My garage door wouldn't open. I called for a service appointment and the technician arrived within the hour. He determined the problem and corrected it. The belt had failed and even though it was under warranty through the manufacturer, it would've taken a week to get the replacement. So unfortunately, I had to buy a belt to get the problem fixed that evening. I did call the manufacturer and they shipped me a new belt. It would be nice if I could exchange the brand new belt that I receive for a partial rebate on the cost of the work that was done.

They were to be here at noon and now they said 1 pm. Notified me 10 minutes before noon and apparently they have no concern about my time!

Wonderfully fast response and service, which is greatly appreciated given my hectic schedule. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely be the first I'll call if I need help again!

Sugar Creek has an impressive selection of plants and very knowledgeable staff. We consulted with Nancy to create a shade loving, deer and rabbit resistant3 garden area. We have been impressed with her knowledge and dedication to client satisfaction.

Rottler is Lloyd and Harry from Dumb and Dumber. Friendly, showed up, and handed us a plan that solved nothing.
The situation: squirrels got into my elderly mother's house through the bathroom exhaust vent. She could hear them running through the walls. I was out of town for medical reasons, so my wife called Rottler and asked for help getting the squirrels out and the hole sealed.
My family scheduled their day around being available at the time of the their scheduled appointment, but then Rottler arrived hours earlier. They notified them right before they showed up, when they weren't home. If you're going to arrive early, be considerate and check-in that change works for the client.
His solution was a plastic cover over the vent opening. My mother, who is sharp, asked the obvious question: how do the squirrels get out? His answer: they'll chew through the plastic. Imagine handing a package to the shipping counter, paying for it, and the clerk assures you it will never reach its destination. That was the transaction. He installed a fix he told us would fail, and it came with a $175 invoice.
Any company that handles squirrels should know the standard approach: a one-way exclusion door over the entry point so the animals leave and can't return, then a permanent seal once they're out. Rottler didn't offer it, didn't mention it, and left an 80-something woman with squirrels in her walls and a piece of plastic on her house.

Rottler, refund the $175. Everyone else, don't call Rottler for wildlife. Call a company that answers "how do they get out" with something other than "they won't."Official response from representative 22.09.2026 18:19We’re sorry to hear about this experience. The concerns you described—including the change in arrival time, the recommended solution, and how the service was explained—are not something we take lightly. We would appreciate the opportunity to review the service record with our wildlife team and address your concerns directly. -
Visiting and had to do a load of laundry. This place had easy access to purchase and use the wash card. Easy to use machines and friendly staff. Free dryers and AC too! Bonus! Plus my kid was given quarters to play Pac-Man while we waited. Thank you!

I'm confused by all the great reviews. I hired STL Pest Control specifically for an active vole problem. It has been a mess from start to finish.
When the technician arrived, I showed him the holes, runways, and plant damage, but he focused on moles and told me he did not think I had voles. I repeatedly explained that voles were the reason I had called. He ultimately told me the treatment he was providing would "take care of both moles AND voles," so I agreed to proceed. This was assured to me numerous times.
Afterward, the paperwork described a "Mole Yard Treatment," stated that no vole activity was observed, and showed that the service was a target mole treatment plus a granular animal repellent. I had already tried repellents myself; I hired a pest-control company because I wanted the actual vole problem treated. A repellent is not equivalent to infestation treatment.
The apparent lack of knowledge about voles and the inability to properly identify the problem I had specifically hired them to address was concerning to me. Given that pest identification is such a basic part of effective treatment, that significantly undermined my confidence in the service.
When I contacted the company about the mismatch, I expected them to apologize for the confusion and perform the service I was originally told I was paying for. Instead, they defended what had been done and tried to manipulate the situation, refusing any accountability. At different points they relied on the fact that the granular product could deter voles, while also explaining that their targeted vole protocol had not been performed because the technician said he did not identify active vole holes. That was exactly the problem: I had hired them for voles, repeatedly told the technician about the voles during the visit, and was assured the treatment would address them.
The issue eventually resulted in a credit-card dispute that was resolved in my favor. The company still maintains that I owe the balance and continues sending automated invoices even after I asked them in writing to stop.Official response from representative 19.09.2026 00:05Katie, I talked with the tech and he couldn't find any voles just mole activity. He went ahead and did a preventative vole and mole application which in many cases that does the trick. Joe is one of our best mole and vole technician with many years of experience and has a really good eye for any activity. I am sorry this has been going round and round for sometime but now I am aware of it and will take care of this personally. I would like to come out asap to check the yard and put another set… -
Cold calling people multiple times when you've already declined is absolutely absurd. Then the guy who called is brand new and doesn't know anything. Couldn't answer any questions why would I use them.

Everything was fantastic and cleaned in detailed and with care and urgency!
I would highly recommend them and have used them multiple times!Official response from representative 12.09.2026 22:21Thank you! I appreciate the repeat business and we truly take pride in our work and care about the job that we perform! -
Nicest people, good dry cleaners. Don't have shirt service. Price is about average. Convenient location at end of strip mall.

Terrible. Save yourself a lot of grief and frustration and go anywhere but Slyman. Customer service is the absolute worst. They don't stand behind what they sell (KitchenAid fridge 6 months old needs yet another repair), came damaged inside and out and their 3rd party delivery service (they say it's their own but it's a 3rd party I now have to deal with) damaged my door getting it in. First and last time Slyman customer.

Walked around for 30 minutes trying to find somebody to help me. I had quite a few amount of plants I had to purchase. I had questions nobody would answer my questions. I barely got some money to check me out. Awful customer service in fact there's no customer service I would definitely recommend going anywhere else.

Rick was responsive (for a smaller job like ours - that's really saying something!), very fair, and did quality work. He gave us a price that we were pleasantly surprised by, and he seemed pained to even quote as much as he did. We had a slight depression in the middle of our slab which he was able to level out, which wasn't necessarily something he was planning on. He is friendly, educated, and a very hard worker who genuinely seems to care about the work he's doing. And he's even good conversation. Nicely done, sir.

Steve was amazing! He is so knowledgeable about KitchenAid mixers that he practically diagnosed ours via text message description of the sound it made when it stopped working!
We drove from St Louis and met him at a public place in Festus early on a Saturday morning. We had breakfast at a local diner, and about the time we finished (less than an hour later), Steve called, ready to meet us and return a perfectly working mixer. I loved that he could plug it in with his portable generator to show us how well it worked. His prices are fair and we are thrilled to have this fixed instead of replacing.
100% recommend this service and Steve's expert work! -
Very pleased with the repair service to our garage door...the bottom right side roller had slipped out of the door bracket, got stuck in a cocked position which then slightly bent the roller frame and the actual door panels.
The repair man was courteous and very knowledgeable...the roller was repositioned, the roller guide frame was bent back to the correct position.
Luckily the door panels that were slightly starting to bend went back into a flat position.
After two weeks, there have been no further problems.
A very reasonable repair charge, there was no pressure in suggesting unnecessary additional parts were required.
They will get our repeat business in the future.
Honest repair work at an honest price.Official response from representative 08.09.2026 13:11This is great! Thanks so much for giving us such a thoughtful review, Richard! We appreciate your recognition and will do our best to keep up the great work. We look forward to working with you again in the future! -
We hired two men and a truck to move a dresser and a couple of small items from St Louis to our house. After they were finished my wife said she would hire them again in a heartbeat.
From my first call to get information to today they did a great job contacting me on a regular basis.Official response from representative 15.09.2026 17:36Love hearing that, especially that you’d hire us again in a heartbeat! I’m glad the move went smoothly and that our communication stayed clear from the first call through delivery. Thanks for choosing us to do the heavy lifting , even for the small stuff! -
My garage door would, intermittently, not close. Finally reaching the last straw, I contacted Overhead Door and was happy that a same-day appointment was available. The technician did a thorough job of troubleshooting and identified the likely problem. He fixed it, as well as a minor installation error (which had not affected its operation) done by whoever installed the opener 15 years ago. Throughout, he was friendly, explained what he was doing, and answered questions clearly. This was over a week ago, and I have been very happy with the results.
Official response from representative 02.09.2026 13:32Excellent! Thanks so much for giving us such a thoughtful review, Mark! We appreciate your recognition and will do our best to keep up the great work. We're here for you anytime! -
Highest bid for a two hour move for 4-pieces of furniture. One piece requires 4-men. North of $1,000. No thank you.

Fabulous experience with these movers. They were polite, careful, professional, and treated us as if we were family and as if the items they were moving were as precious to them as they were to us.
Official response from representative 02.09.2026 18:07We're thrilled to hear about your fabulous experience, Jan! Our team takes pride in treating every move with care and professionalism. Thanks for choosing TWO MEN AND A TRUCK! -
Terrible experience with Gateway Sewer & Drain. I paid $542 in labor plus $225 for a camera inspection -- $767 total -- and they still couldn't resolve the problem or even locate the outdoor access/cleanout line.
I hired Tope Plumbing, and within about 15 minutes they located an outdoor cleanout roughly 5 feet from where Gateway had been working. They hydro-flushed the line, cleared the blockage, and got everything flowing again for $305 within 1 hour.
Almost $800 with no resolution vs. $305 to Tope to actually find the access point and fix the problem.
Stay away from Gateway. Hire them if you want to blow your money on labor and inspection charges for nothing to get done.
Keep in mind these guys tried convincing me I needed to excavate 9 feet of dirt to find the outdoor access line, Tope found it in 15 min. Can you imagine if I didn't get a second opinion and spent thousands excavating for nothing? The picture attached shows their "findings." Jim was the one who told me the excavation needed to happen. Beware.
