Had great experience with them for our window treatments! Great team, thank you!

Needs work on stopping people from parking in the delivery driveway. Can’t swing wide enough to miss the big rock and curb on the left with people ignoring the no parking signs and blocking the driveway

About to by over 30 items placing on counter once done place on counter I tell the lady I have my military ID. She said sorry I already scanned 1 item! Are you serious! I explained what I was doing she pointed to the sign, the sign just says they offer military discount nothing about if the cashier is able to key a item before you show a ID you loose. Now I am going to Lowes and I hate going to chain businesses. Rest of the staff are great and have been their multiple times before.

Wickman's is the place to go in Springfield for a great selection of seeds, plants, trees, and garden decor. You won't see many of the varieties of plant they stock elsewhere. They always have plenty of plants, and things are continually changing from season to season. They have occasional special events which are great fun as well. My only gripe is that their stuff is consistently pricier than some other places, but it is a boutique kind of place, after all.

Absolutely impressed with the gorgeous arrangement delivered for my mom on Valentine’s Day. Will always buy Wickman’s!

Three years ago we bought a new home and made an appointment with Wickman’s to discuss landscaping. No one showed up, but someone called two months later to apologize and we thought it might be an anomaly. We are moving again and decided to give Wickman’s a try again. We made an appointment for a consultation and tried to confirm the appointment the day of, but no one could confirm the appointment and no one showed up. I can only conclude they are not interested in acquiring new customers. Lesson learned.

I am so disappointed. I have been a loyal patron for 15 years. After checking the website which stated they closed at 5pm I arrived at 4:05 pm to shop for a couple plants to top off my garden. I picked up 2 from the outdoor area and went to check out. The sign on the door stated they close at 4pm during this time. OK I get that. I'm okay with reduced hours etc. during this difficult time. My issue is the employee doing transactions outside while they are supposed to be closed who tells me quite smartly to get up early and come back in the morning. As an essential worker who's hours are 7-4 that's insulting.

August 2023 update! Please see below to read my original review. I really want to share this amazing plant that I obtained at Wickmans right after I wrote my original review! Look at this weird sinuous, snake like succulent! The points along that stem are its leaves, they're so tiny! Anyway, it's about to blossom after doubling its size this summer, and I wanted to share it because believe me this is an Addams family looking blossom, I Googled it and it's so crazy! I can't wait for it to happen, it also looks like there will be more than one and I can't wait to share it with you all! Thanks again Wickman's! Y'all are the best. Okay if this is your first time, please read the original partof my review down below! 🔻🔻🔻

Almost every time I drive by Wickmans I feel pangs of longing inside my gut. I can't help but feel compelled to buy weird succulents (of which they consistently stock an eclectic assortment).
Are you feeling the bug? So you need to go out and get a variegated aloe hybrid? I understand that feeling and when I feel it, I go to Wickmans. Do you want plants that don't eat plant food, do you want plants that eat flies and other things that breathe oxygen? Carnivorous plants as it were?? Go to Wickmans. Do you need one scoop of sand and two scoops of succulent soil and maybe a crazy looking planter? Maybe you need a string of pearls to bring to your office but you can't have anything too big because it won't fit on your desk? Get your 2-in square kiln glazed planter and your matching tiny string of pearls plant for your desk at Wickmans. Don't forget to prepare yourself for thousands of sweet senior ladies to ask where did you get that beautiful little plant (and you do know, when a sweet senior lady asks where you got a plant, what they mean is "Damn you've got good plant game", and you should be proud of yourself because they are the true pros). Do you just feel tired of the droll company provided by all the mammals, invertebrates, fish and avians? Need to spend some time surrounded by scads of your favorite carbon monoxide breathing besties? Go to Wickmans. Of course it's proper etiquette to make a purchase after all they are a business and businesses need economy to function, but I'm sure they wouldn't mind too much if you just dropped by and enjoyed the beautiful ambiance and checked out the place. Don't bring your friends and try to tailgate in the parking lot but you know what I'm saying. This place is dear to my heart all joking aside and I guess I'm not the most experienced plant purchaser but to me it seems like everything's reasonably priced and some of the botanical oddities they offer are irresistible to me; I have to take them home. My plants are my pets along with my pet. They're a part of the family if you ask me however if inquiries were to be brought to Pamela on the subject, she may harbor a different philosophy. If you made it this far you deserve five stars yourself, thanks for reading my review; oh yeah one more thing:
    Go To Wickmans!!

This place had a great selection of plants at really decent prices! They have your typical garden fare, but also some harder to find tropical species. I picked up some bucket list Calatheas. I'll definitely be stopping by next time I'm in Springfield again!

I live in Ontario Canada and have frequently ordered flowers for my daughter who lives in Springfield MO. Wickmans have been really great at following my wishes for special arrangements. Their floral designer has made some absolutely beautiful and very creative arrangements. All I do is to tell them occasion, colour and maybe suggest a specific flower or two. The resulting arrangement has always been wowing!
Yes…on one occasion I did have some issues as the person taking my phone order did not get address and card info correct. This was quickly rectified and that new person got some quick retraining.
When I get to Springfield a trip to Wickmans is definitely on the agenda!

Love wickmans! I’ve been visiting for years- they have an amazing cactus/succulent collection, and a ton of annuals/perennials/herbs/veggies for the garden!

Love this nursery! They have a lot of plants to choose from and have a nice selection of koi fish in one of their little out buildings. Their staff is very nice and more than willing to help out. Only downside is that they're kind of pricey. Other than that, it's a good place to find a new plant to add to a plant collection or garden.

After purchasing a Japanese maple here last year's im so sad it didn't make. When we came there the young girl immediately accused me of neglect because I left the tags on. I have other Japanese maple which are doing just fine. Her customer service was horrible. I also work in customer service if I ever treated my customers like that I'd be fired. I've never returned at wickmans before. I was treaded rude and I it was presumed I did this on purpose. I've been a Gardner for 35 years. The young girl needs some customer service training, her name is not on the building. The return policy seems maybe only for favorite customer's.......
I WILL NEVER SHOP AT WICHMAMS AGAIN

Definitely not the establishment it once was, but employees are all super-friendly and we were able to take our friendly, leashed, dogs all over without issue.

I had my vegetable garden looking perfect. Six rows about 16 ft long. Decided to mulch it to help keep the weeds down, so I went to Wickman's to see if they had straw. Yes indeed they do. I bought a bale and spread it out mid April. Fast forward to May 8th. I go out to the garden and I've got wheat growing everywhere!! We're all set to go on vacation in two days and my garden is a DISASTER! I took photos and sent them to the owner who said yes, that's wheat! He asked for my address and said he'd send a crew over to try and minimize the damage. I felt a little better after that. We left town on the 10th and returned on the 20th. The wheat had grown another 6 inches. No one had come. I texted the owner and said I guess you changed your mind about trying to minimize the damage to my garden. He didn't respond.

There used to be a time when businesses tried to do what's right by their customers but I guess once you reach a point where losing one or two here and there doesn't hurt the bottom line, it's an acceptable part of doing business. Mistakes happen and that's forgivable. A calculated decision to leave your customer to clean up after your mistake is not. Not much I can do but tell my story to others, probably won't make any difference but then again, maybe it will.

I live in Indiana, but my elderly mother lives in Springfield, Missouri. I remembered ten years ago she and I ordered a wildflower arrangement from Wickman's for my dad's services when he passed away. It was beautiful. So I did an online order of a Mothers Day bouquet to be delivered to Mom and she loved it. She described it to me exactly as I ordered it. Great local place of business!

We love shopping local businesses as much as possible. Wickman's had beautiful flowers but prices were very high. Nice young lady at the register asked if she could help us. We were looking specifically for sphagnum moss. They had small bags for $20.95 EACH. Went to Menards - same exact size bag - $7.97 each. I know Wickman's can't compete with the big box stores, but $12.98 is a big price difference.
