I love my new fireplace, and Carter Custom was great to work with every step of the way. We got quotes from several places, and they were the fastest and the least expensive, and have been great about communication.

Fireplace guy came to do finishing touches today. I’m impressed with the job they did & their quick followup. working with them was easy. They provided suggestions which I ultimately went with after doing my own investigation. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Jon and Jeremy were fantastic to work with. Easy to communicate with and they completed all maintenance/repairs on our fireplace quickly. We had been told our older gas fireplace needed to be replaced for thousands of dollars - Jeremy had it repaired within an hour for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Carter Construction helped us stabilize and raise our sunroom quickly after a foundation problem was realized. They collaborated with the company installing helical piles for supports, placing new posts during the process. Benny and Bob brought years of experience, assessing our structure, and making recommendations. We were ’squeezed in’ during the busy summer and are so very grateful. The entire crew was pleasant to work with, fun to watch them build a replacement deck so quickly and efficiently. Every person seemed skilled and competent, offering suggestions and ideas from the deck design to the selection of materials. Job well done!

Had a fantastic experience with Carter Custom in my basement finishing! From when Benny first came on site to evaluate/quote the project, we knew we wanted to work with them. No fluff, no pressure, no gimmicks. Just straightforward project discussion and we could tell he was totally in line with our vision. Quote was competitive with the others we received too. Working with Brett and Jon was great - super communicative, gave regular updates on when things were happening, and always available for questions. Brett came on site several times which was super helpful to make sure there weren't any misunderstandings, and he regularly followed up with open action items. Carter Custom Construction just finished constructing for us, a 14’ X 14’ four-season porch. And we could not be happier. A very pleasant experience. The project included complicated roofline modifications, long support spans, deck disassembly and reconstruction, door and window removals, large tri-fold door, and mini split / heat pump installations.

What an amazing experience! Beginning with the initial meeting with Benny and throughout each phase of construction, the entire team of John, Matt, Jeremy, Brad, Dean, and Elliot - - - demonstrated an unbeatable combination of professionalism, skillful talent, and most importantly expert knowledge!
We are more than impressed with the beautiful, new basement and offer our sincerest gratitude to the entire team!

Carter Custon Construction recently completed an update/repair to our basement family room and bathroom after it had sustained damage from minor water intrusion. CCC was great to work with, gave us a reasonable bid and completed the work in a reasonable time frame. They were willing to work within some time constraints we had and Jon managed the communication during all phases of the work in an expert fashion. He paid close attention to the details from the outset ensuring all the right pieces were ordered and were within our budget. He always let us know the plan for the upcoming week, and if/when a schedule change was necessary.
Every crew showed up on time and worked efficiently without exception. They were very attentive to any concerns we raised (like dust) and took immediate action to meet our requests without complaint, and they always offered good suggestions to any questions we had.
So, bottom line, they were professional, did quality work on time, on budget, and clearly communicated with us continuously so we were always felt part of the process. The finished job looks and functions great. Will definitely look to CCC for any future projects on our home as they proved to be a cut above. Thanks to Benny, Jon, Bob, Brad, Jeremy, and all the rest for a job well done!

*You stopped by, sent your crews, did what you could, handrails still very crooked, still loose boards, etc. Is what it is. Just responding to your post, that you indeed stopped by and I accepted your efforts to fix the issues. Some of the workmanship just cannot be fixed I guess. Thanks anyway.

8/1/2022 (Update after company's response and call with owner)
Responding to the company's response which is not truthful as you will see below.

FIRST - Don't apologize if you don't mean it.

1. UNKNOWN: Net new fact that you stop building decks every November - because the guys you had here said they build all year around.
2. TRUE: Me "the customer" was adamant about finishing by the agreed upon date, because it was agreed upon and I paid your high quote for it - apologies for me trying to hold you accountable.
3. UNTRUE: I engaged the neighbor directly and paid them directly to pour footings. NOTE: It cost me another $6,000 and you credited me $4,000 - so it was NOT IN THE SAME BUDGET.
4. TRUE: Snow is gone, no one showed up to clean debris - we did that.
5. TRUE: No one came to do a final review of the deck in the spring when the snow was gone.
6. Got a call from owner and it was not constructive or helpful at all. Communicated issues and we argued and yelled at each other on the phone.
7. I get it, CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS WRONG with you and never your fault. Understood.
8. Funny thing is, you responded by saying you stand behind your work, but you never called to ask what I thought about your work. Communication works both ways.

7/31/22 (ORIGINAL POST)
First, paid them about $100/Sq ft for a deck that took 6 weeks longer than promised. Not worth the money with this company. Deck boards move and are uneven, lines are off, and they damaged boards during installation. They left debris behind (nails, materials, garbage, etc., not safe for your dog beware!) Never got a call from Benny the owner or anyone on how satisfied we were with their work - wonder why? But they were sure to invoice and call for money a few days after they sent their invoice. Word of advice, make sure they complete what they say before you pay them.

We recently had a deck and patio built by Carter Custom Construction, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! The team was reliable and easy to work with from start to finish. They understood our vision, communicated clearly throughout the process, stayed on schedule, and delivered high-quality work. The final product looks fantastic and has really transformed our outdoor space. Carter Custom Construction has our highest recommendation and we would definitely use them again for future projects!

Extremely pleased with my 25’ x 14’ deck. Jon and Benny were really easy to work with and they built my deck under a week. The entire process only took 2 weeks and I was not expecting it done for 4-6 weeks as I was also required to get approval from my HOA. I would highly recommend them as they work exudes quality. Thank you so much for making family time and hosting more enjoyable.

We had an incredible experience working with Carter Custom Construction. We were able to discuss options & they provided recommendations based on our budget. Moreover, we did all the planning remote and they were flexible on timing since it was new construction. We highly recommend them to anyone. The work is top notch & the highest quality.

Carter Custom installed our new bathtub and surround this week. When I initially had Benny over and explained our needs and wishes, he assured us they would fast track the project and get it done. They delivered! Everything looks great! Everyone was easy to talk to and their communication was phenomenal! We are extremely pleased and will definitely hire them again.

We have been enjoying the deck built by Carter Custom Construction. We are very happy we went with maintenance free decking. Also, because of the supply chain issues with the pandemic, we waited for the style of railing we wanted -- in the end, it now looks great! Finally, the lighting they put in on the posts and stair risers are great!

As with any projet there were challenges and question. Jon from Carter keep us well informed through the process and owrked with us to resolve everything!

In short, we really appreciate the splendid work the team did! Everyone was very professional; the quality of the work has been great; and we are incredibly happy with the results!
