Just completed my second job with Allen Chimneys. First was a routine cleaning and the second was a larger reconstruction job. Each experience I’ve had has been better than the next. Theron and his team are reliable, efficient and trustworthy. They are also overall good guys!! Will never hesitate to use them or recommend. Thanks again!!

Overall a very good experience. We had them come clean and check our chimney liner prior to installation of a new boiler. We thought we needed a new liner but he told us it's already stainless and we are good to go for our gas heat conversion. Very honest and nice guy, would definitely recommend them.

They did an amazing job on my chimney. We had whats called a "wet chimney" where the brick is older and absorbs the rain water. On top of that, there was no proper crown and the past owner just put tar on top to temporarily fix it. The chimney was causing huge leaks in our roof and ceiling. I was having a hard time finding people who were reliable or trustworthy in my area. I probably interviewed 4 other contractors before Allen's chimney and they were the only people that were honest and reasonably priced. They actually took the time to explain my chimneys situation, what it needs, and how to keep up with it after. The mortar work came out beautiful but I was more happy that I found someone that was honest with great work and didn't just want to do the job to over charge me. I wish i had a before picture to compare but it looks 1000xs better. 100% will go back to them. I'm so happy I did my research and found them.

Great job rebuilding the heating flue in our chimney. Everyone was very efficient and explained the work to me. Will use them again for sure in the future

We were charged full price for an incomplete inspection. They only inspected one fireplace instead of the agreed upon two chimneys. When I reminded them that we were waiting for the estimate for the one fireplace that was inspected they said they now needed an even “more thorough” and obviously more expensive inspection in order to provide an estimate. Ridiculous. This company just wants your money without doing any work. We do not recommend.

I wasn't going to write a review when I got a text message I called and told them I wouldn't do a bad review but the guy only spent 5 minutes there. The owner called me claiming no way it was 5 minutes and that he spends 100k in insurance. Well lets be clear. This is a 6" stainless steel liner. It cost me 295.00 they were there 5 minutes. Also note I have a wood stove insert no longer a hard chimney to use a chain with. Never in my life have I had to deal with anyone like this owner. I would not recommend them. Below is an estimate of the time it takes. By the way the owner claimed it takes time to setup a ladder. (My house is a ranch. right on the street. Small roof, easy to access single story. taking a ladder off of a van and carrying it 20' and climbing up the roof to an easily accessible chimney is not a lot of time. Also they just draped a tarp over my wood burning stove insert literally took 30 seconds.

here’s a realistic estimate based on typical residential chimneys (20–30 ft tall):
Chimney TypeTypical Sweep TimeRelative Speed6" stainless steel liner~15–25 minutesBaseline (100%)Clay or concrete flue (same height)~25–45 minutesAbout 40–80% slower
    Why the difference:

Smooth liner walls mean the brush moves quickly with little resistance.

Concrete or clay flues have joints, corners, and a rough surface that trap soot, so you need more passes.

Concrete flues also stay cooler, which means more creosote buildup — that’s extra work to remove.

A lined chimney also tends to have a consistent round diameter (6"), while concrete or clay flues vary in shape and may require multiple brushes.

    ✅ Rule of thumb:
Sweeping a 6" stainless liner usually takes about half the time of a similarly sized concrete or clay chimney in similar condition.
Would you like me to include estimated labor cost differences (e.g., how much a sweep might charge for each type)?

Allen Chimneys was very responsive and accommodated our needs. They communicated well throughout the process and the cost was comparable and fair for good quality work.

Theron, Orlando and his crew, and the staff at Allen Chimneys were very professional, responsive, helpful and hardworking. The fee was very competitive and reasonable. They went above and beyond, worked an extra day and did a very thorough and quality job. My fireplace chimney (circa 1942) was relined with an insulated stainless steel liner (previous clay tile lining was removed); the smoke chamber was hand-parged with refractory cement; the old throat damper was removed; and the back of my firebox was relined with new fire bricks and refractory cement (old fire bricks were loose and mortar was failing). They were also able to repurpose the existing top damper. They meticulously set up drop clothes with cardboard from the entry door to the fireplace to protect the hardwood floors and natural stone on the floor in front of the fireplace. They carefully set up plastic tarps inside the living room to contain particulates and dust and to protect the brick and woodwork around the front of the fireplace. After the work was completed, there was very minimal dust near the fireplace and the natural stone, walls and woodwork were spotless. No debris was left in the front yard as well. The one critical piece of this review is that to obtain access to the roof for chimney access the ladders were placed directly against the aluminum gutter (no stand-off ladder attachment used) despite forewarnings to the crew of likely scuffs to the powder coating and dents to the pliable aluminum; the aluminum gutter was ultimately scuffed and slightly dented, which is visible from ground level. They also
places directly on and crushed a part of the ridge vent on my roof (Theron did pay for the one section of ridge vent to be replaced, which was the right move). If I could, I would give the review a 4.9. After and before photographs are provided. Allen Chimneys is highly recommended!

The chimney sweep workers were clean, respectful of property and neat. The inspector took photos with a special camera and showed me a small area that should be repaired. I asked him to text me the photos he said he would and never did. I never received a written report of the repair needed or a phone call. I received and email with an estimate to repair ALL 4 walls of the flue for $3750. What?? He showed me a small area 3x3 inches if that, on one side - I physically looked at it myself with him. No explanation on the estimate either. For that you get 3 stars - seems sketchy at this point

Had a great experience using Ryan & Sons, easy scheduling with full explanation of services and costs. Tech Tim then showed up on time, respectful of our home and so knowledgeable. He also was happy to educated us as new homeowners which we are grateful for!! Inspection report was thorough and helpful for repairs.

We hired Allen Chimney to replace our chimney liner, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. Theron, the owner, personally came out to provide an estimate and took the time to explain the entire replacement process in detail. He gave us a written quote on the spot, which was clear and fair.
The workmanship was top-notch, and the team demonstrated true professionalism throughout the project. If you're dealing with chimney issues, and seeking estimates Allen Chimney should absolutely be one of the companies you call.

From Theron Allen to Luis (the person who did the work on the chimney), nothing but very professional and conscientious about the job and the cleanup. They even matched the color of the concrete for re-pointing which was ~95 years old.

    5

Informative and pleasant experience. Though only an appraisal, I felt the explanation of work needed was backed by knowledge and a true concern for having my chimney safe, efficient and prepared for many years to come. This was the 3rd appraisal I had gotten and felt like I was getting a true and honest assessment.
When the time comes for repairs I am definitely going to call Allen Chimneys.

We had such a great experience! We unfortunately had a chimney fire and that evening we called Allen Chimney ( it was a Sunday night) we immediately got a called back and the owner was at our house the next morning. They started the job right away and the workers were on time everyday, covered all furniture inside, and answered any questions we had. Highly recommend
