Read moreI got my Tuff Shed in 2019 and we had an EF2 tornado in march and the only damage I got was the roof shingles came off and a damaged vent. One Tuff Shed
I bought a Tuff shed about 2 years ago and have been very pleased with the shed. I moved my business from St. Peters to Wentzville and wanted to see about moving the shed to the new warehouse. I was told that it would be $750 to move the shed. The locations are both easy access on concrete and are about 10 miles apart. Tuff shed is not interested in taking care of previous customers. This shed was bought already put together at Home depot and was delivered fully assembled. on a trailer. It took the guy 15 minutes from when he pulled up to when he left to deliver the shed. I was expecting to pay around $200 to pickup and deliver the shed. $750 is just trying to take advantage of a situation. I will never purchase another Tuff Shed and will tell all of my business associates and employees the same.
My wife wanted a 'she shed' with a porch. I went with the Tuff Shed location in Fenton over a comparable Tuff Shed at Home Depot. After looking at both, I just felt the quality of the corporate Tuff Shed shed was better than the Depot Tuff Shed. I needed to customize the building configuration and Jeff (who was awesome) at the Fenton location was able to give me a 8x10 shed with the gable over the 10 foot wall instead of the regular build where the gable is over the 8 foot wall. The only issue in the design was that I wanted a 4 foot porch coming out from the 10 foot wall and that seemed to be difficult to price and design with the shed building I wanted. I decided to build the porch on after the shed went up - which I did and it looks great. I prepared the gravel pad and the guys came within 2 weeks to build the shed. It went up quickly. The only issue was that it was the first day for one of the workers and I don't know how experienced as a builder he was. His drip edge installation was a bit questionable, but then so was mine. The guys were quick, efficient, listened well to my issue that I was going to add on a porch to the front, cleaned up perfectly and were as polite as can be. What I like about the shed is that it's watertight, built on metal joists and solid as a rock. The windows and door (we got a Dutch door) are easy to work and look great. The interior has a silver reflective finish and really does keep the inside cooler than you would expect, What gives me pause on the shed is the building is put together with round head nails which miss the 2x4s in many areas. Also, should you need to pull off any trim, which is installed with the same nails, the holes left are huge. Some of the interior framing isn't straight - like around the vent and that gives the inside a kind of "slapped together" look. However, overall I have absolutely no complaints. The exterior paint I used covered the exterior nails well. I didn't get it pre-painted as a cost savings and also it gave me more flexibility with the color. With the porch added (which was a chore believe me) it looks just like my wife wanted it to look. The best part of adding on to this shed is that the siding and trim is available at Menards. It makes everything easier when it all looks the same. Jeff is awesome and the Tuff Shed is as well. Is it perfect? No. But it's better than any shed on the market I've seen. The best part is that you can customize it to your needs, which you usually can't do with the sheds you'll see by the side of the road. I wish you well on your shed venture.
The carpenters worked very hard and were accommodating in installing our new shed. Unfortunately, before the shingles were up, it was realized we (the customer) had picked out a color that didn't match the roof of the house. My husband spoke with the factory rep and wanted to work out something. We were told that the shingles would be installed no matter what and we could pay to take them down and reinstall a different color. We are only 30 minutes from the factory and would have willingly paid for a courier. Unfortunately, we were not given a chance for this option. All the rep would discuss is that the project had to be on schedule in order for the next shed to go up tomorrow elsewhere. We called corporate that evening, but were told local made the money decisions. We sent an email on their website anyway, but have not heard back. (It has been over 24 hours at the time of writing this review.) As a side note, it appeared a robo dialer did leave a message on my phone today to invite me to an exclusive sales event. (I'd originally inquired via the web about their sheds, but chose a local rep later.) Overall, It would appear that the strengths are they have a strong desire to help you purchase a new shed and the contractors on the job really want to deliver quality. However, a little extra customer care from sales during the installation would have been warmly welcomed and expected. Edited 8/14/2013 8:57 p.m.
