Ken, Ron, and Jennifer at Tri-County and all of their subs (electrical plumbing, tiling, cabinet installers, HVAC) did excellent work and were a pleasure to have in our home during our 2 month kitchen and bathroom reno. They were professional, patient, prompt, and very responsive. They handled an unexpected bathroom redo with speed and fairness and kept the job moving from start to finish. They have excellent connections and communications with suppliers and gave thoughtful guidance when asked. Would unequivocally recommend them.

6 months into a 6 week project and we’re still finding errors they made. We had to do nearly all the management ourselves as the on site manager, Ron, didn’t actually check that things were delivered properly. Weeks after a delivery when it was set to install we’d find out things were missing. The subcontractors showed zero respect for the fact that we were actively living in the home. We had them fully plastic and tape off part of our bedroom so no one would go in. Instead we found the sub had cut a hole in it and was storing equipment next to our upholstered bed. Another subcontractor treated our lawn as his person workshop and we had to spend hours trying to get tile dust out of the grass that our kids play on - we asked the more than once to use our driveway and a drop cloth, each time they would “forget.” They never checked with us when making major changes - the plumber had mentioned we “might” see a small scuffer box in the corner then without asking us installed a pipe across our dining room ($1000 for a wall mounted toilet would have solved this but they never asked, we were home). The paint in the bathroom started peeling within a week of the project supposedly being done. The worst part of working with Tricounty is the sexism inherent in their approach. Ken will ONLY respond to my husband. Currently we found grout that is missing from the shower tiles allowing water to leak through. Ken and his team offered to talk today until they found out it would be with me and not my husband. Now they refuse to deal with it. My husband and I will send the exact same message and only he gets a response. Midway through the project we signed on with another developer to do the majority of the rest of the work on our home - working with a woman owned company next time.

Time for a real review. Have a list of about 29 things they did wrong or left incorrect. Happy to list them all out if they'd like us to. In the end, they missed the completion deadline, charged us more than what it was supposed to cost, and left us with an end product that is either wrong, incomplete, or not done to our liking in at least a couple dozen different aspects. Shortcuts, poor workmanship, nearly non-existent communication & quality control, simply doing things the way they want to do them, not the way we asked them to be done or something different from what we asked for are the theme with Tri-County. They botched every aspect of the job, didn't listen to the selections we made, ordered the wrong things, and too many things because they are careless and don't care. Just one example, despite my requests not to, to save them about $4, they used an exterior exhaust hood without a backdraft damper, now we have outside air pouring in through our range hood raising our heating and cooling costs every single month indefinitely. And if all that isn't enough, some of their employees are worse than unprofessional, they're rude, disrespectful, unhinged, and clearly in a job they have no business being in.
