They started a mini-split installation for us last summer. Brandon was very informative and helpful getting things set up. They were on time to do the first part of the installation. Upon arrival the next day, I was greeted with an enormous mess, soda bottles everywhere, boxes, ends of pipes. Nothing was thrown in the dumpster. The installers also ruined our A/C unit getting it out of the way. Someone literally bent the metal box to smithereens. They also used several fittings that need to be replaced and gave us the wrong measurements to make a hole in the concrete wall. We never received a single follow up call for installation of the rest of the system. When I called today to get the manufacturer name of the system to be used, and started telling Brandon some of the things (listed above) that we were frustrated with, he got a little testy. Not the best customer service and not the best installation job. So frustrating, but I'd rather get it set up right and give my business and money to a company that will do a good job.

Great customer service! We have been using Down Home Heating & Air for several years now...couldn't be more pleased! FYI - we participate in a plan where they come out every spring and fall to check our equipment - highly recommend this pre-emptive level of service.

Wouldnt use anyone else! I had other heating companies out to look at my furnace and the company charge me 500.00 and didn’t fix the problem! Brandon came out and fixed us up. We always call Down home when our heating and air acts up! Honest and reliable!

I had these guys install a new hvac system at my previous house a few years ago. They did a great job and their price was fair. We moved at the end of 2019 to a new home and of course we had a unit fail at our new house in 2020. So we called Down Home again, along with a couple other companies. They were again priced well compared to others, so we gave them the job. Brandon came out to bid the job and was very honest about what was wrong, and provided recommendations that others didn’t, showing his expertise and excellent customer service. We ended up needing to add an air return in the basement to help the system work more efficiently. No one else brought this to our attention.
Once out here, they did a great job! Josh was very accommodating and stayed late the first day to get the AC that ran the bedroom side of our house completed and running so we could sleep well that night, and came back the next day to finish installing our second unit. They even dug up and transplanted a bush because it was where the AC needed to go but my wife wanted the bush to stay- talk about customer service! Once done, Brandon did all the work (which seemed to be a ton of paperwork) to give us what we needed to get a rebate on our more efficient hvac system. Overall, they made sure we were happy and went above and beyond. I’d highly recommend Down Home!

The team responded to my call promptly, showed up on time, worked efficiently, got the parts needed to fix my furnace quickly and gave me helpful tips on our home HVAC system along the way. The price was reasonable too. I would definitely recommend them.

Down Home has been maintaining my heating and air system for several years. I do not have any troubles, the semi-annual check ups carry the system through each season! I highly recommend them!
Note: When Brandon first worked on my system he encountered one that was improperly installed and was able to correct it with very reasonable charges and saved me from having to buy a new system!

I have used them to install a new unit and to service existing units. They are very prompt and fair on pricing. I have had good experiences all around with at least 2-3 service calls, and special shout out to Josh for going above and beyond.

My central AC went out on 07/16/2022.
He came out, looked at it, told me it would need the fan motor replaced. I paid somewhere around $600 - since this was kind of an emergency, I ended up borrowing money from some folks that help with mutual aid in order to get it addressed.

September 18th 2022, I get home and find my AC is not blowing cold air anymore again.
I sent him a message and explained the situation, since it had barely been 2 months since that previous repair. He pretty much told me if it wasn't working, it would be an entirely different issue (without looking at it) but he could make an appointment.
Since it was just about Fall, I decided to hold off.

Early summer 2023, I filed a claim through my home warranty, and someone from a different company came to look at my unit.
He came back inside looking slightly alarmed, and showed me some photos of my unit on my phone... The condenser on the unit had literally blown up, you could see where it had blown a hole in the unit and expelled coolant - again, 2 months after a repair of $600+ on the fan motor. The entire unit needs to be replaced at this point, leaving me with a minimum out of pocket expense of at least $2k if I use my warranty, and around $4k if I don't.

I've gone back and forth about leaving a review for this since it's been so long, but I do feel like it's VERY strange that this happened 2 months after a big repair like that, and considering he said it would be an entirely different part/issue, I almost wonder if he noticed another issue and just decided not to deal with it or mention it to me, since there had been a massive heat wave going on and everyone was backed up with service orders? I have no idea.

It's been almost 2 years now since it went out, and my household relies solely on portable AC units because I just can't afford a $2000+ repair for something that I don't feel should have ever happened.

    **Editing to respond:
I am looking at my invoice from July 2022 and it is definitely this company.
And while I understand what you're saying about potentially being unable to anticipate future mechanical failures, I can't help but find it interesting that the fan motor for the condenser was replaced 2 months prior to the condenser itself blowing up.
    Best.

I called for advice regarding a relative that lives out of state. Brandon answered and was more than willing to help me. He took the time to give me advice, address my concerns, and even offered to review a quote from another company. I will definitely call Down Home Heating and Air with any future HVAC needs.
