    IDK what kind of work they do on trees, but someone driving their pickup ran a stop sign Stromsburg onto hwy 81 on solid ice in front of a loaded cattle truck, spun sideways on ice, went one block and turned off, spinning and sliding the entire way. Really professional people. If they cut trees like they drive I wouldn't hire them at all.

    I initially called early summer 2020 after a storm had broken a limb loose which was hanging over my neighbors driveway. I wished to have it removed ASAP (to avoid damages to neighbor's car) as well as trim four other trees on my property. They arrived quickly to give me an estimate, were courteous and kind, told me they would try to get to the broken limb within a week and should be able to do the trimming within a month. After two weeks the police were called because the limb still had not been removed. I called again and they arrived promptly to remove it. They did a great job at cleanup, even going so far as to pick up some larger limbs that had been broken loose by the earlier storm. That's where the good experience ends. They never showed up to trim my trees. They never provided any further communication. Winter came. An ice storm dropped two large limbs onto my property; one in the driveway and one onto my fence. I called twice about removing the limb in the driveway and was told they would try to make it by to take a look. We ended up doing it ourselves with a handsaw and the help of a neighbor with a chainsaw. When they did arrive to clear the large limb from atop the fence, they did not trim the broken section up to the trunk as I have usually seen done. One limb (which I did not request be cut) was left with at least 10 ft sticking out of the trunk. When I received the bill, the limb that had been hanging over my neighbors driveway cost 25% of the entire cost they quoted me for removing it AND trimming the four trees they never got around to. The limb that had fallen on the fence cost more than they quoted me for trimming the driveway limb and trimming the four trees. When I contacted them to inquire if the bill was meant to include the tree trimming I was told no, and that the cost was high because the individual staying at the home where the work had been done had requested more work. This was a lie--that individual was my step-dad staying there because he recently lost his wife (my mom). He knew I was paying and did not request more than the one limb removed from the fence. When I pointed this out, I was then told "there was just more work that needed done". TLDR; They never gave me an accurate time-frame for completing work--I had to call at least twice each time I needed work done. I was charged 125% of the original quote to have two limbs removed and still have four trees that they never trimmed. Will never use this service again. Seem like nice people but I guess they had a bad year and took it out on me.

    I’m so glad we chose Sperling Tree Service to trim some very large trees and grind up a stump in our yard. They were so helpful in consulting about which limbs should be removed and went above and beyond to clean up a tree we hadn’t even mentioned! They had a team to clean up the yard in record time and did it all for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.
