Read moreWhat a nightmare. The company is now out of business. The owner(s) were pretty shady, didn't pay a sub contractor, stiffed me with an extra $1k inspection bill they were supposed to cover. Shoddy electrical work in the attic (cover plates left off, conduit not tacked/supported). Again, good thing they are out of business. I'm sure the owners will pop up with some new scam soon.
We were pleased with the closing packet we received with all of the information about the system. They also installed our phone monitoring apps and showed us how to use it to monitor the solar energy generated by the solar system. Nice, friendly people.
This company is abysmal. They damaged our roof because they can't communicate with their teams. Now they won't repair the damage, either. The owner, Justin Tallevast, has now ghosted us and left us with damages. They started off legit...BBB accredited with good reviews. Now, that BBB accreditation is gone and bad reviews are cropping up online. They are unprofessional, unhelpful and unfit. Do not use this company.
Solar City StL is a TERRIBLE company. I have so many examples of things that went wrong, lots and lots of delays, that were always someone elses fault, things that would be covered by their company that weren't, a check written to me to reimburse me which BOUNCED! Another excuse was given for that. The final straw was that they don't know or chose not to follow the requirements of the State of Illinois for inspections. Because of that, I am having to pay out-of-pocket for an inspection that should have done months ago. I have called them multiple times and sent several emails. They have not responded to any of my correspondence. I doubt if they will be in business much longer so please don't take the risk of using them. Go with any other company.
Ecocentrix and their team including Jonathan, Aaron, Sarah and Mollie, have all been absolute pleasures to work with. Quick to answer any questions with a heavy emphasis on giving their customers exactly what they need to succeed with their building's energy needs. Where other companies just seem to want to sell you as much as they can, Ecocentrix has a policy on tailoring your purchase to be as minimal as is needed to be effective. Conducting an energy audit and following up with weatherization to help your home use your solar energy efficiently. We are very happy to have worked with them and and will happily refer them to anyone we can.
We had ECOcentrix perform an energy audit of our home, and were enormously impressed with Aaron's competence, professionalism, and expertise -- enough so that we contracted with ECOcentrix for a full solar power system installation, which went live early in 2024. We could not be happier with our decision, and we could not be happier with ECOcentrix as our solar company. The system Aaron designed is working perfectly. Throughout the process, Aaron was very clear about what was going on, what the next steps would be, and what we should expect, and was diligent in making sure that everything was done properly. When any snags or issues came up at any point in the process, Aaron made sure that they were resolved and that we were aware of everything important. Before our solar installation went live, our electricity service was not nearly as reliable as we needed it to be, with power outages at least once a year, in some cases lasting for several hours. Since our system was activated, we've had two occasions when we lost grid power, and in both cases we were only aware of the interruption because our Enphase system notified us that it had happened. It brings amazing peace of mind to know that we're not at risk of an extended outage every time a storm with high winds sweeps through the area. And it's also very satisfying to have an electric bill of $10 to $15 per month!
