Solar Energy System feedback from St Paul residents

We really like our new solar system supplied by All Energy Solar - our system turned on during its first power outage yesterday and we didn't even know that power had been lost! Pros: All Energy Solar has excellent crews that install the solar panels and upgrade electrical service. We were especially impressed with our lead electrician and the job he did converting all of our circuits to new breakers and panels. The rest of the crew did a great job also – they were very careful with our new roof and were clearly safety-conscious. The installation looks very clean – a result, no doubt, of the crew’s precision and attention to detail. Our project manager was dedicated to making sure we always had information about the status of our system. He could always be reached by mail or phone and was very responsive to our questions and concerns. Cons: Demand for solar was so much higher than available people that there were frustratingly long queues that delayed our installation. These queues were everywhere - at Xcel, at All Energy Solar, and at government bodies issuing permits and doing inspections. All Energy Solar seems to mitigate its queues by making the company an attractive place to work, which helps them recruit and retain good people.

Of all the companies we talked to, they had the most sophisticated projections for how much solar energy we could collect and how to maximize output with panel placement. Jacob in particular is stellar - very knowledgeable and communicative.

I recently completed my second solar project with All Energy Solar. I had All Energy Solar install 58 solar panels on my business 7 years ago and the process was smooth and hassle free. That system is still working like new. I recently bought a new house and installed 40 panels on my roof. Once again, All Energy Solar did a fantastic job. The work was done in a timely manner and I received routine status emails throughout the process. I always knew exactly what was going on and what was going to happen next. I couldn't be happier! Thank you to the All Energy Solar Team!

THREE OR FOUR years ago I started looking into getting solar panels for my home in south Minneapolis. Even with subsidies it didn't make economic sense to me at the time, plus I was concerned about the quality of my roof, as it was about halfway through its projected lifetime. No one wants to install solar panels, only to re-install them when an old roof fails. Despite that fact I went through the process of collecting bids and proposals. I was surprised at the time by the wide variety in quality of communications provided by the bidders. I was impressed, though, by the professionalism shown by the All Energy Solar rep, and his willingness to talk about something that at the time was just a proposed project. The relative age of AES also worked in their favor, as most of its competitors were relatively new to the field. This is important because most, including AES, offer generous warranties. Fast forward to August 2023, and a rather severe hail storm had passed over the area that ended with new roofs for most of the houses in the neighborhood, including mine. Once the new roof was in I decided in January of 2024 to once again look into solar. You never know about the economics of this fast moving field. The prices for the projects had gone up marginally, but there appeared to be new subsidy programs that looked promising. Over the ensuing six months or so AES and myself went through a detailed process to see how adding solar might work out for me. At times I suggested avenues, and at times they brought new information and expertise to the table. Once everything fell into place I was shortly placed on the construction schedule and the day soon came for the work to be done. It was interesting watching the small AES crew do their work. One thing I immediately noticed was how they had meticulously planned out the project, and how when they got here they spent a good deal of time evaluating the project on site. Another thing that stood out to me was their attention to safety. A couple guys spent a good two or three hours on my roof just getting it ready to work up there, including installing secure cleats (which they left, thank you!) Three days later the construction was done, tested and working. A few weeks later the building & electrical inspectors approved the project, and a few weeks after that an Xcel tech came out to meet the AES electrician to do a final test and turn the system on. Throughout all that I didn't have to contact any of these people, and my AES contacts kept me fully up to date. Today my system is up and producing electricity, and I can monitor its performance through a browser-based interface. I couldn't be happier with the process, team and performance of AES. I would wholeheartedly recommend them for your project. Oh, and I just saw in the news that Xcel is planning to raise electric rates, so I got this up and running just in time ;)

I'm so glad that we went with All Energy Solar. Communication from the very beginning was excellent and the installers were all very professional and efficient. Overall cost was better than some competitors. I'm excited to see the savings in utility costs not to mention the positive impact on the environment. I highly recommend this company.

Just had my solar system installed during a snow storm and below zero temperatures. The crew consisting of Joseph, Alex, Sam and Hayden showed up early, stayed late and worked hard. They were friendly, respectful of my home and family and great people to talk to. Would recommend 10/10.
