessed the damage the same day, had great communication overall just a nice guy. If I need lawn work in the future I’d definitely call these guys again!

We had a complicated lawn drainage issue that caused our garage to flood every storm and a 10 foot long ice pond to form in our walkway in the winter. Nick came out and to diagnose our issue and offered solutions that would work for us.

We got a couple of estimates and ultimately came back to North Star because they earned our trust that they could fix our issue. They made sure we fully understood the work that was going to be done and any time something unexpected came up during the project (like a buried stump) Nick and Alberto consulted with us.

The crew was friendly, respectful of our property, did beautiful work building our new patio, and communication was top notch during the whole project. Best of all, they fixed our drain problem entirely!

North Star went above and beyond when transforming our backyard. They showed up on time and finished on schedule, which isn’t always the case with landscapers. While the project was going, the team was respectful of our property and transparent when explaining the process. They even gave us advice on how to care for some of the things they weren’t even working on. They did a great job, and we’d hire them again.

Nick was very communicative before I agreed to work with his company. As soon as I did, I got radio silence every time I reached out. It was agreed that Nick's team would use a push mower in my yard for the first 2 weeks because we had freshly laid sod. I was shocked when I got home to see the quality of work done (See images) and reached out to Nick to cancel the service. Turns out that they used their riding mower. I got no apology, or request to rectify the work. I will have to lay new sod and I had to clean up the yard myself, there were glass clippings all over my driveway, sidewalk, patio, trees and shrubs. My intent is not to be harsh with this review, but to point out that this company does not care about customer service or satisfaction.

We’ve worked with North Star on three different occasions now, including two outdoor projects (turf and two water drainage related projects) and several handyman services. We have been super happy with North Star’s professionalism, quality and pricing. We have referred several friends to North Star now and will continue to work with them on many more projects.
