Great company! Called with an emergency Kitchen back up issue. Came out right away, very friendly and courteous! Also gave great tips on how to keep drains clean and clear. Prices were very reasonable. I would definitely call them again with any drain/plumbing needs.

Chris will recognize when you are someone who is curious and engaged enough that you'll pay attention to his explanations, and he'll give you lots of good tips about what you should do with your drain lines and when. Will definitely go to him for any of my future sewer needs.

Midway Sewer Services just finished a big job at my house. They were able to come out within a few hours of my phone call. Chris is a rockstar. He is knowledgeable and kept me informed of the process the whole time. He even called the city to get some more information on my line. I will definitely use Midway Sewer Service in the future. My time with various trades has shown that a lot of people hate their work & take it out on others, but Chris’s calm demeanor & honestly really helped me feel at ease with the whole process.

When he arrived, he invited me to watch so that I could understand what was going on. He quickly identified the problem with my floor drain and provided me a detailed rundown of why this might be going on, as well as, tips to prevent things from getting worse in the future. He also explained a problem that I have been having with another floor drain. Chris certainly knew his stuff and it showed in how quickly and confidently he was able to fix everything.

Beyond his technical skills, Chris was very friendly with not only myself but my family as well. He provided the same education to them about what was going on with the drain. He could have simply just let me re-tell everything, but in his own words ‘No one told me these things when I was a new homeowner’. Taking the time to educate us about our homes pipes really felt like he was going above & beyond.

Also, Chris probably had the cleanest work van I have seen for a plumber. It was organized & he knew where everything was. He definitely takes pride in his work & all the tools necessary for his trade.

All of that being said, I would recommend Chris to anyone I know. He really seems like the kind of guy that would have his own business someday & based on our experience, I can see him being a great leader & educator in that business. 👍

I had my laundry floor drain serviced by Chris. He did a great job explaining what he was doing and what caused the clog. It took him no longer than 25mins to unclog. No hassle of anything. Quick and easy. I will for sure be using Midway Sewer Services next time.

My laundry floor drain was backed up for 3 days where I couldn’t do laundry or wash dishes upstairs above it. I was also in the middle of moving and selling my home so I needed to fix this ASAP. I had Chris come in to help me and he was super kind, respectful, and knowledgeable. He explained to me what was happening and gave me tips of how to tell if something was minor versus major issues with pipes and drainage. He was able to fix my issue in less than an hour and everything was running smoothly and great again! Saved me so much time, money, and stress! We had such a great experience with Custom Homes. They've done 2 projects for us - a complete remodeling of our un-finished basement in St. Paul, and a smaller project the next year upstairs. The finished project of the basement was amazing, and way better than we hoped for. But the best part of our experience was their team. We've had other work done in Rochester, and were used to poor communication and projects going way over time. Shane could not be more communicative - he answers day and night, on weekends, over calls and texts. The project finished early, even though we had substantial requests including digging out the floor to increase the ceiling height. Like I said, we've already used them again for a smaller project - I'm sure if we end up getting other work done, they'll be top of our list!

They did a wonderful job renovating our kitchen, bathroom, and replacing our deck. All the subcontractors were very professional and easy to work with. Finished the work ahead of
schedule. Great attention to detail- always responsive to any questions or concerns.

We used Custom Homes for a major remodel of our home which included demolition, excavation, & complex structural changes. Shane, Craig, & Jason were great to work with & the cost/fee structure was reasonable & transparent. I would not hesitate to recommend them to handle your project.

We are newbies in the home ownership world and had a mid-century that needed A LOT of TLC. Our main concerns were quality and communication. Shane and the Custom team have are great to work with. They are very transparent on pricing, offer lots of guidance, and are very responsive/accountable. They have great tracking (savvy app and financial reviews) and I would definitely use them again.

We've worked with Custom Homes over the past 2 years and it's been a great experience. We've worked with other contractors over the years and the folks at cutom truly raised the bar for our expectations. We had an old, sagging garage built on a failing foundation that custom replaced for us with a new, 2-story garage that is the envy of the neighborhood. They also replaced the siding on our haouse as a part of the project. We appreciated that they were willing to work with us to figure out a few things that couldn't be anticipated until we actually broke ground on the project. We knew we were likely to run into a sewer line and some other issues along the way that would add work to the project. Custom was very up front about estimating the costs as well as giving us some idea what add-ons might cost. Throughout the project, we found them to be a friendly and approachable bunch of folks. Their online tool and app made it easy to get questions and answers back and forth and to approve material selections as we went along. We were also impressed by the quality of their sub-contractors. We found them all to be professional, talented, and approachable. Like any big project of this sort, questions came up from time to time and occasionaly corrections needed to happen but the good nature of the custom team made these easy to work through. Lastly, we'd be remiss if we didn't note their individual commitment to quality work. Each time one of them was doing work at our property, I was impressed by how meticulous they were. They are truly a bunch of craftsmen themselves and I really respect that. A big thanks to Jason, Craig, and Shane as well as their office staff. You made a big project bearable and we love our new garage!!

We were first-time home builders in the east metro of the Twin Cities, so the process felt a bit daunting at first. From our very first meeting, Shane, Craig, and Jason made everything approachable and straightforward. Shane led the charge as our main contractor, always organized, communicative, and patient with our questions. Craig brought a great eye for detail and creative solutions, and Jason handled the site prep and excavation work with precision and care.

The entire team helped us navigate each stage of the build with confidence. They were transparent, easy to work with, and genuinely reasonable when decisions or changes needed to be made. Our build timeline stayed impressively on target, only slightly delayed by the inevitable supply chain issues during the COVID period, which were completely outside anyone’s control.

Their subcontractors were all excellent, and if something did not go perfectly, Shane and his team always stepped in quickly to make it right or hold their subs accountable. That accountability really stood out to us because it is clear they care about the quality of their work and the satisfaction of their clients long after closing.

Even a couple of years after moving in, the Custom Homes team remains responsive and helpful whenever we have reached out about anything related to the original build. That level of ongoing support is rare and speaks volumes about their integrity and commitment to their homeowners.

We would absolutely recommend Custom Homes to anyone considering a custom build. Their professionalism, reliability, and genuine care for their clients made the process as smooth as possible, and if we ever decide to build again, they will be our first call.

Custom Homes did an amazing job on our ADU in Hopkins. They worked with us getting the plans approved by the city. Their communication with was excellent. Always only a text message away. We are so pleased with our beautiful new construction.
