An AC repair guy came out to check our geothermal unit. He looked it over and told me the refrigerant was low and he was sure there was a leak somewhere. He then told me he wouldn't fill the unit without knowing where the leak was, quoted me a price of $10,000 to replace the coil (labor not included), told me I was welcome to get a second opinion and then left.
Well, I got a second opinion. The refrigerant was indeed low but also one of the pump motors was shot PLus the capacitor was shot PLUS the two damp motors were stuck in the closed position and also need to be replaced...Carters missed all of that! It was like they just didn't want our business so they didn't even bother being thorough. Also the quote to replace the coil when it comes to that is less than half the $10,000 the Carter's guy quoted (labor included).
Honestly, I would never hire or recommend a company I can't trust and I no longer trust Carters.

Progress....I sure hope I can change this.
I do think it’s funny that no one has posted a review in 5 months, I posted a really bad one and within an hour three “amazing” 5 star reviews popped up. Hmmmmmm.
We have just had horrible experience with every aspect of this company. Everything from their tech breaking something inside my fridge (yes, inside. He opened my fridge to help himself to a drink and broke a jar, broke the bar to my shelf, cleaned it up and pretended nothing happened) I contacted the office as soon as I figured out it was him and it took days for the owner to call me back to talk to me, worst yet? He admitted he knew what had happened and still left me waiting for days before returning my call. All the way up to leaving our new construction home hanging for 8 weeks. Because they would not show up to do the work and would not return our calls our house is two months behind. I wanted to use someone else but because they had already started the work my husband went ahead with them. I dread ever needing their help. These are the only two experiences we have had with Carters and I would NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. Ugh, save your time, save the frustration and use someone else. There are many other HVAC companies in Omaha and surrounding that don’t have such lousy service all the way from the tech up to the owner. I really REALLY hope that everything to finish and possible warranty stuff goes very well so I can change the rating on this someday.

Will not service two Geothermal Systems that are 1.5 years old that were installed with a 10 year parts and labor warranty. I paid $50,000.00 for this system. Had them out to fix problems from the beginning multiple times. As soon as it was becoming obvious that they were unable to fix the issues they stopped sending techs out and to told me I had to contact to owner Walter who will not respond to email, or calls. wWe have two children one being only 7 months with heat not working at times since December. It has been almost three months now that they have broken their contractual obligations to the warranty. I have never wrote a negative review before . This is why I have waited this long to to do so with them. I was hoping that Casters HVAC would stand up and take responsibility. I have proof of everything that has been said (video, email, call logs). I won't let this company get away with treating people the way my family has been treated. If you work hard for your money and care about your families well being, stay away from this company. I will not stop until this is rectified.

Our new construction home is still under the 1 year warranty period. Last week, our furnace wouldn't keep up, so we called Carter's, who installed our system, to see if they could check it out before the warranty expired. I had changed our air filter only 2 months prior, so didn't figure it would be that. I informed them it is still under the warranty while scheduling the appointment and asked if it would be covered. There was no response, so I assumed it would be. WRONG!! The owner came out and checked the system over. He informed us that everything was fine and he replaced our air filter with a new one that I had sitting by the unit. They slapped us with a $100 bill in the mail. Thank you Carter's for allowing us to cross you off our list for any future needs. Pretty poor customer service on a unit that you installed a year ago!!

They told us our furnace and heat pump needed replaced for over $11k total. Got another company out that said while the furnace needed replaced, the heat pump absolutely did not and just needed a tune up. $9k difference in price! Do NOT recommend Carter's.

This company BEWARE they put in a new system for us. Didn’t put it right had to come out and fix and charged us for having to fix their mistake to get it running. Mind you this was a NEW unit they put in and charged us to fix their mistake. They told us it was the underground part of the unit that wasn’t working so we had to hire the company they suggested cost us $300 to have them tell us it was Carters unit so then Carter come out and did flushing out of unit and charged us over $2000 to fix it . Mind you the unit had only been in for a few months when all this took place and has a 10 year warranty. If this is how they stand by their new units this should have been at their costs for not installing the unit properly to begin with. So BEWARE.

My salon is new. Last year the ac had zero problems. When I upgraded my account unit and spent $900 in the fall I thought everything would be good. I went 5 weeks in the salon without AC, then when the 2 guys that came to fix it. (Mind you it was about 85° in the salon at the time), they first went over the street to bucksnort. An hour later they "fixed" it. And that lasted about 3 days. Then another guy came and said it just needed more freon.

This lasted 3 more weeks. And now here we are working in my salon and when its 80° out and I'll go as far and 90° out then its 80° or more in my salon. They have skated around all the issues. (Becuase its under warranty)

Im disgusted with the shifty mechanic crap. Warranty work sucks, but im not stupid.

My cousin an HVAC tech came in and it took him 20 minutes, because thd problem was just a clogged drain hose.

Update: my heat hasnt been working and the maintenance guy came in to let me know the AC was frozen up. I was confused because that $900 piece to prevent it from freezing up was put on my ac. Come to find out they REMOVED the piece I paid for and "scrapped" it when the AC in the summer wasnt working. They now have to do some work on my BRAND NEW furnace so my emergency heat can work since that peice i paid for was taken off.

The owner has yet to get back in touch with the property manager.
