We’ve had an awesome experience with Patera at our new home build. Will definitely be using them in the future!

Working with Patera has been great! Abby, that coordinates scheduling, is always quick to respond and easy to work with. Their crews are talented and professional! The crews leave a tidy work area when completed and always have a great attitude. I wish I knew the crews by name, but after many projects I am convinced that all of the crews must be equally talented. I look forward to many projects in the future!

My initial experience with Patera was great. Ryan was very nice, personable, and communicated with me. As the manager of a cardiac unit at a hospital, I know how important communication is. 80% of the complaints received in the hospital ultimately happen because of a breakdown in communication. Therefore, being on the other side, I expected communication to continue to be a good as it was during our initial meetings. Unfortunately, things went south after the crew completed the project. I’ll never forget driving home from work the day I received the email that said, “Your project is completed!” I was estatic! Could not wait to get home to see the work that I didn’t have to bust my back doing. (Photos of the job are attached). From the sidewalk, the hostas were so small I could barely see them—and to think I paid $13 per hosta when I could’ve picked out my own that looked 10 times nicer then these for a better price. I eventually got over the microscopic hostas—they’ll grow. However, that tree. That HUGE tree. It was just planted and it is already that big. I could not live with that tree. Ryan came back on a Saturday and told me he would swap out the tree for a smaller one as he would generally put a tree with a 1-2inch base there, but thought I would be getting more bang for my buck with a 3-4 inch base. (Every neighbor I talked to said that tree was 1) way too big for that space, 2) appeared it was pushed up against another tree, because it was not round like new trees are, 3) it appeared to be leaning. I told him I would like a dwarf lilac tree (the pictures I googled were pretty, and the size appeared to be just right, at maturity). A week went by, and I hadn’t heard anything from anyone (COMMUNICATION), so I sent an email to Ryan inquiring about when the tree would be replaced. On Monday, I received an email from Abby saying that the tree would be replaced along with a couple other geraniums that never came out of their dormant phase. I asked Abby if I could get a price for the dwarf lilac tree, and she would not give me one because Ryan was waving the cost of removing the initial tree, the cost of restocking that tree, and the cost of the different tree. It makes me sick to know that the $400 tree that was planted in this space was replaced with a dwarf lilac tree that was a fraction of the cost (I am the client! If I want to know the price of the dwarf lilac tree, I should get to know!). At this point, I just wanted this experience to be over, so I simply asked that they send me a picture of the tree they intended to plant in this space because I wanted to be sure that I was really going to love it. Abby told me “Absolutely, we can do that.” Great! Fast forward another week without hearing a thing (COMMUNICATION) and here comes the Patera trucks to replace the tree. I now have a dwarf lilac tree shorter then me and held up with a stick in the space where a large tree once was. One extreme to the other it seems, with no in between to be found. And did I get the picture ahead of time that I asked for to make sure I was going to love the tree that they were bringing you ask?!?! Of course not! (COMMUNICATION) Do I absolutely hate it you ask?! YES! Am I now going to go to a store and pick out my own tree that will actually look decent in this space?! Sure am! I should also mention, when I was driving home from work that day, I was expecting a bed of rock along the west side of our house and around the air conditioner, the big boulder rocks that the prior owners used as a fire pit be incorporated into the landscape/removed, and a path from the gate to the driveway be made from the pavers that were in the fire pit. I was also expecting edging because that is what the initial/only picture I was shown included. Did I get any of this? No. Could I though? “Absolutely! I’d be happy to have Ryan send you a bid!” is the response I received. Had I known that I was paying over $4k for a fraction of the work I was expecting I NEVER would've chose Patera.

I am so happy that I chose Patera for my landscaping needs! Jeff was knowledgeable, flexible, and accommodating, especially as we adjusted the plans a couple of times before starting the project. Martin and David gave great suggestions during planning, and were a great addition to the team. Even during installation when I decided to add more mulch and add some edging at the last minute, Patera was accommodating and prompt to deliver. Keely and Abby in the office were responsive to my questions and suggestions. The entire Patera team was honest, hard-working, and worked together seamlessly to make my landscape project a success. I received great customer service and my project came out better than expected! I recommend Patera highly. I will definitely call them for future landscaping needs.

I cannot say enough good things about Patera Landscaping. We hired them to do landscaping in our front and back yard, as well as a rock bed/drainage to fix an ongoing water issue. Jeff Patera was very responsive to all questions, proposals, and additions we had. He exceeded expectations in communication. I also have to commend his workers. I talked to Felipe on several occasions. He was always polite, accommodating, and extremely helpful answering questions/giving feedback. In fact, all the guys were friendly, worked hard and did a fantastic job. This was the second time we've used them, and will absolutely use them again for future projects. I cannot recommend them enough.

Our experience was disappointing. After two in person meetings and additional follow up emails, the design was still only about 50% complete. Charged $300 for something that cannot be used. Key corrections to the landscape topology were never incorporated, and the plans lacked accuracy. Instead of delivering a thorough design, they prefer to make changes on the fly during brief in-person visits, which is unrealistic to cover in 30-60minutes. Overall, the process felt unorganized and ineffective. Called to express my disappointment and they said I would get a call back. No call back yet received or partial refund on design fee.

Patera Landscaping is hands down the best landscaping company I have ever worked with! Their professionalism and attention to detail is unmatched. Ryan worked with to make sure everything was exactly how I wanted it and even came back to show me exactly where each light would go and how the projection would look. I couldn't decide on which flowers to plant in the front and he gave me countless options to choose from based on the sunlight I get. His team was also extremely professional and communicated with me what they were going to do! There is a reason Patera has such great reviews, I would recommend them to anyone!

My wife and I recently had a pool installed and needed help with ideas for the design around it. Patera Landscaping not only designed, they installed the perfect oasis!
From the design to the crews that worked countless hours in our backyard we couldn’t be happier with the service and attention to detail that Patera provided. I highly recommend them for whatever project you have big or small!

We had been wanting to add landscaping to our home for years, and after seeing their work knew we wanted to work with Patera. It was worth the wait, and we were not disappointed! They were extremely professional from start to finish. From our initial meeting with Jeff, to working with the office staff (Abby and Brianna - you're awesome!), to the crews that performed the work (Filipe rocks!) - everything was on-time, within budget, and exceeded expectations. The workmanship and work effort was apparent every step of the way and I don't feel any detail was neglected. I would highly recommend Patera to friends and family and am confident they would be as impressed as we are. Thanks Patera for a job well done!

Patera was great to work with and did a fantastic job on our landscaping and patio! The designers were helpful in picking out colors and plants to meet our vision and Jose and his crew were on-time and efficient! It was the cleanest job site we could’ve hoped for and we look forward to working on more projects with Patera in the future!

We reached out to Patera in July for landscaping around our new house. Jeff came over to talk about our thoughts - he was extremely informative and helpful. They started work within 2 weeks and completed the project in 3 days. Really awesome work and at a really good price point. We had one sprinkler that needed a change to its spray pattern the day after and they were here early the next morning to fix it within minutes. Highly recommend Patera for landscaping work.

We've used Patera for several projects, both big and small, and have always been extremely happy with their work. Jeff has helped with landscape design and recommendations for the best shrubs and trees for problem areas in our yard. Recently we had them back to freshen everything up and couldn't be more thrilled with their work. We will continue to use them when needed, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to everyone we know.

Patera completed a massive project for us. A complete overhaul of our property. From the start Jeff was incredible. The plans were amazing and we were so excited to see it completed.

The project took 6 weeks to complete and although I had a moment of panic when seeing the unfinished concrete they listened to my concerns and asked me to “trust the process” which I tried to do while internally panicking.

In the end it is everything we dreamed and hoped for. We truly have an outdoor oasis. I’m so happy we worked with them and am looking forward to continuing to work with them for spring and fall clean ups and even future expansions of our recent renovation!

My husband and I recently went to Sun Valley with a general idea of what we wanted. Mike and Danny were amazing!!! We explained our vision for our landscape project and they were both incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Also, customer focused and pleasant. Great experience!

From picking out product to delivery, Sun Valley has been a pleasure to work with. Morgan was very professional giving quotes, taking our order, and scheduling delivery. Cody, the delivery driver, communicated he was on his way, was right on time, and went above and beyond to make sure he dropped the materials exactly where we needed them. Will absolutely be ordering the next load of materials for our project from them next week. As weekend DIYers I feel like we were treated just as professionally as a large contractor would have been and I love that we are supporting a small local business. Thank you!!

I shared with Ruely Ramos that I needed thin Flagstone for my neighbor. I am helping them fix a drainage problem.
I picked a rock they would want but I couldn't get to it, to many heavy rocks around it. He was very, very understanding and helped me get the rock. I was very appreciative of his time and willingness to help me.

SunValley Landscaping has been doing a remarkable job on our property. They prepared beds and planted last fall. They educated us on watering. They have come back this spring and replaced plants that have underperformed. We have hired them again to cut a few trees and create three more beds. And recently for mulching. We couldn't be happier with the communication, fair price, and outcomes on our property. From sales through implementation, they are top of the line.

We went there to find flagstone for a walkway. We had a few questions while we were in the yard looking at all the wonderful pieces of stone. We were approached by an employee who stated his name was Frank. Frank was extremely helpful, professional, and answered every question we had. We have been to other places before, but Frank at Sun Valley made this experience pleasant and fun. We were not expecting to leave with any stones, but ended up bringing a few home. Thank you to Frank and all the employees at Sun Valley for the hard work and friendliness they all showed. We will definitely be back to purchase more items.

The service representative was courteous and amiable. My order was delivered sooner than expected, and the driver was just as friendly. Prices were exceptional. You could use some signs for the business. (Maybe) I didn't see them, but that is just a small thing. Excellent.

Wow this place is awesome. Design services and supplies, what a slick operation. Great staff. Check them out for your landscaping services. It's in the trees so go slow to find the entrance on the south side of the road.

Sun Valley had what we needed, in stock, for our memorial paver project. We at Milacek Monument Co. highly recommend Sun Valley Landscaping.
